Tumblr media
As a kid you'd loved reading, fantasy, fiction, non-fiction, the genre almost hadn't mattered to you, as long as it was a story of some sort, you'd been happy to read it.
As a teenager you had loved acting, playing a role of someone not yourself, imagining yourself as a character made up in a story, a narrative, not your own. It was a hobby, but you knew you had a talent for it, though without any activities to put your practice into, the skill laid dormant in the back of your mind.
Some had called your progression of life as 'going of the tracks', 'taking the wrong path' or anything else giving the same definition. Your friends became estranged, ties melting like snow exposed to a summer sun. They never entirely knew what your life had come to, and they didn't need to know.
By now, you were a different person from back then, quite literally in a way. A different name, different acquaintances and habits that were switched out like cards in a rigged poker match. In a sense your childhood had all alluded to this, a place where your talent would be appreciated and put into use. Becoming a new person with each job, becoming a character in a story created by someone else, following the perfect narrative that would lead you to your success.
Jobs changed, faces differed and to most of the world you were gone, vanished, maybe even dead. In the underworld it was different, regardless no one knew you, but they knew of you. Like a black hole, they knew you had to exist, though had never been able to prove it.
"Y/n, are you even trying to pay attention?" Toast's words were harsh as you looked up, meeting serious eyes staring into your soul. Often you had questioned who the real leader of the cartel was, Don Scarra or his right-hand man Disguised Toast.
"I just don't get it, I got back like two seconds ago. That job took me a year, can't I catch a break for one minute?" Toast rolled his eyes; undercover jobs were your expertise, so it really wasn't all that surprising you'd be sent out again. The one reason why Toast hadn't promoted you as the head of the undercover section was because the cartel couldn't miss you in the field.
The sole reason that your existence was one of the biggest questions in the underworld was what made you so powerful. No one knew when, or where you'd hit. They didn't even know the cartel you belonged to, or if you were a gun for hire, though that admittedly was thanks to Toast's efforts to keep any and all information about you concealed.
This job would be a long one, it was something both you and Toast knew, yet somehow it was all contained in the small folder in front of you on the table in the meeting room.
"You got back a week ago and this can't wait anymore, we need you out there covering our backs and there is no one in this cartel able to keep this up as long as you can." He was right, you knew that Toast wouldn't feed your ego like this if it wasn't necessary.
Silently you nodded your head, opening the file to see your own face, but with a different name, age and story. Toast crafted the stories of your identity’s; he made them come to life with the help of different sections of the cartel. He had a multitude of identities laying around, creating them through time and keeping them alive till they were needed and would be given a face.
It didn't happen often a job would entirely be finished, most often it ended in a faked death, or something to give you a reason to disappear off the stage. Last job, one of the smaller but fast-growing cartels was taken down, crumbling down on itself at your hands and there was no reason to explain a disappearance, as the entirety of the cartel disappeared instead.
Taking the file with you, you stepped out of the room, coming face to face with Rae as she was about to come in. In the cartel, during the off times you were actually there, you had always been the closest to Rae. She was the red string of fate that had drawn you to the cartel, scouted you, in a sense. It had started off small until eventually you had received your first job for the cartel and from then on, everything spiraled into what it had become now.
"Hey! I see Toast filled you in, I'm really sorry that you've got another job so close to the last." she looked actually apologetic as she stepped back to allow you to pass.
There was a shrug of your shoulders, "there isn't much we can do about it." she gave you a smile, your chest heating up at the sight of it. There hadn't been a moment where her smile wouldn't have the same, ever-lasting effect on you, and you smiled back as she passed you into the door. Maybe there would've been a chance for you, if only you didn't need to leave for a new long-lasting job the moment you get back.
In a sense it was ironic, how the same thing that had brought you two together meant your separation as well.
You left after that, there wasn't a lot of time to prepare for the new job you received, so it was important to start quickly. Rae helped you get through all the details, both of your alias and the goal. Leaving again was never something you looked forward to, after all these people were your family.
The slow knock on the door, despite the lack of footsteps heard in the hallway, told you who came to visit you. Your suitcase was packed, and tomorrow you'd head off to the apartment you would live in for the next while.
-
"Come in Rae," the door opened quickly and closed just as fast as she stepped in somehow her silent footsteps always seemed to surprise you, "what brings you here?"
She gave you a small smile, allowing herself to fall into the chair across from you, "Why wouldn't I come spend time with you once in a while, especially if you're leaving soon again."
One of the hardest parts of your job was returning from it, returning to yourself after spending such a long time pretending to be someone else. It was hard not to get lost within the character you played, trying not to do something you'd regret later.
"I'll talk to Toast about giving you some sort of vacation when you return, maybe we could go to Japan together? I heard from Lily and Micheal it was a great getaway. I think you'd enjoy watching the blossoms." You hummed in response, leaning back as she continued talking. It was nice to just be able to listen sometimes, and somehow Rae seemed to sense when you needed it. You were grateful for her.
"Oh! We should try wearing a kimono when we're there actually, I've done it once before while we were there on a job. Don't even get me started on the food, I'll make you try the best dishes when we're there, do you prefer savory or sweet more?"
-
Time passed quickly, and before you knew it the moment of your departure had arrived. The job started, and except for brief reports, your contact to the cartel would cease.
Within a few days, just as Toast predicted, you were contacted, and the stage was set. The job had started, no matter how many times you'd done it, you always surprised yourself with the ease that it took to slip back into it.
It started with some minor, easy jobs, being watched and staying watchful. Gaining someone's trust was an art in itself, but after having done it time and time again it was just part of the routine. Staying with the same people, shooting who they shot, and following commands.
-
It took a few months before you reported back for the first time. Toast wasn't necessarily happy with the slow pace of the operation, though he knew as much as you that quality took time. He was patient, most of the time, but the more time it took, the more opportunities would be created for mistakes. He preferred the ease of quick missions sometimes over the long games of cat and mouse other operations took.
"They'll do fine, I don't see why you're being so inpatient, that's nothing like you." Rae stood in the door opening, Toast sliding the file to the end of the table for her to take a look at.
Flipping the lock on the door for the confidentiality of the case, she read through the short and straight to the point report you had written, "What do you want me to say? They're good at what they do."
-
Reports came on the occasion, with continuously longer times in between. You had been absorbed in your work, slipping on the edge of a character and reality more often as time passed. It happened with these jobs, and though you trusted yourself to be fine, it still made you anxious inside.
Instead of laying low, which had been the plan originally, due to circumstances you had created a name for yourself here. Your reputation grew with the number of jobs you had taken care of, and though you didn't officially rise in rank, you rose the social ranks of the cartel.
Gaining respect and confidence as more and more time passed, reports were procrastinated and forgotten.
You had become the character in every sense of the word. Never had a job taken this much patience, this much time. There were no moments for recollection, no moments to doubt as the life of the cartel raced past. According to the plan you were maybe halfway, yet it had already taken you a year and a half to get to this point. At least 6 of those months had gone by without any mention towards the cartel.
Heavy footsteps reached the door, the knocking was hard but patient, and with your hands hand your gun you yelled for them to open the door. You had gotten home maybe six hours before, barely with enough time to shower, scrub the scent of gunpowder of your skin and sleep.
