The Great Gatsby Mini Review
I will admit, I do like Jay Gatsby; sometimes I viewed myself while reading Nick’s telling of the story. In my opinion Gatsby’s ambitiousness acts as both a strength and weakness. Fitzgerald does a wonderful job and comparing success of this trait in the beginning of Gatsby’s adulthood to his end, a result of hubris from the success of his possibly illegal and or corrupt acts. Moreover, reading about Gatsby’s detailed plan to relive his past became an admonition to me; I too create detailed plans but, I create them to become friends with someone who interests me. To summarize this post, Jay Gatsby is an ambitious, detailed introvert who I relate to.
