📚 How I Study German with Lingoda (online school)
I’ve been learning German with Lingoda, and over time I’ve created a strategy that really works for my brain — not just to pass lessons, but to actually understand and remember what I’m learning.
🌟 Before I Start a New Chapter
I always begin with vocab prep.
I go through all the lessons in the chapter and collect vocabulary.
→ I sort the words into topics (e.g. food, visiting doctor, holidays)
→ I use Notion to build vocab lists — with lots of emojis to help my brain make visual connections 🧠💡
→ This way, I already feel familiar with the words before they come up in class
📖 Before Each Class
I check the lesson material ahead of time.
If there’s any new grammar topic, I:
→ add it to my “Grammar” page in Notion
→ summarize the rules
→ add color + emojis + tables 😂
It takes a few minutes, but it helps me feel less lost when class starts.
🧠 Flashcards for Grammar
Some grammar topics are hard. So I…
→ Create flashcards for the tricky ones
→ Color-code and categorize them in a flashcard box
→ This makes it super easy to find the rule I need — even during class
✏️ During Class
I keep my notes minimal — I focus mostly on writing down:
→ new words
→ expressions I’ve never heard
→ corrections the teacher gives
If I say something wrong, I repeat it correctly right away. This helps me remember faster — like mental muscle memory
🧹 After Class = My Favorite Part
Once class is over, I take all my messy notes and plug them into my vocab & grammar pages.
Everything goes back into my chapter master list, which helps me track what I’ve actually learned.
It’s like cleaning up after a mental storm — and it helps me own the content.
📝 Disclaimer
This post is not an ad or collaboration with Lingoda.
I’m currently studying German through this platform and genuinely enjoy the structure it gives me — though, like with any method, there are both pros and cons.
I just wanted to share what’s working for me right now 💬✨

Ways to be Productive after School.
1. Take a break & relax about 40 mins or so.
2. Have a To-do list so that you don't have a excuse to procrastinate and get straight into studying.
3. Listen to music (especially, white noise or lofi beats) while studying which does not have lyrics so that it would not distract you.
4. Start off with the easiest subject so that it will build momentum and you could keep going.
5. If any of these are not working right now then you should watch study with me videos so that you have an online buddy to study with.
6. Get inspiration to study on Instagram or Pinterest, whenever you will see something inspiring about studies you will be down to do it.
7. Set rewards for yourself. When you know that after studying a particular topic, you will be rewarded then you are more interested to do it.
8. Don't have a start time instead have a end time, this is called the Parkinson’s law where you give yourself a deadline.

What's The Best Way To Split Up Language Learning When Learning 2+ Languages At The Same Time?
For example, I'm currently studying Spanish and Korean and will be re adding Japanese in a few months. I currently try to do specific days for specific languages but find myself doing a little of both a day.

Today was a productive day.
I started reading a book about journalism, ran seven kilometers (this is a long distance for me), finished writing a chapter of my book and continued reading the book in Polish.
In the evening I want to finish reading the chapter of the marine insurance textbook, because today I have not done anything related to my work yet.
I think the day went great.

Winter Break Goals:
Organize!!
- I’ve been busy studying for my finals, ACT, and SAT so now that it’s break it’s the perfect time to clean and organize my space. I’m also gonna be decluttering and getting rid of everything that I don’t love.
Draw!!
- Now that I’m done with the semester I have more time to create art!🎉 My goal is to get a rough draft of the first chapter of a comic I’m working on completed, along with designing some new fashions.
Study!!
- I’m going to begin studying Korean and Japanese. I’m very determined to learn both quickly, so from now on I’ll be studying them both very hard.

서구 - 서양 - 서방: difference
서구, 서양, and 서방 are all frequently translated as "the West", but as tends to be the case in Korean, there are differences in meaning
서구 - this has an old 한자 for Europe, and it used to refer to Western Europe, though it is now commonly used synonymously with 서양
서양 - the West as most Western people would understand it: (Western and Northern) Europe, North America, and Australia + Aotearoa NZ, though there is an issue of people including different countries in their understanding of 서양
서방 - can be used synonymously with "first world" to include, for example, Japan and South Korea, which are not technically part of the West as a geographical concept, but part of the "first world". Here, too, there is the issue of some countries being included or excluded based on the person (an example listed by the person posting the original Korean explanation were the Baltic countries or Hong Kong)
(information taken from this post, which really helped make it clearer for me!)
나는야 서구 사람이고 서양 사람이고 서방 사람이 다 맞군

16/100 days of productivity - April 28
Tumblr media
I am still doing very little at day. I had a very bad issue to my intestine, but now seems it is going better. As result, I did almost nothing also today.
I wrote in my journals, I did some lessons on Duolingo with Russian language. That’s all.
Now I want to read and maybe watch a video lesson or study Russian on slides. I will not push too much myself.
Goodnight 🍀
PS: I wanna rewatch “Lucky Star”.
