As someone who cannot understand the sexual attraction of Logan, for he looks like my dad, I present: Logan being a trauma dad.

Logan doesn't remember any of the X-Men birthdays, but he knows exactly what smells upset them and which will help them calm down.

Logan doesn't know where any of their family member's names, but he remembers the reason why Scott and Jean cry on the day of the crashes.

Logan can't tell you what they're studying or teach, but he knows what their hearts sound like when they get in too deep.

Logan doesn't recall who is dating who, but he remembers who hurt them for being different.

Logan trashtalks Scott because it makes Cyclops feel human for a moment, like more than a tool for the mutant cause.

Logan can tell you exactly how long he can touch Rogue before he starts dying, because even a moment of comfort helps her sleep at night.

Logan can tell the difference between Jean and the Phoenix, and treats them as individuals, because they deserve at least that.

Logan acts more animalistic around Kurt because it reminds him that his demonic appearance doesn't make him one.

Logan lets Hank ramble about his experiments despite clenching up every time because as much as science scares him, Hank needs someone to listen without looking at his fur in pity.

Logan will send Charles on a wild goose chase to get him away from the school, so he remembers he's not a general, but a principal.

Logan will sing Egyptian and Wakandan songs with Storm when her heart aches for her homes.

Logan travels with the girls on shopping trips despite hating the mall in case someone decides to target them, either as mutants or as women, so they don't have to when they should have fun.

Logan attends every sport event the school has despite understanding nothing, because these kids need someone to support them.

Logan doesn't know what to say when the kids start crying, but he wraps around them protectively, growling at anyone who gets too close.

Logan can't say he cares about them, but he paces through the mansion at night, listening to their heartbeats and breaths to make sure they're still alive.

Logan won't admit it, but every time they lose another X-Men, he mourns for months, lamenting the death of another friend, another student, another child.

Logan will never say it, but he will do anything his kids ask him to.

One thing i've run up against when dealing with fandom and characters making less than ideal choices is that people seem to treat a character's decision being sympathetic, the decision being understandable, the decision being reasonable, and it being objectively the best solution for the situation, as synonymous. When those are 4 very different things.

I can't stop thinking of an AU where instead of killing Lenore Dove, Snow has her arrested for her 'crimes' and sent to the capitol to become an avox. A fate that, to her at least, is probably much worse.

Maybe Snow has her work in the tribute center too. Every year she can see Haymitch, and he can see her, but they are not able to touch, or talk. No comfort, just a reminder of what you can't have.

It is a threat, how he keeps Haymitch in line. The reminder that he can, at any time, make Lenore Dove's life worse. Haymitch spends years and years trying to think of a way to get her out, to save her, and keeps coming up with nothing. At least until the main trilogy.

Wouldn't that be, like, the worst, most fucked up, and tragic AU?

i think people so often forget that saiki is very against playing god, sometimes hes a silly little guy and goes against his rules just a little but it takes a lot for him to SERIOUSLY play god. he uses his powers to do little, easy, usually insignificant things but not usually big ones.

if saiki went back in time or changed the world to solve every single one of his problems and every single characters problems, he wouldnt be the person he is 😭 the one time he did that was over the most traumatic moment of his life... and you want him to do that casually every tuesday or what?

I can't remember if it was said anywhere but are we ever gonna get the exact reason why Bess isn't willing to join Cedar in the clan (if there's more to it than what she said when they first met about oakclan)? Or if it's not a spoiler territory, what is the reason? 👀

It's mostly just what happened with Oakclan + the fact that she's lived on her own for long enough that she's been able to completely demonize the clans in her own mind. She imagines joining the clan would immediately mean being judged for everything she does, being told what to do at every moment, and losing everything she enjoys about her life.

She hasn't even tried to imagine a scenario where living with them would be good, because she just doesn't want to do it

the supersons fic that lives rent free in my mind is where post-warworld, jon is struggling to connect with otho and osul ra. they're kids from a brutal planet, struggling to adjust to earth life, but in trying to help with them, jon realizes how much he's struggling to adjust to life on earth. he's supposed to be helping teach these kids how to read english and their time tables but hello? he barely finished third grade! and he just can't deal with why spending time with them feels so daunting so he...doesn't.

instead he decides that the perfect solution is to finally get his GED. sure he never finished third grade but he's a super teen! how hard could it be? and he knows the perfect person to help him study, who might also be able to give him some tips on the whole 'suddenly being a brother thing'...

meanwhile damian is in his 'i don't wanna go to high school' arc from batman and robin and getting a GED actually seems like the perfect solution actually.
