K-drama Recommendations (part 2)
For Asexuals and or Aromantics
Implied or Slight Romance only
School 2013
School 2013 is probably upon my all time favourite dramas. I truly loved the bond between the teachers and the students and the relationship that they formed despite the lack of attention some students had towards studying and school itself. The character development and deeper understanding we get of troubled students instead of complete isolation and labeling is refreshing. It is a huge contrast to typical high school dramas, and explores topics such as class divide, bullying, domestic abuse and suicide. Highly recommended.
My Rating: 9.5/10
Life on Mars
Life on Mars is an adaptation of a British series, and centres around the ML who fell into a coma whilst working on a serial killer case (he is an officer) and is transported to 1988. It is very funny and intriguing, even if the story was slightly confusing... The romance is part of the story, but only very subtle a
My Rating: 7.3/10
School 2017
Alike School 2013, this is a High School drama. However, this focuses on the son of the Director of the school and a lower class girl who enjoys drawing comics. Despite Romance being more prevalent in this series, I didn't find it suffocating like others. Student X is a mysterious student who likes to cause terrible for the ones in charge and this puts a lot of pressure on the FL. I loved this and found myself rooting for the relationship by the end, surprisingly, so it was refreshing.
My Rating: 8/10
The Guardians
The Guardians is a drama about the issues and corruption of the justice system, and stars Key (SHINee) which was... Pleasantly surprising. The FL loses her child and discovers that the case was brushed under the rug as it involved the son of the chief, and so becomes a fugitive after unleashing her anger on the boy. A group of people all seeking justice and answers for cases involving their families that were unfairly treated. It is a very well rounded story and is pretty long, so amazing for me. The romance involved is not the focus of the story, more like a side couple.
My Rating: 8/10

K-drama Rec Masterlist (part 1)
For Aromantics and or Asexuals
K-dramas with NO explicit Romance:
Mother
Mother is a K-drama based around a teacher who witnesses an abused student. She tries to intervene however as the abuse was denied, nothing could be done about it. She takes the child and runs away. Cue a heart wrenching story of a mother and a daughter exploring their new found family with many road blocks.
My Rating: 9.8/10
D.P
D.P is a drama based on the ML in the Military, and explores abuse and corruption. The two main characters work to find Deserters of the military, dealing with suicide and difficult topics. Be ready to laugh and cry, and cry some more.
My Rating: 8.9/10
Move to Heaven
Move to Heaven is... So damn emotional. I cried multiple times per episode and the story was beautiful. The character development was amazing and they were easy to empathize with. Deals with a lot of death, but in an interesting way. This was one drama I was surprised that I loved. The ML has autism and his uncle comes to support him, but with a negative first impression. They work together at Move to Heaven, a trauma cleaning service.
My Rating: 9.2/10
Juvenile Justice
Juvenile Justice is a very intriguing one. Judges who work in a Juvenile court, who work more closely with the cases. There are many issues with laws surrounding Juvenile crime, leading to emotional scenes and truly angering events. It's easy to understand the Main characters, and the contrast of the cold FL and warm ML and their friendship without Romance is refreshing.
My Rating: 8.8/10
Note: I am new to Tumblr, so I don't know how this works, but if you can comment recommendations or anything you like, I'd love that :)
