I need people defending DC's deliberate no-homo-ing of Bruce and Dick's relationship by saying "it wasn't homosexuality they had a problem with it was pedophilia" to understand that the people making these decisions considered (and in some cases still consider because there are plenty of openly homophobic comics creators still around) those two things to be synonymous.

You don't have to ship it. You don't even have to like it. But I need you to stop actively defending homophobic decisions made for homophobic reasons. Homophobia doesn't magically become acceptable when the outcome is something you approve of. And it's worth noting that even if you assume the creators of the comics code had non-homophobic intentions - which to be clear they were very openly homophobic - the actual real life outcome of Seduction of the Innocent and the ensuing code was to ban depictions of queer characters entirely up until about 1990. Notably, I can think of multiple examples of m/f relationships between teenagers and adults that got code approval just fine before then. Including Babs/Dick but for some reason all these people who think Bruce and Dick's relationship 50 years ago needs to be taken into account don't want to take into account that Babs was originally in her 30s to Dick's mid-to-late-teens.

DC wants to rewrite this history. It's no longer socially acceptable to be openly homophobic, so they want to pretend it was always about something else. But it wasn't. It never has been, and it isn't now. It is and always has been about establishing that Batman, their male power fantasy, is safely heterosexual. The very least you can do is not let them get away with this.

And stop harassing your fellow fans for having a ship you don't like.
