I'm not going to post any spoilers for the liveshow except that we did get a "babe" from Orym to Dorian via Sending Stone

I MEANNNNNNNN

On a previous post I noted Riku's specific usage of the word "intertwined" with regard to the legend of the paopu fruit and the braided cord present on the combined keyblade (and to some extent the handles as well.)

This type of braid is consistently used for almost all paopu-related items. In order: Kairi's wayfinder, Namine's star charm, and Oathkeeper's keychain (all related items) as well as the keychain of Destiny's Embrace.

The only exception seems to be Terra, Aqua, and Ven's wayfinders which are just tied with brown rope. But there's also one notable addition that I came across.

Soul Eater.

No one's immune to adding a design element just because it's cool, sure. But considering the presence of the braided cord in Kairi's wayfinder introduced at the very start of KH1, it's not impossible that this was intended to be complementary. Whereas Kairi is able to be open about her desire not to be separated from Sora and gives him her wayfinder freely, Riku keeps this same want hidden and is unable to express it. Riku's jealousy and suppression is his darkness... and Soul Eater is a manifestation of Riku's darkness into a weapon.

It's even facing the same upwards direction as the wayfinder (and the star charm and Oathkeeper, by extension) whereas Destiny's Embrace and the Combined Keyblade face downwards.

Of course my next thought was "is it on Way to Dawn as well?"

...Kind of. This zig-zag design is certainly evocative of it. Also very subtly evocative of it is Braveheart's handle, which is actually a little closer to the pattern on the handles of the Combined Keyblade.

I might even say Oblivion's handle is also very subtly evocative (KH2's and KH3's respectively)

...But this is veering far deeper into pure speculation territory. Curious that all of Riku's associated keyblades have some element of this design to them. Does it really mean something? You decide!

ROBBIE STAYING ON CAST WOULD BE SO AMAZING

so I'm clearly a part of the vast majority that wants robbie to stay for campaign 4 and it's for multiple reasons honestly. he's funny, an amazing actor, the cast loves him. but I think the main reason I want him to stay is because besides dorian, we've only ever seen him play characters for a short amount of time. cerkonos was only there for a few episodes, he was in candela for a little bit, then it's just been some one shots here and there. I would LOVE to see what he could do with another long term character like dorian. like what sort of backstory he could come up with, what personality would he do, what relationships would he go for with other characters, then yk on a basic level too like what race and class would he play. I personally think he has so much to give to another long lasting character and I would really love to see that happen

imagine one day in the future when dorian is older and the call finally comes that he must return to the silken squall to fulfill his duties and lead his people. keyleth sees how much orym loves dorian and knows that his place is with him more than it is with her now. so, she gives orym one final assignment and that is to protect the leader of the silken squall until the end of their days

i’m getting caught up with c3 rn (i’m on episode 119 with predathogen) and the amount of people in the comments being like “c3 needs to end” or “this *specific scene* made me mad” is so wild

like if you don’t like c3, fine it’s whatever, but they just constantly come into the comments to complain and it’s getting annoying lmao. there’s no reason to bring hate into the comments, and no reason to be complaining about everything that happens

a lot of them also constantly say shit like “this is the last episode i’ll watch bc…” and then complain about a billion things that didn’t cater to exactly what they wanted, then the next episode you’ll see other hate comments from them

if you don’t like c3 just stop watching it’s not that hard

I know a 3 for 3 for Laura is great but I think a Dorym silken squall wedding one-shot would eat so incredibly hard

Also, tomorrow marks my one year anniversary of starting Critical Role. This show literally changed my life. I’m so grateful that I get to watch these friends play this game every week, even if I have to wake up at 4 am for it (yes I’m coming out as European I literally willingly wake up every friday at 4 am to watch the new episodes live even though I have Beacon). But anyway enough sappy stuff. This piece (which is my greatest piece ever, let’s be honest) includes a lot of cute details which I will highlight under the cut!

First, these are Dorian and Orym’s full outfits that I had pre-drawn so it would make the process much easier. I did swap out some little things.

Now for the final piece:

- Dorian’s wedding ring includes an emerald (obv bc Orym’s color is green. And it has leaves wrapped around to symbolize Orym’s ties to nature. I did use a lovely reference for this ring from pinterest. Even though Orym’s wedding ring doesn’t show here, I would like to think it has a blue sapphire surrounded by swirly wind designs to symbolize Dorian’s air genasi heritage.

- The embroidery on Dorian’s vest references the day and night cycle, with the sun being highest and the moon being lower. (Also I fucking ate these pearls, they’re stunning)

- Even though Orym’s beautiful tattoo is covered, I still referenced it by ‘carving’ it into his shoulder pauldron. Big moon, little moon.

- Two clothing details on Orym: another Will reference, Orym wears Will’s sash.

- The silken squall wings which are a reference to Dorian’s first outfit.

- And finally, Dorian wears a bunch of flowers in his hair. They’re all white with the exception of a single blue flower. This is in reference to the blue flower Orym druid crafted into Dorian’s hair in one of the very first episodes of the campaign to help Dorian’s performance check. It’s one of their very first cutesy moments, so I thought it was a lovely little detail to include.

of course liam is the one to ask robbie what his new hit points are. OF COURSE HE IS. aah... dorian having flashbacks to when bells hells first met when he takes out the big bad guy with his chromatic orb.... thinking back to when orym was in trouble........ am i still breathing rn (he totally didn't remember how he weakened his brother with it.. right??)) all in all, phase two looking crazy af im so excited. MORE DORYM MOMENTS ARE SOON TO HAPPEN FOR SURE!
