not the whole page I fear (+ this has been pencil-smudged to hell) but here’s yuri, the oc I mentioned in my last reblog. i don’t have all the lore figured out for him yet, but he’s an escaped hydra soldier (this oc concept is fairly popular I’m not copying I swear) who was originally created as just a silly oc x canon, but became a fairly fleshed-out character bc I ended up liking him. he’s not my only oc I have, but he’s my favorite and I have a huge backlog of art for him, so expect to see more of that soon? maybe?

I'll summarize his story until i get lazy because i love my little guy so much

Born in a small Sokovian village.

At age 6, village destroyed by an escaped Hydra experiment: a massive mutated bear.

Survived alone through a brutal winter, eating rotting carcasses and raw meat - developed trauma response to blood (insatiable hunger triggered by its smell).

Found and captured by Hydra operatives/hunters tracking the bear. They took him back to their compound.

Hydra discovered his power: can open tears that summon shadowy arms to drag victims into an abyss - the more people consumed, the more arms he can summon but it becomes more straining.

Because of this power he is used as Hydra’s tool for disposal (erasing evidence, removing witnesses).

Trained as a child soldier, subjected to experiments.

At 12, tried to escape but was caught and locked in a room with a boy having an episode.

Killed the boy in self-defense.

Overwhelmed by bloodlust he cannibalized part of the body after the scent of blood hit.

Years later he was sent on a mission to hunt the original escaped mutant bear.

Bear slaughtered his two comrades and mauled Sasha.

Sasha killed it with a shot to the skull as it bit into his chest.

Left with heavy scars across chest and torso.

By 18, lived semi-independently under Hydra surveillance.

Fell in love with a female Hydra employee who helped plan an escape.

Hydra discovered it and forced Sasha to consume her with his powers, shattering him emotionally.

Became emotionally numb, resigned to Hydra’s control, but deeply broken.

Retasked with shadowing the Winter Soldier on missions to eliminate witnesses.

Noticed flickers of awareness in Bucky’s eyes.

This gave Sasha hope that escape from Hydra was still possible.

Then during CATWS:

Fought Sam Wilson on the helicarrier.

After Bucky pulled Steve from the river, Sasha reconnected with him.

Escaped Hydra with Bucky.

Then in CACW:

When police, Cap, and T’Challa raided the apartment, Sasha shadowed events from the sidelines.

While Steve and T’Challa pursued Bucky, Sasha tracked them quietly with his rifle, trying to protect Bucky from a distance.

Then at the airport as tensions escalated, Sasha intervened when T’Challa attacked Bucky.

Tore open the ground with his powers to disrupt the fight, momentarily pulling Ant-Man and others off-balance.

His interference drew Iron Man’s attention, and Sasha was knocked unconscious mid-battle.

Captured alongside the others and taken to the Raft prison.

Freed later by Steve when he broke the others out of the Raft.

Steve essentially interrogated him knowing he's ex-Hydra

Hard to build trust but eventually Steve convinced the others that Sasha is safe to be around

They still don't completely trust him but they tolerate him I suppose

Sasha goes back into hiding waiting for bucky to return from Wakanda

blah blah blah there's so much more and i'm too lazy to yap about it but eventually sasha overexerts himself during the endgame fight to drag huge amounts of enemies down which caused his powers to start eating at him. as in like a cancer sapping away his strength. so he dies in alaska (43alska reference) years later essentially rotting away like the animals he consumed when he was young.

I project a lot of emotions and stuff onto sasha obviously even though a lot of his story is far-fetched and something u can't relate to (like him eating people etc)

He's also shipped with Bucky but I don't like talking about it publicly because I don't want to be a yume acc 🤫

hey everyone

i might take a bit of time away from the fandom and tumblr in general (not just because of the current issues) I've got a busy couple weeks for university stuff and I just haven't been having fun in this fandom for the past week or so and if I'm not having fun and reading what I wanna read then there's no point in being here for the time being

basically, theres lots of drama in the bucky fandom rn so im just prefacing this with the following points before I get onto my main points and take some time away. this is not meant to come off as mean or targeting or unkind.

i do write my own fanfiction, will continue to do so and will continue with what I want to write

I have studied the english language for 3 years now and have lots of general knowledge of censorship/policing language and language use and it's effect on social expectations and norms

I am not coming after anybody in particular in this post, I'm just saying what I think and what I believe from an educated position

