The protesters have taken “an extremist, maximalist, inflammatory, unreasonable, and totally illogical approach which is harmful to the pro-Palestinian cause,” wrote Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, a Gaza-born Palestinian analyst who has lost a staggering 31 members of his own family in recent months. Via social media, Alkhatib urges the demonstrators to stop “wasting time with slogan-driven and maximalist activism that does nothing”, and instead to “use your western privilege to actually help the Palestinian people and promote a pragmatic path forward by engaging Israeli and Jewish audiences”. For him, it’s clear that that pragmatic path leads to two states, Israel and Palestine, side by side. As a demand, it does not deliver the same transgressive thrill as calling for an all-Arab, Jew-free Palestine.

I don't know which Palestinians would prefer, since their voices have been muffled by media and only these bright students have been able to drive the point home and occupy the public space on their behalf 👏🏼. Protests AND savvy use of privilege?... anything is good at this point that gets Palestinians heard. 👍🏼

The UK's Mass Grave Blindspot

Months ago, the establishment British media largely lost interest in reporting on the continuing slaughter in Gaza. The contrast with the media’s early coverage of Ukraine has been stark. The discovery of a mass grave containing some 100 bodies in the Kyiv suburb of Bucha - blamed on Russian troops - caused international outrage.(...)

The general indifference of British media outlets to the mass graves found in Gaza is hugely convenient for Britain’s two main political parties. 

It's also hugely convenient to the British crown who half of their royals are playing the victim card by spontaneously all declaring themselves deathly ill for sympathy. No accountability there for creating this massacre.

Pro-Palestine French politician Mathilde Panot persecuted

Panot is the leader of the biggest left-wing parliamentary group in the French parliament, France Unbowed (La France Insoumise/LFI), which has been outspoken in condemning the war on Gaza since 7 October. Panot denounced the investigation as unprecedented. “It is the first time in the history of the French republic that the head of an opposition group in parliament is summoned for such a serious reason on the basis of fallacious accusations,” she said.

... the Secretary of State for Business and Trade last reviewed and approved arms sales to Israel on 8 April, three months after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) opened an instigation into possible genocide carried out by the apartheid state. (...)

Notably, a determination that Israel is in violation of International Humanitarian Law would require the UK to suspend any arms sales to Israel.