They had picked you up for a break in, nothing unusual essentially, but as you stood up you could feel your gut twist in a foreboding sense. Either telling you something was very off, or something would go horribly wrong. It was something that had grown with you as you raised through the ranks of the cartel.
Ignoring the feeling for now, you stepped out of your home, the location of which had changed a few months into your acceptance to the cartel as they moved you to a more secure area closer to the base. In the van, familiar faces awaited you as you had often worked with them in the past months. Explaining the job, the goal, and the plan as it moved, different weapons were thrusted in your hands in preparation.
It looked more familiar than it should have, though that should have been something you realized sooner. Not whilst you were inside, looking into a surveillance camera a mere millisecond before your bullet landed within, shutting it down permanently.
They never told you whose warehouse it was, not that you suspected they would if you'd ask. The unfortunate souls that worked and guarded the place found their fate similar to the surveillance camera as you went in to grab what you needed and got out. Essentially, you had only been there as a bodyguard in the first place, any and all useful information wouldn't have found your ears anyway.
-
"Are you seeing this?" Toasts voice was loud, growing louder as he spoke, Rae, Sykkuno and Corpse sitting across from him as he showed them the surveillance feed, your face looking straight into the camera before it shut down. He had paused on your face, showing them there wasn't any doubt.
The three of them nodded their head, it didn't look good for your situation. Toast had long been pissed about the lack of reports coming from you, and his agitation had only grown as they watched the surveillance of their robbed warehouse from two days ago.
They had confirmed you were still alive but at what cost? Had you turned to their side, left them behind in favor of a new life?
"It could've blown the cover if they didn't participate." Rae had done her fair share of undercover jobs over the years and knew the lengths one would have to go to at times to stay hidden.
"What about the reports then? They've missed two, at the VERY least." Toast was usually calm, calculated and one of the most patient people in the cartel when it came down to it. He never tolerated any traitors however, so if you were to leave the cartel it'd be a hard hit.
"What if there hasn't been time to write them, or no opportunity to communicate?" Corpse hadn't interacted with you too often, but he knew your skills, your reputation.
"That would be giving them the benefit of the doubt, but is that a risk we can take?" Sykkuno spoke up, watching as the other reacted to his words before continuing, not even giving Rae the chance to refute his statement, "I propose we sent someone in."
"I'll go, I'll volunteer as tribute." Toast glanced at her, raising his eyebrow before turning back to Sykkuno and motioning him to continue, "One of us can go, check it out from a distance and then look at the situation. If things have changed for the worse, shoot on sight and report back."
Toast nodded along, approving of his plan, "I'll give them that much of a chance. Rae you are not going."
"And why is that!" Rae was loud, standing up from the chair as she faced Toast face to face.
Toast gave her a look she didn't need words for to understand, asking if he really needed to explain himself further cause everyone knew what he had meant.
"Sykkuno, Corpse, what do you have on the agenda?" Sykkuno looked at Corpse who shrugged his shoulders, "More than enough, sad to say, what about sending Rae after all? We all know she wouldn't do anything that could hurt the cartel. She's more than responsible enough." Corpse nodded along to his words, before offering his own opinion "I trust Rae."
Most of the other members of the cartel didn't know about this assignment, so sending them would be more of a hassle than Toast wanted, which meant he reluctantly agreed to send Rae. It wasn't necessarily that he didn't trust her, he had put his own life in her hands more times than he could count, instead he disliked any personal connections to jobs in general.
"Fine then. Rae, this is now your responsibility." he looked at her through the glasses before pulling them off, "I trust you will make a good judgement."
She gave him a serious nod, signaling she would indeed take this seriously.
-
It hadn't been the plan; something like his could've never been the plan. Never did she think she had slipped up, dropped her guard, but Rae found the world spinning as her sight blackened. The ground was cold and hit hard, a dull ache forming on her temple as something akin to a chuckle could be heard from behind her.
She didn't think she had given any reason for the following that had stalked her around as soon as she entered the territory. Shrugging them off was supposed to have been easy, but people only added to the chase instead of backing off.
It was unfamiliar territory, and despite jumping over fences, sprinting through alleyways to take the fastest path back to her car, she found herself cornered. Though this shouldn't have been a dealbreaker, she was tired from running, and they were with many.
Her fists hit skulls, necks, unprotected stomachs, whilst her feet kicked whatever came in their reach. She started with a knife, though quickly lost that as more people approached.
Maybe she was taken down, but she took plenty with her.
-
It had been a year and ten months you guessed, you weren't even sure anymore, you had stopped keeping track. Times had changed, and so had you. Laying low had become a priority, with no cartel behind you and most likely a bounty on your head by Toast, you didn't have much choice.
Sometimes, you longed back to the cartel, to the place where people worked that had become your friends, but even then, any opportunity to report back was ruined one way or another. You couldn't even blame them for wanting to put a bounty on your head. You couldn't turn back to them with empty hands and jeopardize the entire job, but the result seemed so far away simultaneously, leaving you stuck in between.
Despite knowing you couldn't, you had considered just turning back multiple times, back to a place you could consider home. The cartel was like a family, and now you were homesick more than ever. Though you weren't even granted the time to allow your thoughts to linger on that.
"The boss has called for you." It were simple words, but effective to pull you out of the string of thought you found yourself in.
You hadn't seen the boss once throughout your stay at the cartel, though it was suspected as you had joined as a potential new member. If anything, it was weirder that they had called for you, as there shouldn't have been a reason for you to meet yet.
There had been no way you could have refused this opportunity to begin with, though the chance of it bringing you closer to the goal of the job forced hope to bubble within your mind.
You didn't know who had come to fetch you, but as you followed them deeper into the building to sections and floors you had never been before you did start to become nervous. Could you even fool a cartel boss?
She wasn't what you'd expected her to be, but so much more. Somehow, you weren't quite sure what you had expected in the first place, but with an electrifying presence in the room, the relaxed way she sat but still held so much power was enough to force a gasp out of your throat.
A confident smile played at her lips, her fingertips drumming idly on the throne like chair she sat upon. She maned you closer, and as if in a trance you did, stepping closer before she spoke up, "That's enough."
Tucking a lose strand of hair behind her ear, the rest of it is pulled up tidy behind her head as charms dangle from the sides. Maybe cartel had been the wrong name all along, it was more akin to a yakuza than anything else.
"You have been trying to join this organization for a while now, correct?" She spoke, careful eyes watching your every move, every reaction. Without a doubt you could tell she was in her position for a very, very good reason.
Nodding your head, you replied "That is indeed correct". She nodded her head along, carefully considering your words and forming her own, "Then, you must have suspected some sort of ritual, a trial, no?" She raised her eyebrow, watching your reaction with narrowed eyes.
"I suppose so, yes." A smile broke over her face, exposing her teeth as she seemed satisfied with your answer, "Then it should please you to know that we have one for you. Tomorrow you shall be taken to an undisclosed location, here you will have to kill the captive. You have taken plenty of lives for this organization, so I trust this to not be a problem."
There was a silence, and her eyes searched yours for an answer, "yes ma'am, I will not disappoint."
With the wave of her hand, you were escorted out, lastly seeing the glance of a smile on her lips. Back to the familiar side of the building, back to the entrance from which you headed home.