I have blocked and unfollowed and changed my preferences in the app and curated my experience so I don't see stuff I don't want to, but lo to the algorithm, there's still a lot bleeding through so I'm naturally going to have opinions about that

truly, I am not stopping anybody from writing what they want to write. I don't think the policing of language from a single person is ever a good stance to be on the side of but rather should be a social decision/change that a majority agrees with (eg. slurs). I am simply hoping to educate people in this fandom on how their writing can reflect into real life

certain topics (eg. age gaps, rape, cnc, incest etc) are taboo for a reason. not just taboo, most of these are illegal. blurring those lines with an "uncle kink" (not coming after the author of those particular stories, just simply an example) still opens up the world and unknowing audiences to those concepts. you writing about that (even if you don't condone it irl) normalises that sort of dynamic in real life and begins to blur the lines too much

for example, the concept of "dbf" normalises pedophilia and pervertism, especially if the dbf has known reader since previous to the age of legality

this is done through desensitisation and you are not above it no matter how intelligent you are

you cannot hide behind the concept of using it to educate yourself on why these taboo topics are bad. there are so many other ways to educate yourself on it — textbooks on the psychology behind pedophilia, or free libraries with endless books and knowledge on the history of these topics, or tv shows with real regulation and not a site where any old 13 year old could be scrolling (don't even get me started on the regulation of media in this day and age lmao)

this isn't just a problem in the marvel fandom either, it's in tlos, a lot of anime and manga have a long history of pedophilia and a lot of other fandoms with older male characters. it may seem harmless and just a bit of fun until you get real life actors being called "daddy" in interviews and it becomes parasocial, uncomfortable and real (example taken from a pedro pascal interview)

you get books like fifty shades of grey (which is fanfiction of twilight) that normalises sexual abuse which has its own movie and is just as famous as twilight itself.

you get famed authors like colleen hoover who didn't just normalise but romantised domestic abuse (in a book that also got its own movie). plus, she defended her son who sexually assaulted someone and clearly doesn't care nor understand how her carelessness can effect real life

especially in a time where women are sexualized everywhere and with no shame, where pedophiles are presidents and nothing seems to be changing — it becomes serious, and therefore you can't try the "it's not the deep" because now it's evidently bleeding outside the confines of fanfiction

every single form of literature and art bleeds into real society, whether you want to think it does or not. read 1984 if you haven't already and you'll realise that that is currently our reality. we need to be careful about what we're normalising because taboo topics are already becoming normalised in our day to day lives

this definitely isn't a "I'm morally better than you"

this is me saying you need to be concerned about what you're writing because everything is relevant and everything is political. it's extreme but it's real.

if you disagree, then keep writing whatever the hell you want to, I really can't stop you and I'm in no place to try. all I can do is pray you take into consideration what I've said

I won't take any mean response to this seriously. if you have something real to say to oppose what I've said please do I'm always open to constructive criticism, especially when it comes to something as important as this

The way I’ve seen some of these people write him and talk about him is actually fucking insane!!!

No, he would NOT fuck your brains out like a madman, would NOT choke you, would NOT throw you around like a ragdoll, or hit you, or yank your hair, or be super rough, violent, aggressive, and feral. He was literally the fucking Winter Soldier. He has fucking trauma, he would NOT be violent towards his lover. It’s not in his nature.

We literally see him interact with women romantically and he’s so sweet and gentle the entire time. He’s the gentleman type of guy. We literally see that shit on screen, it’s canon. He’s a lover. A serious, traumatized touch-starved, yet sweet gentleman. I can see him being very loving, intense, and passionate as fuck but nothing more.

Some of you people have turned him into a daddy dom human sex doll or some shit, and that’s it. He has no depth, no in-character personality, just sex, dirty talk, sex, and more sex. That’s not what he is.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one that still actually loves him and understands his complex character instead of just lusting.

i had an argument with my friends once over whether a thumb qualifies as a finger, and we all adamantly refused to look it up for a half an hour. the thunderbolts would have this argument

quick reminder that the thunderbolts were all the extremely intelligent highly trained agents and three of them had the super serum, all of them are the best of the best. they would be getting into constant debates over literature, math equations, etc. it’s a fucking nightmare, not to mention that bob is the number one ragebaiter and the best at starting fights

the most random addition i could possibly give: this does not apply to marvel rivals, by the way. marvel rivals is based off of comic lore, but the rivals versions of steve and bucky are from alternative universes, so technically the original comic rule doesn't apply. (plus i'm pretty sure that in rivals bucky's version of steve and steve's version of bucky is dead, which makes for some yummy angst) that being said i do largely agree with this post, but i see why mcu stucky fans come to the conclusion that they do when seeing certain comic panels; they just don't know. and that's perfectly fine.
