Lots of non-autistic individuals know that autism itself can affect a person’s mental health, personality, language abilities and sensory processing. But less of them know that autism can also directly affect gross motor skills (Walking, running, lifting things, etc.) and fine motor skills (Writing, tying shoelaces, using a spoon, etc.). Lots of people undereducated on autism think it’s just a thing that has mental traits when in reality, it can greatly affect physical traits and skills too! I always look down when walking to avoid tripping on ground objects, I can’t do typical typing (On a keyboard, I peck one key at a time, my typing classes in elementary school didn’t help), I’d say my biggest concern between the 2 is my fine motor skills (I get very frustrated using my hands, I hated sewing class). I love video games like Pokémon but I’m bad at quick decision making (In Legends Arceus, I couldn’t play because it was too much too fast, I prefer the turn based system of the main games). My processing is somewhat slow and being under pressure doesn’t help. Overall, I’m still looking into doing special motor exercises and activities at 23, even if I don’t get better, at least I won’t get worse

Are you aware of ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ?
"This site is a multigenerational home for the Indigenous peoples of Florida, and it is not the home of a harmful and unnecessary prison." - Friends of the Everglades
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source
“Alligator Alcatraz” is an immigrant detention center being built illegally in the Big Cypress Preserve of the Florida Everglades to house 5,000 people in tents in summer, with plans to use alligators and snakes as opposed to walls and buildings as a deterrent to the people being kidnapped, trafficked, and contained.
“State authorities project that the center will be operational at the beginning of July, with an initial capacity of at least 1,000 detainees and a gradual expansion thereafter”
As of 6/26: Construction has already started and has been connected to LOGISTIC EVENT CORPS and US TENT RENTAL. FL National Guard and Highway Patrol have been sent to “secure the perimeter and entry points of Alligator Alcatraz”. Homeland Security is largely funding it with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) using its Shelter and Service Program, which usually allocates money to governments and nonprofits to “provide migrants with temporary shelter, food and transportation”.
There are 15 Miccosukee and Seminole villages in Big Cypress, which also supplies 40% of their drinking water, but the tribes WERE NOT CONSULTED and EXPLICITLY OPPOSE construction.
The Mayor of Miami is opposing construction until environmental impact assessments are done and is reportedly considering legal action
“Levine Cava also reported that the state of Florida offered only 20 million dollars for the property, while its most recent appraisal exceeds 190 million”
DeSantis has claimed the project has zero environmental impacts, which has been vehemently denied by environmentalists:
"There will be impact because sewage will be generated, water will be used, and it will create light pollution affecting the habitat” - Eve Samples, Executive Director of Friends of the Everglades
“She also contends the state failed to follow proper procedure by skipping a required environmental review before building a federal facility. Samples raised additional alarm over the threat to endangered species, noting that Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) maps show panthers living in the area.”
“In addition to the criticisms of the immigration plan itself, construction in this region -considered ecologically sensitive- could cause irreversible damage to the ecosystem of the Everglades, one of the most important natural reserves in the United States.” [x]
In 1969, Marjory Stoneman Douglas founded Friends of the Everglades to stop construction in the same location based on the findings of the 1st ever environmental impact study done in FL and was successful
"Development of the proposed jetport and its attendant facilities will lead to land drainage and development for agriculture, transportation, and services in the Big Cypress Swamp which will inexorably destroy the south Florida ecosystem and thus the Everglades National Park."
US President Ford established Big Cypress National Preserve in 1974 In order to “assure the preservation, conservation, and protection of the natural, scenic, hydrologic, floral and faunal, and recreational values of the Big Cypress Watershed”