The night left you wondering for the next day. If she knew you had already killed plenty, then why did she think one more or less life would change it? It wasn't surprising sleep came late that night, whilst your ride to pick you up came early in the morning.
Hurrying to put on your jacket as you walked out, you hopped into the van. It was almost large, but it barely fit the other people accompanying you. In a sense it was expected that they'd keep an eye on you on the day of the trial.
The drive was long, a few hours at least, and as you arrived the people formed a formation around you. If you hadn't known better, you may have actually thought they were there to protect you.
The facility looked like a warehouse, and maybe it was even used as one. The walls were deceivingly thick, resistant to the average explosive you guessed, and unconsciously your mind began tracking down exit routes at the trapped feeling it gave you.
Leading you to a large room, where shipping containers were stacked and the ceiling was high, you had to guess this to be the main storage room of the warehouse. Some of the shipping containers were used as a wall, and as you were lead around it, one particular shipping container stood on the ground, its doors opened as small amount of light in the warehouse cast a shadow into the small room.
You were nudged forward, towards the container as the hairs on your neck stood upright, any and all alarm bell in your head going off at the situation.
The shadow into the container seemed to disappear as you got closer, and you could finally look into the room yourself. Deep brown hair, longer than any you had ever seen before, bleached tips as it hid a face you knew all too well.
She was unconscious, suspended from her wrists by chains stuck to the ceiling of the container. Clothes ragged, dirty, needless to say she looked in a worse state than you had ever seen her before.
Plenty tools hung around the container, decorating the walls in a gruesome way. Splatters of dried blood covering the tools, the floor and the walls. It was clear what would happen here, and what was about to happen.
Your eyes couldn’t be torn away from Rae, and your hand itched to the place where your gun would normally hang, where it was supposed to hang. It was empty, the man behind you noticed the movement as he chuckled, "Come on Darlin', don't act like their ain't plenty of choice already."
The decision had been made before the thought had the time to cross your mind, like the ripple of electricity in your mind went straight down, into your body, forcing it to fling in action at the split second, before being able to form a thought.
Twisting your body, forcing it to fall to the ground as your leg shot out, sweeping the male's legs behind you from underneath him before he had the chance to react, as you shot forward to yank the gun from his grip.
He didn't allow you to surprise him twice however, his boot making contact with your shoulder as you felt something shoot out of place.
The men surrounding you spring into action as well, two of them pointing their guns at you, one moving in the direction of Rae, and the other following you to the ground.
The man you tackled tried to hit you with the gun he held, the range too close to shoot at. The palm of your hand found his nose, breaking it on impact as his reflexes forced him to let go of the gun he held. The split second his guard lowered your hand found his gun, pressing it against his ribcage as you shot.
The man that had followed you to the ground caged his hand around your neck from the back, pulling you back as his comrades took a small distance from the two of you, not shooting to prevent hitting their colleague.
As he applied pressure, he crawled further on top of you, from your legs up.
Before his second hand could join to finish the job, you twisted your torso wildly, ripping his hand from your throat in the direction of his thumb, aiming the bloodied gun into the bottom of his jaw and pulling the trigger once more.
Split of a second later, another trigger was pulled, and as you used the body on top of you as cover, one out of the two was quickly taken out by another bullet leaving your gun.
On instinct, you flipped the body covering you in the other direction to cover for the bullet that soon followed, and as the last shot left your gun, the last man had reached Rae.
His one hand on her shoulder to keep her positioned in front of him, gun pressed to the side of her head. He could have killed her then and there, but you would shoot him and live, no he needed both of you dead.
There is the slightest movement, a lock of hair that sways in nonexistent wind, the glimpse of eye contact, and a heel that shoots out behind her, right into his crotch.
One last shot rung through the warehouse.
Within a second, you're by her side, hands searching for a way to free her arms from the chains, before searching the man behind her for a phone and dialing Toast's phone on pure instinct, hearing his worried voice on the other line at the sound of you.
An ambulance, without explaining anything, you told him to send an ambulance to the address of the warehouse, for him to come, and take the others with him in case, no- when someone would come to check the warehouse.
Rae laughed dryly as you fussed over her, taking one of the tools to cut through the metal chains, the cuffs, and catching her limp body.
Blood trickled down her face, and who knew where else, but somehow, as your eyes met hers, you knew the situation wasn't as bad as it had seemed before.
"About that vacation-" her hoarse voice rung through the air, a dry chuckle leaving your throat.
"Tell me about that later."

announcement
I’ve been receiving a lot of hate lately about writing / having written things for Corpse. Frankly I’m kinda done with it and it brought down my motivation to write for anything in general so therefore im announcing I will stop writing for Corpse in the future. Please respect my decision. I will continue to write for the rest of OfflineTV and friends, and the comfy cartel.

hi there!! cat back with a possible plot??
comfy cartel this time but it's also with sykkuno (istg i love him so so much)
uh, reader is lilypichu's twin, except tall. tall women are amazing. so are short women. so are women. (is it obvious i'm a bisexual?) possibly seen as very intimidating, very closed off, the opposite of lily. for the sake of the plot, reader dear is not already involved with sykkuno, but it's sort of like they should be together, but the feelings are really unspoken, and both think the other doesn't romantically care about them.
perhaps reader fights a little with sykkuno about going on a dangerous mission, because he doesn't want her to get hurt, but she thinks the mission us more valuable than her life. so she leaves and goes. and gets hurt, maybe to the point where she's just stuck at a crossroads. then she gets captured, and once sykkuno gets word of it, all hell breaks lose and he's gone in an instant to go get her, and does so successfully. there's a lot of death to the enemies-
and once they get back and she asks why he went and got her, lying and saying she had it covered, he confesses, and they fight a little before realizing they both love eachother,, and perhaps sykkuno ends up becoming protective over her.
And then, FINALLY, the moment is here when this very long one shot gets uploaded. You can find it here. It took incredibly long but I hope you'll enjoy it as much as i enjoyed writing it, as ive been wanting to write such a scenario for a while now. Have a good day/night!

word count: 6.8K
Warnings: mild angst, blood, fighting, guns. arguments, kidnapping, under cover job, usual action mafia themes
Synopsis: When Toast offers you a new infiltration job he’s hesistant to give to someone else, you accept but get into an argument with your partner, Sykkuno, over it. Nevertheless you leave before the two of you make up, until he’s forced to come get you back home when the job has gone astray and he regrets leaving things the way they were.
A/n: also contains some MCYT in a mafia setting because i needed characters and another cartel. It’s a long one, and took even longer to write but I’m glad I took my time so it can be the quality it is currently. I’ll try to continue with normal requests soon and will also make a Rules list soon I think.

Sitting across from Toast, you reviewed the document in front of you carefully, eyes gliding over the words with care as you read the case the male wanted to send you on. He observed your reactions carefully, his calculating gaze hidden by the glasses adorning his face.
"Do you think you can take it?" He finally spoke up as you closed the paper file, setting it back on the wooden table in front of you as you leant back in your chair.
Your eyes met his eyes, despite the sunglasses reflecting the light of the artificial light that lit up the meeting room, "It's not something I specialize in, you know that."
Naturally everyone preferred easy jobs over hard ones, although members of the cartel specialized in different types of jobs.
