being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

My french is pas bon donc I have to answer to this in English. But I've also felt this for a long time and part of me wonders if Chinomiko doesn't write for AS since the original ended because Beemov sort of forced the IP to continue without her wanting to. AS Highschool Life feels more genuine and it feels like that's the story she wanted to tell, and perhaps she thought continuing into University was too much but Beemov wanted to continue getting that sweet IP money so they did it anyway. I think University Life had some of the heart the original had still, but it slowly went away.
Just my thoughts tho!
Hmmmmmmmm
Tumblr media
Hmmmmmm à méditer....

Hi I want to talk about the Sims 3
As a big fan of the sims franchise and a lover of lore, I've been watching Plumbella's sims iceberg video recently, and one of the Icebergs topics is a sims 3 family called the Doe family. I've seen many theories about this family around the internet, from them being resurrected corpses to them being in the witness protection program, and I actually don't think any of them are right because I have a theory of my own that just makes soooo much sense. So come along this long, looong journey while I explain what is happening with the Doe family from the sims 3.
So a little context: the sims 3 was obviously the sims game prior to the sims 4, and it included something called the sims store where players could buy everything from gameplay items to decor to full worlds. One of the worlds you could buy in the sims 3 store was Midnight Hollow, a very dark and gothic world with a lot of quirky characters like a girl dressed like a living doll, a guy who's meant to be a Marilyn Manson parody, and even the Specter family from the sims 2 in their younger years (Olive as a young woman with her baby Nervous Subject). In this world, one of the weirdest families is actually the most unassuming: the Does. This family is formed by two parents, John Doe and Jane Doe, and their three children: Joseph, the oldest; Jennifer, the young sister; and James, a baby brother. When you first load into their family, Jane discovers she's pregnant with their fourth child.
The reason why the Does have such a mystery around them is because their aesthetic is that of the perfect 1960s family: two loving parents and their healthy three children. So what are these normal looking people doing in the town of freaks and weirdos of Midnight Hollow? Well their description alludes to a dark past, and a missing basement in their house. Their oldest son, Joseph, also has a gardening skill level 10 which has prompted people to suggest he might have killed someone and the family is trying to cover it up, changing their names to Jane Doe and John Doe which are names usually tied to anonimity and unknown identity.
My theory is somewhat simpler but also maybe slightly darker. After taking a look at the Doe family, and as a gothic novel fan myself, I started to notice this family is actually very similar to the Dollangangers from the Dollanganger saga.
For those unfamiliar, the Dollanganger saga is a series of gothic horror books written by american author V.C Andrews. The story takes place between the 60s and the 90s and it begins with the novel Flowers in the Attic. To make a very, very long story short: Christopher and Corrine Dollanganger are the perfect 60s parents to their four children: Chris, Cathy and the twins Carrie and Corey. However, when Christopher dies in a car crash the family sees themselves completely broke, and Corrine decides to take her children back to her parents home, Foxworth Hall. However, there are many secrets that get revealed, like Corrine not getting along with her parents and being disowned. When they arrive at the house the children are actually told to hide in the attic until Corrine's father dies and she inherits the money. This turns out to be the beginning of the children's three years of horrible torture and abuse at the hands of their grandmother, and the lies and gaslighting of their mother, until they realize they must escape or die. The book set off the rest of the saga, with the second book taking place right after the events of the first one and the third taking place years after the second one's end.
So what's the secret this family hides? A lot of incest. Like, a lot. It's not really used in a morbid shocking way, but to demonstrate how generational trauma can be passed on to our children and how we can repeate the mistakes of our parents. Long story short (trust me, this is the best summary I can make because the books are super long and convoluted) Christopher and Corrine where uncle and niece (and half siblings but they didn't know) and Chris and Cathy end up together at the end of the second book, unable to move on from their trauma. Crhis and Cathy decide to move to a different state and change their surname so nobody will know they're siblings, and live as husband and wife to raise Cathy's children (she has with two other men which is very confusing). And so, they become the picture perfect family to their neighbours hiding a dark secret.
So let's look at the similarities: perfect 60s family like the Dollangangers are at the beginning of the series, a dark secret hiding in the family's home, a particular room of the house that hides that secret (in the Does case it's the basement), the names that all start with the same letter (Christopher, Corrine, Cathy, Chris, Corey and Carrie/John, Jane, Jennifer, Joseph, James). Their surnames also sound a little similar (Dollanganger, Doe).
So my theory is essentially that the Does lived in that house as children and were abused in the house's basement. John and Jane are, thus, siblings and decided to move back to their home but removed the basement to move on from their horrible past. And Joseph's weird behaviour? Well this also ties to the Dollangangers, because Cathy's children, Jorey and Bart, end up discovering their parents are related (and also that Chris isn't their father) and Bart specifically takes it really badly. Joseph might have discovered his parents are related and is very taken aback by it which is why he's so angry and his behaviour is so strange. Perhaps the gardening skill he has shows he dug up the basement of the house and that's how he found out about the family secret.
TLDR: the Doe family is a refference to Flowers in the Attic, which means John and Jane are siblings lol. Also yes the Dollangager saga is a horror saga if any book retailer tags it as 'romance' they're WRONG.

Yeah talking to someone you've wronged in the past so you can make amends might make you very anxious for a moment but have you EVER felt the anxiety, the pure TERROR that comes from asking somebody to pay you for something you sold them or ask them for money they owe you ?? Trully the worst kind of horror beyond my human comprehension I've ever felt.

Boomers don't care about the quality of music from the 70s and 80s, they only care about wether or not it sounds familiar to them and i'll DIE on this hill.
I was once on a family reunion, like Christmas I think or something, and my dad and uncle who love criticizing modern music were playing 80s songs. I asked if I could play one and put a song by Heart, you know, the iconic 80s band that's very well known but not-as-well-known because the two leads are women?
My uncle reacted by asking 'what is this shit' and I told him it was a very popular 80s band so... there, they don't care about wether or not music is better or worse they only care about the music they personally listened to (which many times is just music made by men lol but that's a topic for another day)

Partially why I question a lot of autistic and neurodivergent discourse when it comes to socialising is because I wonder how much culture and cultural norms impact that socialization.
I also believe that socialization has so many micro norms that not even neurotipicals understand or follow sometimes that it trully makes me wonder if 'being an introvert' is just being exhausted from all socializing feeling like a performance.
EDIT: Editing because I'm talking to a friend about this and he mentioned that being queer also inherently impacts how you socialize so I figured it also makes sense to mention it here.

I tried (and failed) to draw this picture of Ann Wilson. I didn't focus much on the lighting bc recently i've been trying to focus more on faces and getting people's likeness in my own style and such and I don't think I was entirely successful but hey, that's why I'm learning it!
I do love Heart with a burning passion so when I saw this STUNNING pic of Ann I just had to draw her like omg that face that hair the lighting everything -

This is a hard pill to swallow but all of that historical research you're doing about how pest control worked in the 1820s for your historical fiction novel is not necessary my love and I also don't care if what they're eating is historically accurate

Idc if you think Lily Tino isn't really trans what I DO care about is why you think that's the important conversation to be having. I have never seen someone claim Brigitte Macron is not a real woman because she's a creep yet when it's a trans woman doing problematic things the conversation is never 'She did this horrible thing' and always 'Oh they're not a real trans like I AM' and I just... want you all to wonder why that is.
Also give me a reason that isn't 'she makes us look bad/she's the reason they hate us!' bc no she isnt. You're still a tranny to any transphobe wether you're a beautiful wonderful angel or a terrible person so WHY do you actually care?
