New Love Interest?

I mentioned this previously, but Paper Trails is TIK; it follows the same basic storyline and the same(ish) main character, but it's been revamped to tell a better story, in my opinion. And so all the love interests are still the same, though I've added one new character to the roster, making it six LIs in total ヽ(´▽`)/

You can pursue all of them (or none of them) individually, and at some point you may even get an option to pursue them in pairs ;) Which brings up the previous 8 routes to a grand total of 10 routes, including the no-romance option <3

hi! i'm a new anon and just found the game and i ADORE IT. question: what's the ros biggest insecurity? and how would they react to the mc telling them that it's the mc's favorite part about them? sorry if this has been asked before and i hope you have a lovely day/night! <3

I know this ask is four years old and therefore aged enough to be on the cusp of childhood, but I still want to answer it dvnjf Of course, this is for the new versions of the characters, plus the new LI, so it'll likely be a bit different compared to how you know the characters to be from playing TIK, but it should still hold up quite well. In the interest of not spoiling too much, here's some more charming/harmless insecurities that make sense for MC to enjoy:

Fleur: How quiet she is. It's been a long time since she took the time to get to know someone with the intention of liking them, and she more often than not she's just really unsure what to say. If MC told her they like this about her, she would probably grunt and be like 'Sure you do,' but internally she would be pleased that MC doesn't expect her to change all at once

Sohl: How awkward he is. He really doesn't like being perceived as anything other than straight-laced and in control of whatever situation he's in, so it bothers him that he's so clumsy when he and MC start getting closer. If MC said they liked that about him, he'd be embarrassed because it tells him they've noticed how he is, though he would also accept it as MC truly liking him.

Atlas: How clingy he is. Atlas is like that with everyone he trusts, and most people respond well to his somewhat overbearing nature, but he still worries it's too much. If MC said they liked it, he'd privately be over the moon, but to MC he would say something like 'Be that as it may, I still need to learn to be less clingy,' and he'd mean it, but the fact that MC is okay with it would cause him to procrastinate.

???: How much of a perfectionist they are. They can definitely be too much when it comes to doing things how they deem to be the 'right way'. They're trying to be more relaxed and just let MC take things at their own pace, so even if MC liked this about them, they would still make it their personal mission to chill out (They'd appreciate the sentiment though)

Inna: How relaxed she is. Sometimes Inna feels like people get the impression she doesn't care about doing things well or what-have-you, but she just doesn't see the point in beating herself up over things in front of other people. So, she can come off lax, borderline negligent, but in her head she's worrying nonstop. She would really appreciate an MC that doesn't mind this part of her.

Milo: How they don't like to be touched. Especially not by surprise. They're okay with casual and even intimate touching when they know it's going to happen, but surprise hugs or even taps on the shoulder make them jump. They'd want to be more open to it, especially if in a relationship with MC, and similarly to Fleur they feel more comfortable with an MC who doesn't mind them taking their time.

To be honest, this is the first time in a long time that I've visited my inbox, and the sheer influx of people who have wished me well over the years is truly heartwarming <3

I'm really sorry that I left you guys hanging for so long, but I'm here now, and I don't intend to just disappear again njdfv The past few years have been extremely busy and difficult for me. My health was really struggling, partly because of covid and partly because of this minor surgical procedure that was supposed to help me but ended up not really doing that. And of course, there's no rest for the weary, so I had to finish my degree and work my job through all that

I won't go into too much detail, but I'm in a much better place now, physically and emotionally. Thank you guys so much for being so patient and sticking with my project even though it hasn't been updated in so long o(╥﹏╥)o I feel awful that so many of you were hopeful that the game would be continued only for me to vanish off the face of the Earth

But again, I'm here now, and I want to finish this project more than I want anything else in my life fvnjn I'm logging off for the day, but please look forward to Paper Trails, and I hope that life treats you all as well as it can <3

Thank you so much for your support <3 Yes, Paper Trails is the same(ish) as The Immortal Kingdom but revamped. The basic idea is the same, but I've changed some things around to hopefully tell a more complete, more fulfilling story

Don't worry, the cast you know and love are still there and the LIs are still romanceable (in fact there's one extra LI in this new version ;)) Everyone's just been given a makeover and in some cases their personalities have seen some changes in the name of deeper character lore fdjfj