Rae preferred longer, more intricate, jobs and preferably ones which required infiltration. She was a natural actress in the way she blended into her role, taking on new personalities with ease.
Toast, at least the jobs he did take, preferred mentally taxing and challenging jobs where he'd have to depend on his wit and brain to escape out of it. He tended to do negotiations and manipulation jobs.
Lily, although she had joined the darker side of the cartel more actively later on, worked best with Michael by her side. The male preferred standing on the side-lines, guiding field members through the missions with ease.
When you could, you would join her, as her sister you preferred standing by her side in the field even though you knew she could take care of herself perfectly fine. You'd call it sibling instinct, as Lily tended to want to join you on your jobs as well.
Much like Sykkuno, you preferred the fast jobs. Going in, doing what you were meant to do, and leave before anyone had the chance to intervene and complicate things. On the ride back, you'd call Yvonne to get her in to take care of the after math, and that would be it. No mistakes, no strings attached.
This job however, seemed more like Rae's area of expertise than yours, although that didn't mean you were incapable of taking it on. If you were, you wouldn’t stand on your current place in the cartel.
You had been with the cartel together with Lily since the very start, and had grown alongside it. You had welcomed new members of the family like Sykkuno, Corpse, Rae and had to leave others behind.
Oh how long it had been since those times.
"I know, but Rae is already out, and I don't want to entrust this to anyone else." You nodded along, a small smile tugging on your lips as you met eyes with Toast once more, "How sweet, I didn't know you held me in that high of a regard." Your tone was teasing as you shot him a smile.
As opposed to Sykkuno, Toast was harder to fluster with your teasing side remarks, as he made them himself as well. Usually you partnered up with Sykkuno, and found joy in teasing the male during the more calm moments of your jobs.
Toast however didn't seem in the mood for your remarks, as he raised his eyebrow questioningly at you, the serious tone of his voice not disappearing either, "But will you take it?"
"You said it was a solo job right?" Truthfully, you wanted to take the job, it had been a while since you had done anything along the lines of this, which would make it a refreshing change of pace.
Toast nodded his head, "We've been working on an identity for the past year and a half, spreading rumours of accomplishments and all that so they'd be interested in hiring them. We've only made one, assuming Rae would be able to go but something urgent came up for her."
"Then why not wait?" You had known something along the lines of this had been going on behind the scenes, although you had always have enough work to keep you too busy to figure out what it had all been about.
Toast bent over the table, his voice lowering in volume, "We've had intel. We need to figure out if it's true as soon as possible." He looked over his glasses as his dark eyes met yours, before he slumped back in the chair and gave you a small grin.
All seriousness his voice held moments prior had disappeared within a second as he spoke up, "You'd also play into their expectations flawlessly."
Naturally, looks meant nothing in your field, but it took years of experience to entirely disregard someone's physique during first impressions, and those who couldn't do that often didn't live long enough to learn the skill.
But with your length, built, and intimidating looks, you'd play the perfect part. Maybe looks didn't matter to anyone with a skilful eye, together with the identity that had been built, it would only reinforce their ideas. Then again, you were skilled enough to convince those that did have doubts with ease.
"I'll take it." You slid the document over the table, back to Toasts hands as he gave you a stern face, the grin that tugged on his lips disappeared as sudden as it had appeared.
"Are you sure, once you take it there is no backing out."
"You said you didn't want to entrust anyone else right?" Toast gave you a small defeated smile as he nodded, "Go ahead then, the identity files will be delivered to your office shortly."
Turning the chair, you left the room. Of course there were others in the cartel with high enough ranks to take the job, but most of those were males, and since the identity had been crafted for Rae specifically, that did complicate things.
In the past you had been worried during these kind of jobs to get found out, although you disregarded useless worries like those now. While it was true you held a high reputation and were well known in the underworld, those achievements were rather tied to a name and the cartel than an appearance.
As one of the higher cartel members, your office was positioned close to the meeting rooms and granted luxuries that set it apart from the lower ranks.
It was positioned higher up in the building, with plenty of escape routes nearby, and positioned at the edge were an entire wall was made of bullet proof glass and permitted a view of the city below.
Although the dirty jobs of the cartel got taken care of in standard, nasty warehouses and abandoned facilities and such, due to the comfy front your sister had spent so much time on when the cartel started out, your office was in a large sky scraper on the edge of the city, where there were less questioning gazes and less attention.
The door to your office was unlocked, something you could never have been responsible for, allowing you to know who was inside before even entering.
"Missed me already, Sykkuno?" The brown haired male met your eyes as you stepped inside, leaning against the doorframe as you saw him sitting on the couch that stood against one of the walls.
A bright smile formed on his face, as he covered it with his hand, a gesture you had grown more than familiar with as time passed.
He greeted you as you stepped inside, over time it had been a common occurrence for him to invite himself into your office as he waited for you to return from either a meeting or a job.
More than once you had considered telling Toast to order another desk and put it in your office for the male, as he tended to spent more time in yours than his own.
"Don’t say that!" The words were quick to leave his mouth, and his hand covered some of the redness you could see on his cheeks, "How was the job?"
"It was pretty alright, Corpse was a great help though!" Sykkuno spoke cheerfully, as if his job wasn't to murder others.
Sykkuno turned his gaze to the window, "One of them got away though, so I'll have to be prepared to leave again when they pop up somewhere over the next few days."
You nodded along, sitting down on the couch as the two of you spoke about his job, recommending strategies to avoid another escape and debunking one another's.
It was something you tended to do to pass time together, or when either of you wanted to procrastinate, you'd make up realistic scenarios, give a few details and resources you'd have access too, and try to figure a way out of it.
Although you were soon interrupted by a knock on the door, and you had temporarily forgotten that Toast would sent the document your way already. Calling out for the person to open the door, Brodin standing behind it.
Brodin had quickly risen in ranks for almost the last year, and was often involved in the planning of jobs behind the scenes. He was creative and a fast problem solver. No doubt he had been involved in the creation of this identity one way or another.
Handing you the file, he gave you a small smile, "Good luck on this one." and with that he was gone.
Sykkuno looked curiously at the file in your hands as you opened it, reading through the information inside carefully. He shuffled closer to your side to take a peek into the document himself, "Toast offered another job?"
You hummed in response, eyes scanning the words as you took in the information, "Rae should've done it, but she's busy and it needs to get done right now, it’s the thing Toast has been setting up for a while."
Usually details like creating identities and the finer details were left to those that worked under him. A small but competent team that set everything up and kept a large portion of the cartel running. Although his personal involvement, as well as Brodin's, only gave away the importance of this job.
After just telling you he'd need to leave again in a few days, both of you knew he wouldn't be able to accompany you, not that he could have anyway, but you doing this alone didn't sit quite right with him.
"Are you sure you want to do this? I'm sure either Poki or Lily would be just fine going as well, but it's been a while since you've taken this kind of job." Sykkuno had never been someone to keep his worries about jobs to himself, especially if it was a solo endeavour such as this.
Infiltrating jobs required a ton of experience, knowledge, acting and so much more, and even though he knew you possessed what was necessary for it, he worried that you'd be rusty after so long.
This was definitely not a job where there would be any room for mistakes, as it would not put just you, but the information in danger as well. It was a onetime chance, once they figured out something was up, then they'd be much more careful in their movements and would only complicate things further.