Use these exactly, or use pieces, or base your own message on them - as long as you contact ASAP
Friends of the Everglades: “Dear Gov. DeSantis and Attorney General Uthmeier, Don’t make the same mistake Florida avoided 55 years ago. I’m urging you to STOP the reckless plan to build an “Alligator Alcatraz” detention center in the heart of the Everglades. This land is critical to the future of the Everglades — that’s why thousands of Floridians joined forces to stop the Everglades Jetport from paving over this very ground in 1970. Now Attorney General Uthmeier wants to do what even President Nixon’s administration knew was wrong: open the door to development in one of America’s most fragile and iconic ecosystems, surrounded by Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve. You have the power to stop this anti-Everglades proposal, and I’m calling on you to use it. NO AIRPORTS. NO ROCK MINES. NO PRISONS on this land. ONLY EVERGLADES! Sincerely, [your info here]”
Jessica Namath: “My name is (name] and I'm calling to ask that you help protect our nation's FIRST National Preserve - Big Cypress - and stop "Alligator Alcatraz". The Everglades are no place for ANY 1,000 person facility. The infrastructure can't support it, and the impacts to the indigenous community and ecosystem would be catastrophic. Please oppose this terrible idea!”
Sierra Club FL Chapter: “Dear Governor DeSantis - You have repeatedly claimed to be a defender of the Everglades. Now is the moment to back up those words with action. The proposed “Alligator Alcatraz” ICE facility would devastate a vital part of the Everglades — undoing decades of restoration progress and wasting billions of taxpayer dollars already invested in protecting this unique ecosystem. This project threatens to destroy the very heart of the River of Grass, undermining the hard work of generations of advocates and scientists dedicated to restoring Florida’s natural heritage. I urge you to listen to the thousands of Floridians who stand against this plan. Show real leadership by rejecting this harmful project and fully committing to protecting and restoring the Everglades for future generations. The time to act is now. Stop Alligator Alcatraz, and stand by your promise to protect the Everglades. Sincerely, [your info here]”
Friends of the Everglades provide this to contact DeSantis and Uthmeier. You can also email DeSantis through his website, or use the contact info below:
DeSantis Mailing Address: The Capitol / 400 South Monroe St. / Tallahassee, FL 32399-0001 | DeSantis Phone: (850)717-9337 or (850)488-7146
Uthmeier Mailing Address: Office of the Attorney General / State of Florida /!PL-01, The Capitol / Tallahassee, FL 32399-1050 | Uthmeier Phone: (866)966-7226
Call the companies involved and confront their complicity, demanding they stop their service
US Tent Rental (Sarasota, FL): (941)727-3311
Logistics Event Corps (SweetWater, FL): (305)232-8368
BTW DeSantis has already said he wants to build another detention center at Camp Blanding, 30 miles West of Jacksonville, in Northeast FL

Over the years the Fallout fandom definitely has slowly crept further into a “moral high ground over suspension of disbelief” space. I see a lot of people discussing their opinions of Fallout through the lens of their own personal morals that they’d apply to their own life, which is… Strange to me. I feel like dystopian media especially is not the sort of thing you should be judging by your own real life standards. Most things in Fallout are extreme. Most of the factions do extreme things. A lot of the things people do in Fallout would be considered inhumane, cruel or uncanny by modern standards. Because it’s a post-apocalyptic dystopia.
This isn’t me saying “everyone in Fallout is evil, stop expecting otherwise,” because I don’t believe that to be the case. Even good-willed people in Fallout do shit that would be considered extreme by modern standards. I just see a lot of people shying away from discussing the “grittier” aspects of the franchise because it might for whatever reason imply you condone those things in real life.

Hey major shout-out to my fellow trans Jews. This year has been hell and it's hard not to feel like we've been completely abandoned, betrayed, shut out, and made unsafe across the full political spectrum.
I'm so sorry; we deserved better. I hope you're okay and standing strong - we will get through this together 🕎 🏳️‍⚧️ ✡️

not voting isn’t “burning the system down” you absolute dipshits. if you actually wanted to burn the system down you’d literally be burning down the homes of congressmen, but most of y’all don’t actually want that, you just want to roleplay as a radical online for cookie points from the other members of your self-righteous hypocritical circlejerk.
your glorious revolution isn’t coming because you’re too goddamn chickenshit to actually revolt. go and actually fucking do something or just shut the fuck up