I'm sorry nfvn I know I've been gone for like three or four entire years now. There was a lot going on for me and I only recently just got back into revamping the game (Hence the blog name changes and the new pfp and everything) I'll explain more if you guys want me to, but for now I'm just trying to figure out how I want to release the official demo for the game and how to introduce all the changes and such. Rest assured, I have not abandoned this game. I think I've said this before, but regardless of whatever's going on in my personal life, I'm gonna finish this game if it's the last thing I do fnjvdn

The tail end of last year was super challenging for me, and I’m still stuck in assignment/assessment limbo right now so the start of 2022 is already busy busy busy, but I’m holding out hope that it goes generally better than last year

I hope that for all of you too. 2021 was a hard year for a lot of people, emotionally, mentally, physically, financially, and if you were one of those people who had a difficult time then I sincerely congratulate you for making it this far <3 Seriously, I’m proud of everyone for dealing with a year like 2021

With any luck 2022 will be a lot better, I’m hoping that it goes easier and snoother for all of us this time around and I wish you all every happiness in the world for the new year as well as for the rest of it (* ^ ω ^)

As for how I am nvfjd I made a public post little while ago on my Patreon (this one) kind of explaining my situation right now and I meant to link it to this Tumblr sooner, but my computer actually stopped working (the adapter on my charger was broken so my laptop wouldn't charge and it died) and I got preoccupied trying to fix that and forgot to update Tumblr dvfjn whoops

But as a kind of after update, I'm out of self-isolation already and I am no longer sick, I got my new charger so my laptop is working again, and I am currently catching up on my assignments and homework so yeah fnvjd that's what my weekend will consist of I guess

Hey, hope you're doing well! I've got a question about Fleur. In chapter three, if you take her with you to GG, there are two instances of accidental contact (and one more that is technically on purpose, but only because it was kind of necessary). She seems striken, almost embarrassed in these moments. Is it habit because she's friends with Milo? Or is it because you and her are essentially strangers and she believes in boundaries when possible? Thank you for everything you do!

It's something of a combination of both. Fleur doesn't have many friends that are physically affectionate, so she's really not used to being touched casually or having someone invade her space. At the same time, she'd be more open to this if she and MC knew each other well, which they don't at that point, so the fact that their near strangers is playing a part in her awkwardness

hello hello ✨ I was wondering, let's say all the ros are on a roadtrip and each get a specific time to put on a song/album/artist on, who would they choose? and who would just not even enter the car?

Oooh road trip! I love this question, so I'm gonna add a little bit of info, namely what role they all take in the roadtrip vfdnj

Fleur will put on acoustic guitar song covers for the entirety of her turn. Also, she wants to drive because she likes to, but Atlas bans her on account of the fact that her license expired years ago

Sohl doesn't even want to go. Refuses for a good hour before he finally gives in so that people will stop annoying him about it. Passes all music decisions onto Atlas and spends the whole trip complaining in the passenger's seat when it's Atlas's turn to drive or catching up on sleep when it's not (he needs more sleep, the boy is deprived)

Atlas is designated driver number one, so he gets to pick the music first. He'll play a lot of Coldplay, Gallant, and OneRepublic because he just really likes that soft rock sound for when he's on the road. When he's not driving and someone else is playing music, he stares out the window and his own music on in his earphones

Inna is designated driver number two, and she mostly plays anime theme songs. When it's not that, she constantly switches between genres, musicians, decades with seemingly no rhyme or reason, playing whatever she likes. She also tries to start a poker game in the back when she's not driving so she can win (steal) all Fleur's money, but she won't succeed

Milo is designated driver number three, and they play a bunch of electronic/dance music which is frequently interspaced with indie music, stuff like Dayglow and boy pablo. While not driving, they eventually rage quit out of card games if they lose too much and instead try to take pictures of passing landscapes

This may be a spoilery question that you cannot answer but... to me, the title "Love the Guard, Be the King" implies that Mathias cannot do both- He cannot love/be with the Dragon Commander and be an effective king. Is that true? (I completely respect your vision and creative choices, and will love the story no matter what, but I just want them all to be happy in the end!!)

bvfdh Fleur is kinda possessive of nicknames, especially from MC if they get together so if, say, MC calls her 'my lover' and someone else used it she'd be like "What? You don't get to say that, only MC gets to say that to me"
