Hi again,
I came out with a brand new video today. I’m a huuuuuuuge Avatar fan, always have been. I wanted to make this because I recently re-watched and wanted to look past just the Aang and Zuko parallels and , instead, explore the thematic and visual parallels of Zuko and Katara’s stories.
I know that the thumbnail suggests shipping but I swear there is none, I’m just a clickbaity little shit lol.

If anybody’s followed me along on this journey thus far.. Thank you. SO MUCH. This has been my dream, to make these kinds of things, and every single view, comment, or like makes it all possible.
Let me know your thoughts!

Avatar TWOW just became my whole personality. I’m saying this now just in case you wonder why I will now spend day and night encased in my bathtub and become a prune.

The Merc’s favorite song/s in 1972:
Scout: ‘She’s a Lady’ by Tom Jones (1971)
Scout will often play this one in his room, dancing to it as if nobody’s watching. Jeremy also sings it under his breath or plays it at full volume in the training and exercise room, not caring about the other people on base. He envisions Ms. Pauling and the woman of his dreams as he shakes his hips, smiling unapologetically as he swings from side to side.
Soldier: ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ by Francis Scott Key and John Stafford Smith (1931-Present)
He will mumble this to himself as some sort of odd, patriotic, comfort. He will also sing it at the top of his lungs if prompted to, often receiving strange looks.
Pyro: ‘Do You Believe in Magic’ by The Loving Spoonful (1965)
This is just one of those songs that Pyro can listen to over and over again. They heard this sunshine pop song at a department store once, and they were hooked! Pyro doesn’t listen to much music, since they get very overstimulated and overwhelmed, but this song helps them let it all out. They play it in their room, over and over, refreshing the record time and time again.
Demoman: ‘Immigrant Song’ by Led Zeppelin (1970)
If a man ever felt badass to a song it would be at that moment. Demo plays it while practicing with his sword, frequently envisioning himself wielding the Eyelander and fighting in battle. He also plays it in his head as he swings his sword on the battlefield. The words make him feel like a fearless viking, and in his mind, he is.
Heavy: ‘Love Theme From Romeo and Juliet’ by Henry Mancini (1969)
Mikhail has always been a very big fan of orchestrations, especially emotional ones. When listening to this one, he can read and really feel the words of his book coming through the pages. This is a theme that gives him goosebumps every time, as the music swells, he can picture the images in his head crystal clear. He will often lock the door of his room, causing some of the other mercenaries to wonder what he’s doing in there.
Engineer: ‘Fare Thee Well, Miss Carousel’ by Town Van Zandt (1969)
Dell still loves the sound of Outlaw Country, it remains close to home. Dell loves this song, it’s close to his heart, it reminds him of his mother. She passed away after he left home, so it remains as a deep and treasured memory. He will play it when feeling especially sensitive. The memories it carries breaks down his walls. On occasion, he will cry to this song as he plays and sings it on his guitar.
Medic: ‘Danke Schoen’ by Wayne Newton (1963) , ‘Mack the Knife’ by Bobby Darin (1959)
Medic loves playing these while doing his experiments, he will be in a good mood all day. He still loves this kind of music. He will sing these, if badly, as he digs his hands into test subjects. He often “performs” them and dances around his laboratory, and if found out, he will act as if nothing is happening and nothing was seen. He covers the cameras in his labs to perform these silly actions, but he will make an exception and act like himself with people he truly trusts.
Sniper: ‘People are Strange’ by The Doors (1967)
This song gives Sniper a certain edge, it gives him a feeling of justifying his self inflicted loneliness. He will sing it under his breath while crafting or making something that requires deep concentration. Mundy is a natural recluse and this song fills that need of giving grounds to his circumstances. He will swing his head from side so side as he listens to this song in his van, usually giving him a feeling of everlasting toughness.
Spy: ‘Le jour se lève’ by Esther Galil (1971)
Spy is deeply connected to this song, he is a romantic after all. He listens to it in his car, when alone. It serves the purpose of making him feel some kind of remorse towards Scout’s mother. Sometimes he just wants to feel guilty for what he’s done, it’s this kind of self inflicted pain. He waits for this song to give him the motivation to come clean to his son, but for the time being it remains as a pure form of bringing some feeling to his chest.
This is my first one of these! I’m open to commissions on stuff! Send me a question or message.

COCO:
poquitos espoilers
GRACIAS PIXAR.