Statement on National Bi+ Erasure
The current U.S. administration has been loudly and aggressively attacking the trans community in ways that have taken center stage in all of our news feeds. We have been standing in solidarity with our trans, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming, and intersex siblings as politicians the world over try to erase this vibrant community from our collective history and culture. This heightened climate of transphobia endangers lives, undermines civil rights, and is an affront to humanity.
And make no mistake: those who would attack the trans community have always intended to come for every single letter of the acronym.
Alongside the explicit attacks on things like gender-affirming care and the right to transition, we’re now experiencing a quiet and methodical erasure of bisexual history by the Trump administration as well.
Journalist Erin Reed has brought attention to the fact that, without much fanfare, the National Park Service has removed all references to bisexuals from its Stonewall National Monument webpages. Originally reading “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ+),” the website was first altered to remove all uses of “transgender” and strike the ‘TQ+’ from “LGBTQ+”.
It now reads: “Stonewall was a milestone for gay and lesbian civil rights that provided momentum for a movement.” All references to “bisexual” have been excluded.
As an organization dedicated to helping build up a thriving bi+ community, we have a lot to say about bisexual erasure. We are no strangers to attempts to exclude us from the broader queer community, and we are not going anywhere quietly. Bi+ people have always been here, and we will always be here. Those who took the digital whiteout to the national Stonewall website should be ashamed of what they’ve done, but they should also know that there’s no victory for them on the other side of such actions. We’re not going anywhere, and we will make sure that future generations know where we have been.
To every bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, and queer person out there: you are far too valuable to ever be erased or forgotten. Bi+ history is LGBTQ+ history. We will never stop telling our stories and recognizing each other. No administration or government will keep us from fighting for our collective future and appreciating the unique place we occupy in our societal rainbow.
And to all our lesbian, gay, trans, ace, and other queer families: we are here for you and we hope you will be here for us in turn. We need each other. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain from standing hand-in-hand with our fellow LGBTQ+ community members, facing every threat in solidarity. Our stories have always been intertwined, and so are our hopes for a better, safer, and more rightfully inclusive future.
In solidarity,
The Bisexual Resource Center

Theres an attempt to smear pedro pascals image by saying he makes women uncomfortable by touching them and I guarantee the people saying that are incel losers who creep women out and have never touched a woman in their life
I have heard it started on twitter which doesn’t surprise me but godddd how disgusting and disappointing, ESPECIALLY bc there’s several and pretty recent interviews of his co-stars who are women who have nothing but amazing things to say about Pedro and how he made them feel on set!
It also comes at a time when he’s been very outspoken about trans rights and anti-fascism so it’s very interesting that all these nasty people have come out of the woodwork to smear his name as if he isn’t a genuinely good hearted human being from what he’s shown and told the public and an embodiment of the qualities so many women and people in general want to see in men when the modern day reality really has been giving ‘incels everywhere’
Also a part of this I know people are misconstruing is that in Latin American/Hispanic culture we are affectionate and loving in how we display care or emotion and I cannot stand how that can be demonized and misunderstood and it lowkey leaves a sour taste in my mouth that reeks of racial undertones (the latino man making white women uncomfortable narrative) but that’s also not a surprise given everything going on towards latino communities lately
Like the switch up is crazyyyy, I’ve seen people which are probably bots but regardless say that he’s overhyped now or he ruined things by talking about politics like 🙄 yeah I know exactly what you are when you say stuff like that, red fucking flag!
They’re doing all that just to not believe women who have and do come forward when someone has made them uncomfortable or harassed them like oh okay

Thinking about domestic butchfemme life as a stay at home butch partner-
Like having my femme come home, exhausted from work, and just cooking dinner for her, letting her sit down and do absolutely nothing while she tells me everything about her day, what she’s thinking, what she’s reading at the moment, her favourite shows, literally anything I just want to hear her voice.
I want to feel her long nails scratch my head through my hair and send me to sleep. I want to kiss her and end up with lipstick everywhere. I want to spend hours with her, shopping and buying her whatever she wants. I wanna help her style outfits when we go out together. I want my friends to get so annoyed with how much I talk about her.

the most realistic part of mr robot in terms of DID rep is that despite elliot quite literally saying he loses time, hallucinates people (his FATHER WHO ELLIOT SAID TRAUMATISED HIM), he has a history of blacking out (how they started therapy in the first place), and doesn't remember entire gaps of his life, krista still doesn't bring up dissociative identity disorder. krista that man's identity is clearly fucking dissociated, DO SOMETHING.