"It's indeed been a while since I've done something like this, but I'll be fine. It's not as if I've been sitting still the entire time anyway. Besides that, I'll only hang around till I've got what we need and then I'm back out."
Sykkuno nodded at your words, although the frown that had formed on his face didn't fade, and his troubled expression told you more about his opinion than words ever could. Although he preferred to avoid conflict, he couldn't help but worry.
He had grown so much closer with you the last few months, so his worry was only natural. It would've been better if he could've joined you, or at least been able to watch from afar if anything happened, but with his own job in the way there really wasn't anything he could do.
"Poki has been taking on more infiltrating jobs recently, would she not be perfect for this?" He tried once more, refusing to leave matters as they were. His tone was careful, not wanting to upset you, but wanting to try and convince you anyway.
You nodded to his words, although you couldn't stop the slight agitation in your voice, "Maybe, but she's been busy with those already. This job will need full time work and I'm free for it, besides that, Toast chose me for a reason."
Sykkuno nodded, knowing he'd have to accept now you'd already taken the job. It was a risk that came with the field, but that didn't mean he'd have to like it.
"So you'll be carrying a microphone right? Stream it right to Michael or something?" If he couldn't make you drop the job, he could at least rest easier knowing that Michael was watching your every move from afar.
The shake of your head made his heart drop, "It's too risky, I'll by carrying a GPS that Michael will be tracking and I'll check in when I can, although that depends on how it goes."
"Oh. Alright then... I guess. But you'll leave as soon as something even seems suspicious, right?" The almost desperate look in his eyes forced you to swallow the teasing remark that laid ready on your tongue. Instead telling him the truth that he knew was coming.
"You know I'll have to take risks, I can't just back out of this when I'm inside, we have one chance and I'll need to take it." Sykkuno didn't react to your words, instead standing up, "I see, I still have something to take care off so I'll have to leave."
To be fair, you didn't expect him to be excited about the job, as you were more than well aware of how dangerous it would be yourself. In this world there wasn't such thing and guaranteed safety, once entering the underworld the risk of dying is always present.
After that you didn't see Sykkuno around often, and when you passed him he'd sent you a small sad smile before continuing. He didn't wait in your office for you to return from meetings anymore and wasn't by your side as you studied and practiced with your new identity.
Faster than you thought however, the day came. Armed, and with a fake ID hidden in your bag, you set off, officially starting your new job, with your new identity.
It didn't take long for them to contact you when you were spotted in the messier districts, on the outskirts of the town where warehouses and empty buildings were used for the nasty works of the underworld. You threaded the border between the comfy cartel's territory and the MCYT cartel's territory.
Although the comfy cartel had been larger for longer, the MCYT cartel was expanding their grounds quickly, and been growing rapidly for the past year.
Needless to say, you accepted their invitation with open arms, and in the end it only took a few days before you stood at one of their facilities, ready for the first official encounter you'd have.
Outside of the door stood someone readily waiting, opening the door once you reached him. Although under normal circumstances, they'd take away your weapons and check you, with the amount of highly skilled members of the cartel in the building, they must've not felt the need for it.
You were met with a young looking male, blonde hair messily falling over his forehead but bright hostile blue eyes watching you intently. He wore a red blouse, and turned around to call others from deeper into the facility.
He was young, maybe even startling so, although in your field, age was the least of your concern when death waited behind every corner.
And so your new job started, you met with the cartel's members, helped as a bodyguard or driver occasionally and cleaned up some minor jobs for them to start to trust you.
Hours with them turned to days. Days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months.
Still they kept a careful watch over you, only leaving you small, occasional moments where you could sneak away from their watchful gaze and contact Michael safely.
Each of your words containing bits and pieces of information were carefully recorded and returned to Toast, Sykkuno at his side as he listened to your voice. He regretted allowing you to leave without talking about the argument.
Hearing your voice ensured him you were alright, still out there somewhere and waiting for that vital information you needed to return home.
Once more he stood in the meeting room beside Toast, Rae sitting across of them at the table as she had now returned from her job. Michael had a laptop placed on the table, but the way he avoided eye contact with him when he walked in made his stomach drop.
With the nod of Toast's head, he pressed the button on the laptop, and your voice filled the room.
There was something wrong with your tone of voice, it was easy for him to tell. The volume was barely above a whisper, making Michael turn up the audio coming from the device in front of him.
His eyes were trained on the screen where uneven spikes could be seen sliding along, spiking up with each uneven breath that left your lungs. Avoiding eye contact with everyone, but especially Sykkuno, he could see the male's uncharacteristic glare pointed at the table in front of them.
His knuckles were write from the force with which he clenched his hands into fists as he stood leaning over the table.
Rae's eyes were slightly widened as she watched the laptop in disbelief, although the device did little to answer the questions racing through her head.
Even despite's Toast usual expressionless façade, his brows were furrowed as he listened to your words with detail, plans piling up in his head as he crossed them off one by one for various reasons.
The laptop brought a static like tone to your voice, but the urgency and mild panic was easy to hear through it. You had figured out something important, something that would lead to the big catch you were there for.
However the price you paid was heavy, as it had crumbled part of the carefully built up trust you had worked on during the past months.
Sykkuno could hear that you held the throwaway phone close to your mouth to make your voice clear enough, each ragged breath echoing in his mind.
You were out of breath, he concluded.
Almost too fast the recording ended, it had seemed an eternity long, although it couldn't have been longer than a few minutes.
Michael closed the laptop as the audio ended, taking it and leaving the room, knowing that any orders for him would come later and wanting to return to Lily instead of witnessing the argument that would undoubtedly follow in the meeting room.
"We need to pull her out." Rae spoke up, making Sykkuno snap his head up as Toast rubbed his forehead in thought, "we can't. Not yet. This is the only chance we have to gain this. Once we pull her out, we don't get a second chance."
Sykkuno watched Toasts furrowed brows, he clearly didn't like the decision he was forced to make, but it was clear Rae was pissed at him. Maybe she felt guilty, you had been sent in her stead after all.
For once, Sykkuno felt himself stuck between two sides, he desperately wanted you out of there but he knew that Toast wouldn't have made this decision if he didn't have to.
“It's too risky to keep her there Toast!" Rae stood up, rage evident on her face as she slammed her palms harshly on the table.
Toast groaned as his head snapped up to face her, his voice loud as he spoke up harshly, "I know! There is no way to play this safe! I know that, and she knew that when she accepted the job!"
Rae fell back in her chair as she pinched her nose, irritated at the current situation.
"Then when DO we pull her out of the hell hole?" She spoke up, her voice more levelled this time but strained as she looked across the table to Toast.
"When we have the information we need." Rae couldn't help the sigh that left her at his words, "Fine, but as soon as she even speaks the words, we're getting her out of there."
"Yes, I wasn't even considering leaving her there a second longer than absolutely necessary." He spoke up before turning to the side where Sykkuno sat, eyebrows furrowed at the current situation.
"I want you ready at all times, you'll take Corpse and pull her out whenever I say the words, understood?"
Sykkuno nodded, determined to come and get you as soon as the chance presented itself. He had to admit he was somewhat relieved that the end of your job was nearing, although that feeling was repressed by the weight that had come with that same recording.
