Going off on my first ever scout camp as a leader... I remember being a girl guide, and feeling so serene, so alive, whilst being out in nature, looking up at the star encrusted sky at night, watching fire crackle and burn, running streams against my skin, the grass sweeping against my boots... the trees whispering secrets only I understood. Went to Chippenham Folk Festival today, and there were quite a few pagan stands. Managed to grab this gorgeous new rosewood runes, as I’ve been hoping to get a set for a while, and the energy from them pulled me in. Need to start learning me some runes, but I gotta cleanse these bad boys first!

Sometimes we forget just how important self-care is to our Craft.

in my eyes, any type of self care is witchcraft. taking a shower? a literal and metaphorical cleansing ritual. making food? kitchen witchcraft, obviously. drawing? it’s like a really complex sigil thats purpose is to calm you down and clear your mind. making tea? potions. lying in bed all day binging your favourite show on netflix? a day of recharging your soul. don’t ever feel guilty for not doing complex spells all the time. you’re a witch - everything you do is inherently witchy.

Tarot Tip

Is your deck still acting funky even after cleansing it? Give it a self-care day!

♦️Keep your deck with you as you’re doing your morning routine.

♣️Spritz your deck with your favorite scent as you spritz yourself.

♦️Keep it near you while you’re having lunch. Describe how yummy the food is to your deck.

♣️ Pet your deck while you give it compliments.

♦️Give your deck some kisses and tell it how much you appreciate it.

♣️Have your deck snuggled in a little wrap you have for it while you watch movies together.

♦️Clean the area where you usually keep your deck.

♣️Go for a walk or go to the park with your cards.

There are some days when you’re feeling emotionally drained for no apparent reason. So can your deck. Be patient with your cards❤

Bad Penny

Here’s a fun little jinx I used to cast a lot.

You Need:

~ A penny

Hold the penny in your left hand. Get angry. Whatever makes you angry, think of it now. Make a fist around the penny and hold it up to your mouth. When you’re good and angry, start swearing at the penny, calling it nasty names, telling it ugly things. Go on as long as you like. (This is a great way to vent!)

When you’re done, say, “Pass it on.”

Drop the penny in the house of someone who’s annoyed you, use it to pay at a business that’s done you wrong, give it to someone you want to inconvenience, sow discord in the world for the lulz, go nuts. I used to charge ‘em by the handful and scatter them downtown when I was partially homeless and hated everyone and everything.

Notes:

As some of you may have realized, you can use this as a way to cleanse! If you don’t want to weaponize the penny, say “Hold that for me” when you’re done charging, and dispose of it safely or cleanse the penny.

Do not keep the penny. Just do not. I once cursed a penny, dropped it so it landed in my shoe by accident, and had a stunningly shitty day. It takes ten seconds to cast if you have a penny and you’re already angry. Storing them up just means they go to work on you. So if you want to carry ammo, just keep uncharged pennies on you and charge them as needed.
