truly from the bottom of my heart i hate the level of enshittification etsy has reached because it's still the best place to buy patterns for my hobby and every time i go scrolling through endless ai-generated bullshit to finally dig up a human-designed pattern i like, i'm hit with a deluge of 'popular!! 563 people are looking at this right now!! it's in 134632 baskets!! you must buy immediately!!!' it's a pdf file. it's a fucking pdf file. do you get off on trying to give people fomo over a fucking pdf file. fuck off. get diarrhea forever.

Sea serpent pattern by Crafty Intentions, made by me last year. Yarn is Scheepjes Chunky Monkey.
It turned out way larger than I intended, but once I had started, I couldn't exactly stop.

I love it when the unreliable narrator begins to trip and reveal the flaws in their story and themself. I cannot explain how much I adore them. The moment you realize that "wait, something is not right" and start to rethink the whole book is the absolute best thing to happen to you while reading. You just know the reread will be even better.

Hello hello again, I've had an odd few weeks and have been unable to manage the time or brain space to try and post till now. Now I have it, it's just an odd hour, but we're making it work.
For the past few months, I've gained a technique in crochet that I haven't seen many others utilize, and lately I've been using it to make stars without sewing. And I've been a little obsessed with it.
I still don't fully know how to explain how to do it (preemptive apologies on that) but I've been working on it. I've made

Obviously, I start off making one with eyes like on Mario. He's kinda powerstar shaped, but he ended up stuffed like a luma. I love him, he squishes nice and he has obvious points.
I've made dozens in smaller sizes and trying to take it much much larger as well.

Even making a pillow out of some yarn I wanted to just use up and test with. It's so cozy to hold and lean against too. There's an obvious twist from the center portion I started in heading out (started on the multi-blue side), the purple ended up a bit flat, and the last few rounds had some gaps in the stitches, but it formed more or less how I wanted it.
I also have a bit of an obsession with sea life, so I wanted to see about making an odd sea star and...

I made a brittle star... it certainly looks like one to me and the goal was met, but it's one of those things that you make and you don't quite know how to feel about.
And like I said: no sewing. Not a single one (unless you count slip stitching 2 rows of sc together as sewing, then the brittle star has some)

I'm low on spoons lately, so I made myself an extra one. Purple, because there aren't enough purple spoons in the world.

Send in trans clowns!

Based on @nichet-crochet's clown possum pattern, after my friend saw this post and asked me to make one. The pom-pom is more a tassel, because the cotton yarn won't fluff up like acrylic would, and there are countless things I fucked up with, but it's more than I could do a month ago!

Sometimes I finish an amigurumi, and it hasn't come out as well as I envisioned, and I feel a bit crappy about it. But then I say to myself, "This used to be just a ball of yarn, and now it looks kind of like a cute animal, and you did that with your actual hands." And I feel better.