Should you have seen it coming? Maybe, although that didn’t take away that even if you had, you would have been unable to do anything against the gun pointed at your form. The place was invested with cartel members, pulling out your own gun would've only done so much before they'd shot you.
Messy brown hair fell slightly over his eyes, over the round glasses that sat on top of his nose. He was tall, a similar height to you as he pointed the gun at you, stone cold expression displayed on his features.
You couldn't die now, not when you just had found the files displaying the information you had been searching so desperately for, for the past months. Despite that however, you had been caught red handed.
With barely enough time to read the entirety of the highly classified file, you had memorized all the important parts before the brown haired male had found you. You had come to know him as Wilbur over the past months, someone you had gone on a few jobs with during your time there.
By his side stood another male, the upper half of his face hidden by a pig mask that seamlessly blended with his pink coloured hair, which had steadily darkened at its roots over time.
Maybe you were homesick, but the animal mask covering his face reminded you of Corpse's mask back at the comfy cartel, and the flawless way it hid his expression from view.
A black loaded crossbow was pointed at your form, his eyes watchful of your every move as he anticipated anything you could've done to try and escape.
They had send the boy you had met when you arrived, Tommy, away to call for back up when they'd seen you bent over the classified files.
"I don’t know if I should call you brave or stupid for trying to read those files." Wilbur spoke up, his hands encasing his handgun as he steadily held it pointed at you.
Your eyes narrowed at him, questioning how you'd be able to remove yourself from the situation. They stood in front of the door, effectively cutting you off the only exit and you knew you wouldn't be able to make it to the stairs before they'd get you in the small chance that you did manage to move past them.
It had been at least four weeks, maybe even five since your last call to Michael, so if they wanted to pull you out of the job they would've already, making it highly unlikely they were anywhere remotely close to you to aid your escape.
If Tommy returned with back up however, it would only become impossible to escape the building.
With furrowed brows you observed the situation you were in, time wasn't on your side and if you weren't fast enough, it'd be the end of the road. The tracker you carried along soothed your nerves somewhat, although you knew that as long as they weren't actively looking for you yet, it probably wouldn't be of much help.
Footsteps thundered over the hallway and you knew it would be too late to run, the door got smacked against the wall loudly as it burst open. The blonde stood in the doorframe, ragged breaths escaping his mouth as his hair was messy from running the way back.
Figures stood behind him, although you couldn't bother to try and see who they were. At least the amount of people told you, you wouldn't die, not yet at least. After all, why would they have needed so many people to get rid of a body? No, they were going to escort you, and Tommy's words only confirmed your suspicion.
"Dream wants to see her."
And so it happened, the blonde haired male sitting in a casual hoodie with a white mask adorned with a taunting back smile sitting atop of his face. A mask that was infamous in the entirety of the underground.
He tried asking questions, but was met with nothing but silence as you simply watched him, before growing frustrated. He turned to Wilbur, who stood observing the scene from the wall, gun still positioned in his hand.
"How long was she in there?"
"I'm unsure, but it can't have been long, Techno and I found her with the files." He nodded for a second, hand on his chin as he watched you stand there, towering over most of those who had escorted you.
With a simple order, the people surrounding you stepped back, but not before handcuffing your hands behind your back.
Rough hands shoved your hands in the metal cuffs, tightening them harshly as you pulled your hand back reflectively, unable to help the sarcastic remark that slipped past your lips, "At least buy me a drink first."
Your attention was swiftly pulled back to the figures in front of you, as one of the two that stood beside Dream swiftly punched you in your gut, forcing you to double over reflectively.
Black hair fell messily in front of his eyes, although the entertained smile that was plastered on his face grabbed your attention first.
His leg shot out to make use of your bound state, although you wouldn't be caught off guard a second time. Reflexes that had been carefully trained for years kicked in, making you duck under his kick.
More often than not your tall stature gave the false illusion of slowness, although nothing could've been more wrong. Your leg hit his hip harshly, before you stepped back, dodging the punch he had sent your way.
From the corner of your eye you could see some of the men step forward, although they stopped instantly as soon as Dream held up his hand, watching the fight in front of him curiously.
It went on for a least a few minutes, each attack he fired your way dodged with the help of your reflexes that had been trained in the field for years.
Naturally you never stood a chance. With your hands forced on your back, it was so much harder to keep your balance, and forced to depend on your legs to keep you up as well as evade his attacks.
Even if you would've been able to bring the male down, only more would fill his place. The only thing you gained from this was his annoyance, which admittedly was entertaining to see.
Dream's voice taunted him from the side-lines, "Come on Sap, she's got her hands tied and even then you take this long?" It fuelled the male on, and within another minute you were sent to the ground harshly, feeling your shoulder dislocate as you fell backwards on your arms.
He stepped forward, standing over you as he pulled his leg back once more, and you saw the blow coming before you even felt it hit. Once against the side of your rib cage harshly and once to your temple as everything went black.
How long it had been once you opened your eyes again, you couldn't tell. The scenery was vastly different however, the room was dark, concrete walls surrounding you.
A groan tore itself from your throat as you attempted to move, feeling a stinging pain come from your ribcage and your shoulder. Warm liquid that only could have been blood slowly dripped down the side of your head, most likely coming from when they had thrown you onto the ground of the room.
It meant you hadn't been here for too long then, which was good. The more time you had, the higher your chance of escaping was. The only thing stopping them from shooting you on the spot was their lack of knowledge of your actual identity.
Now that they knew you weren't who they thought you were, they'd figure out which cartel you did belong to, and although Michael was good at his job you knew they'd find his traces eventually.
The concrete was cold against your back, at least this time you had time to plan an escape.
However, what you didn't know, was that as soon as Michael had seen the tracker you wore move across town, and hacked whatever surveillance on its route to see that you in fact weren't the one driving, he stood in Toast's office with his laptop on his arm.
After the month of silence from you, paired with the black van with blacked out windows and unfamiliar people behind the wheel, it wasn't hard to put one and one together.
Besides that, he too had been anxious about your state of being after the last message you left them with, as there hadn't been a single moment for the past month where he didn't stand on edge. Even if it was false alarm, information be damned, they were getting you out.
With one hand he pressed one of the buttons that sat on the charger of the phone on his desk, which doubled as microphone and speaker.
"Sykkuno, grab Corpse and prepare to head out, we're going in." He dismissed Michael smoothly with the wave of his hand, pressing another button to call in Rae.
He moved to prepare himself as well, a certain weight off his shoulders now that his wait had ended. Toast considered himself a patient person, awaiting the perfect moment to strike, although this time he couldn't be so sure.
Sykkuno however, couldn't have been more ready, preparing a rifle in addition to his usual handgun, and stripping a hunter’s knife to his belt as he pulled on a bulletproof vest. He was ready to take you back home.
Corpse stood right by his side, pulling on his gloves before preparing for the invasion as well. The fact that so many high ranking people had been called in promised a bloody fight.
Rae approached hastily as they stood beside the vehicle, Michael sitting in the passenger seat with the laptop on his lap ready to guide the van through the streets to where the GPS tracker had come to a stop around ten minutes ago.
She hadn't been able to shake herself of the nagging guilt that come since your last message. She should have been there instead of you, so if anything had happened to you, she would take it personally.
