Started taking private commissions again for the first time in like... 7 years, trying to fix my portfolio a bit and enjoy this spooky lad done for Akary. Been a bit disenfranchised with painting in general but having fun commissions helps a lot.

We hit our 45K stretch goal! That unlocks getting the novel that caelum sky is based on (the one all up on this tumblr), into print! The kickstarer has a reduced rate for the books as well, as a thank you to all the folks that have put us over five and a half times our goal! We've got just 5 days left to go and we're 483 dollars away from 50 K and from unlocking more free swag per backer!

They're not able to eat food, haha. At best they might be able to like...mush food around, but they wouldn't be able to eat it. They could eat food on their own plane of existence, there's a tree in heaven that just drops food, but there's no real digestion or biological process happening. Same with demons, they could technically eat angels, but it's not like they'd poop anything out, they'd just kinda...absorb I guess.

So for the current chapter on Caelum Sky, I've been painting bigger backgrounds to help speed up production. This room, which we'll spend some time in, (and don't mind the jam, i'm sure it's fine) I used Floorplanner.com to design a room, then use some screenshots as a basis for painting, like so:

It's also been nice to put in less realistic lighting and i've enjoyed figuring out something fun and spooky.

This background alone got about 35 uses in chapter 10. They're not the only things I use as a background, I usually will do bigger shots one way, and then paint in the background fully if we twist or look elsewhere. But they've been a lifesaver. (this basement one wasn't designed in floorplanner)

For this one I found a great book brush that's saved me probably hours of drawing many tiny rectangles. Thought it might be interesting to folks!

So Caelum Sky is going to be kickstarting it's second book! Publicly we're on page 312. (on tumblr it's 118, i'm very far behind) And on Patreon we're on 332!

I'll be posting a link to join the list to get notified about the kickstarter soon-ish (sometime this week, probably) but for now have some spoilers of our character Palug as a 6 ft plush. Originally was gonna offer this as a stretch goal but folks seem excited for it so it'll be an add-on for the base campaign.