As they piled into the vehicle, Toast approached. Walking speedily through the garage that held the many vans and a variety of other vehicles that belonged to the cartel. He repositioned the sunglasses over his eyes as he stepped into the driver's seat, "Others will be less than a minute behind us."
With that, they started moving. Toasts followed Michael’s directions precisely, and the van was filled with a heavy atmosphere. None of them knew what they were walking into, and what to expect of it.
There was a healthy kind of adrenaline flowing through their veins, paired with a type of nervous and stressful excitement that came with every job. It was something that never died down over the years, it was something that had kept them alive.
The drive seemed too short yet too long simultaneously. It had been a while since they had worked on the same thing together, yet somehow the trust between them had never faded in the slightest.
Everyone was well aware on what to expect from each other, and worked together like an oiled machine. Even Corpse, one of the newer members of the cartel, slotted within that automatically running mechanism perfectly within the blink of an eye.
The storming of the facility ran flawlessly, and as they unloaded their van, the back-up teams arrived right behind them as Toast had promised. Everyone took their own team, consisting of approximately six people before taking position at different entrances and bursting into the building.
Naturally it caused quite the commotion within the facility, one that was easily heard from your little concrete room. There was only so many things that could cause such a massive panic at once, and that were either cops, or the people you considered family.
You knew it had to be the latter.
The suspicion was shortly after confirmed, the echo of shots ringing through the building as Sykkuno and his team wasted no time in combing through the building.
They shot mercilessly at all movement they spotted, Sykkuno in front of the others with his own rifle in his hands. Usually he wasn't the messy type, more the exact opposite, but now all those principles, all those believes, were thrown out of the window.
Red stained the walls they left in their wake, bodies littered the ground with unseeing eyes.
It was a massacre.
The building was oddly silent, save for the sound of gunshots and the heavy footsteps that combed through the building strategically, bringing down whoever stood in their way.
Undoubtedly, Sykkuno was the fastest with his search. Dark eyes that scanned the hallways for movement or doors where you could be hidden behind. Other than the occasional instructions from Michael, he listened carefully to the sound of your voice.
After the months he had spent without it, the closest memory was the dreadful report given to Michael. Nevertheless he knew he would recognize it the second he heard it.
He wasn't too far away from your confinement room when one of the men burst in. He had a ragged appearance, with sweat running down his temple as he approached your form with a gun cocked right at you.
Maybe it was the stress that haunted him, or the million thoughts that ran through his mind, but somehow it didn’t cross his mind that you'd fight back against his attempt to use you to threaten the intruders in the building.
Your movement made pain shoot up your spine from your shoulder, and the heavy breaths that escaped your mouth left your ribcage throbbing, but the adrenaline that started to fill your veins was quickly drowning it out.
He had quickly seen the ties between your new presence in the building and the armed people that had shown up merely hours later. Although he wasn't as quick to see you kick the gun from his hands, landing an upper cut to his head.
You were frightfully quick in the way you seemed to disappear and reappear behind the male, as your arm locked around his throat before he could even do anything in retaliation.
Right as the idea to kick your legs arose in his mind, he was forced to his knees by your own feet in the back of his knee caps. Before he could even register sitting on the ground, your arms left his throat as your hands found them on his chin and the back of his head.
With only a sickening crack, his body fell lifeless to the ground as his head sat atop his shoulders in an unnatural position.
Pain burned from your shoulder as you held it carefully with your free hand. It didn't however stop you from stepping into the hallway, listening to the footsteps that seemingly approached.
Sykkuno's name left your lips as you called for him, knowing he had to be here inside this building. Even though your disagreement before you left, you knew he would be here for you. You barely even remembered what the disagreement had been about, not that it mattered now.
The footsteps grew louder, more uneven as you looked through the hallway, trying to pin point where they came from.
Your eyes met familiar dark ones as he ran around the corner, his head whipping in your direction as he sprinted towards your form.
His clothes that were usually styled so neatly were covered in blood splatters, and even though his dark circles had obviously grown since you last saw him, his hold on you was the same.
His arms were warm around your body as he pulled you in carefully, having spotted the way you held your shoulder protectively and the line of dried up blood that ran down on the side of your head.
As if on reflex he buried his face in your neck, relishing in your touch in confirmation that you were okay, you were alive. When he opened his eyes he saw the small concrete room you had stood in front of, and the discarded body that laid against one of the walls.
As much effort as he had put in to reach you, you had done the same to reach him.
Only when he pulled back from you he seemed to hear the worried voices of the others in his ears, asking if he had found you and if you were alright. With a slight chuckle he answered them, and the order to retreat was given.
He didn't lower his hold on you however, only one of his arms moved so he could cup your cheek, tracing over the small trail of blood with his thumb.
“I did it, I got what I came for, we can finally go home now.” You sounded relieved yet tired as you spoke those words.
"Why did you go so far?" His voice was low, barely more than a whisper as Toast, Corpse, Rae and Michael turned off their ear pieces, figuring they should give the two of you some privacy. Naturally they had figured out something had happened between the two of you before you left and they knew the two of you needed the space.
His touch against your shoulder was soft, a feathery light kind of gentle as his skin ghosted over the hand you held clasped against it. His eyes held worry as he looked at it, it was dislocated at least from what he could see from his position.
He took your silence as enough of an answer as his eyes searched yours, "what if something like this happens again?"
"It won't." Your answer was stern, although the edge of your tone was taken off by the whisper of your voice, in the deadly silence of the building it felt almost like a crime to speak louder.
His eyes turned sad, the reality of the situation simply didn't allow you to make such a promise. He was painfully aware of it, yet somehow, as the words left your mouth, they felt reassuring to him. As if they settled some stomach twisting feeling he housed deep in his gut, as if a weight lifted ever some slightly of his shoulders, he was inclined to believe your bitter sweet lie.
"Heh, you know you can't be sure about that."
A small smile tugged on your lips, your one hand leaving your shoulder as it found itself on the top of his head, feeling the soft brown locks curl around your fingertips, "I can, because I know that you'll have my back if anything happens, just as much as I'll have yours."
"You-..You trust me with your life?"
"When did I not?" despite the obvious exhaustion he could see on your face, a small smile tugged on your lips.
In that moment, for maybe the first time in his life, the words left his mouth before he even thought about them, "But I wouldn't have been able to live without you."
Your eyes widened in shock, before a smile formed on your face, "I wouldn't let you live on without me either, I love you too much for that."

anyways hyperfixation on cc! and c!schlatt and c!quackity :') <33
I'm glad you're so hyped for it! I think i may be able to upload it either tonight or tomorrow some time. I actually have a separate account where I write for DSMP / MCYT (@alicee1), and although I haven't had any requests for either quackity or schlatt yet, I've written for SBI on there though and am currently running a small series on there that really feeds into my biology nerd side which I'm very excited about.

i was on vacation. at the beach. with no phone. no contact to the outside world.
also sorry if this is a dumb question, but do you know who jschlatt and quackity are? also do you know the dream smp?
I hope you had fun on vacation! Sometimes it's nice to not have any contact to the outside world but from experience, it some times sucks as well. Also it's not a dumb question! I know both of them, and I'm very aware of the Dream SMP (fun fact MCYT makes a small appearance in the background of your requested fic).

Corpse x GN!reader, Sykkuno x GN!reader, Toast x GN!reader
Word count: 1.5K
Requested: no
Synopsis: How Toast, Sykkuno and Corpse would be with a S/O studying for finals. Headcannons and fluff.
Warnings: none
A/n: Do I have more than enough requests? Yup! Should I probably work on those? Most likely. Basically wrote this during / after the most intense two to three weeks of studying I’ve experienced in at least a year. I needed some comfort so i provided myself with it, hope it can do the same for others even though most people have most likely already finished all their exams, tests, finals and all that already. Enjoy! (This was also mostly written at like 2AM the day of my last final, but it is proofread)
Masterlist
Corpse:
Let's be honest, he would have no idea what exactly it is you're studying
He knows some basics that are common sense and bits and pieces that he's collected while you were rambling about the topics to him
Generally though, he has no clue what's going on and certainly will not be able to help you do the actual studying
However if it helps for you to explain the topics to him instead of reading the books for a hundred times with seemingly no pay off, he'll gladly listen
Allows you to rant of about the intricate details as he fakes an understanding and nods his head along
Don't get him wrong, he loves to hear you talk and is genuinely interested in what you're saying, but you might as well be speaking a different language cause he cannot understand a singular word that passes your lips
If you're a night owl, that's great! He'll love to bring you midnight study snacks and bring a glass of water every so often
He definitely stays up with you and likes to just hang around the room where you study in the background and vibe to some music
Every so often he will walk up to you for head pats
The screen in front of you shone brightly, lighting up the room. The only thing telling you the time and date was your laptop. With the curtains permanently shut and having lost any sense of time you did possess over the past days, you wouldn't have a single clue how much time had passed otherwise.
Music comes through your headphones in attempt to keep you focussed on the matter at hand, a word document that is much longer than you would've liked containing all the summaries you had made over the past days.
The music however also deafened you from the sound of the door opening and closing, as Corpse stepped into your room with a white plastic bag containing some snacks and a cup of your favorite drink in his other hand.
As he set the objects on the desk beside you, you realized he had come in and pulled one side of your headset off your ear.
Corpse's arms wrap around you from behind, his chin resting on your head as you nuzzle yourself closer in his embrace. His eyes lazily trail over the text on the screen for a moment before they narrow and turn away.
Tilting your head back, you look at him from underneath, chuckling as you catch his confused look at the screen.
"when did you have this exam again?" The question escapes his lips almost with a hint of pity within.
Sykkuno:
Honestly I think it really depends on what you're studying if he will understand it or not
No matter what it is however, he is proud
When he has a chance in any conversation he'll casually bring you up and proudly explain what kind of complicated things you have been studying and how smart you are
He is so encouraging, no matter if he quite understand what it is you study or not
He probably would leave you interrupted while studying, but if you come out of your room to seek his attention out first he'll be so happy
If something bothers you or frustrates you about the material he's waiting with open arms to take your mind off it
If you're studying for long times he'll come to crave some affection so he'll either be glued to your side when you do finish or he will come and seek you out first
Will provide you with snacks, your favorite food, smoothies, coffee, tea, whatever you prefer while studying, he'll get it for you
Will want to spent time together once the stressful period is over, catching up to affection he may have missed during it
I think he'd definitely keep quite a careful watch over you in terms of rest
He will drag you off to bed at 2AM if you're still studying demanding you get some proper rest
"you know staying up this late is bad for your health, right?" The worry was evident in his voice as he leant against your desk as he stood beside you. His back was turned to the furniture and his eyes were glued to your tired face.
"it'll be worth it once summer vacation hits." You shoot Sykkuno a tired smile, making him turn his head to where your mug dutifully stood, as it had been for the past three days, half filled with your favorite study drink which had turned room temperature by now.
He raised his eyebrow in question, watching as you turn back to the screen that lights up your face with white light, the page's reflection in your eyes, "rest is important if you want to do well on the exam."
"so is knowledge and caffeine," though your words may be harsh, the tone with which they leave your lips easily tell him it was a joke, "besides, I'll just need to finish this last part."
His hand finds your hair, and you lean into his warm touch as you shut your eyes for a moment, taking in the moment. A small smile formed on his lips at the sight, his fingers threading through your hair.
"promise this is the last part?" He speaks up as you open your eyes once more, looking up at him as you give him a small smile.
The bags under your eyes paired with the exhausted look on your face had noy been as clear in the past days as they were currently. He admired you for your willpower to study these amounts, but you worried him sometimes with your behavior.
Your voice pulled him back to the small smile that played on your lips, "I promise."
Toast:
He's knowledgeable, not on all topics and subjects, but he's definitely knowledgeable
Start ranting to him about topics and he'll genuinely become interested and follow along, asking some questions here and there
If you ever need to write some sort of paper or essay, he'll gladly read it over for you for any mistakes or things to change
He won't admit it, but if you start explaining some of the things you're studying to him, he'll love it
Especially if it's something you're passionate about, he'd love to watch you explain stuff to him
The way your eyes shimmer, and how excited you look to talk to him about it all, he loves it
Forehead kisses while studying and will order food for you and bring drinks
Probably won't hang around too much in the room you're studying in to give you privacy and peace, but will come in and ruffle your hair before placing his lips on your head momentarily and wish you luck when he passes your door
In these moments often likes to sneak a peek at your papers or computer screen, just to see a glimpse of the topic you're working on
He doesn't mind if you stay up longer than him to study but will definitely drag you to bed for rest when he's decided you didn't give yourself enough rest
"I'm ordering take out, what do you want for dinner?" Toast is quick to poke his head around the corner of your door, phone in hand as he walks in and leans against the doorframe.
Pulling your headset off, you rotate your chair to the side, facing him as you question where he is planning to order.
He walks over to your desk to hand you his phone so you can scroll through the online menu, his hand quick to brush your hair back. Instead of pulling his hand away, he lets it stay in your hair, brushing through it a few times with his fingers.
While you were invested with the online menu, his eyes scan the screen, where you were working on the introduction to a paper.
He recognized the material, the day before you had trailed off on a small explanation that ended up much longer than intended when he asked what you were currently working on.
When you finish looking through the menu and having filled in your order, you catch his gaze glued to your screen.
Before he leaves your room he gives you some slight advice, offering to replace some words with others before wishing you good luck and leaving your room for the time being. At least until the food arrives.

trying to prove a point sorry for the intrusion and what is your opinion on "asexual" people?
Hi! You're not intruding at all don't worry! Asexuals are valid! Consider this blog a safe space for anyone of the LGTBQ+ community! I don't really know a lot about it, due to growing up relatively sheltered from it all but I'm educating myself on the topics these days. I consider everyone valid for their attractions and preferences (except pedophiles but they also are not part of the LGTBQ+ community, and that's logical). So yes, asexuals are valid for what they like, as is everyone else from the LGTBQ+ community!

i've been incredibly tired, and completely donr with this stuff atm ahah, thanks for asking! my younger sibling hates me rn-
it's nice to hear the comfy cartel asking is growing, i hope it isn't stressing you out!!
Oh I'm sorry to hear! I'm sure everything will get better though, and take care of yourself! School is currently taking up most of my time for writing but after Tuesday i should have more time so I can finish it. It's not stressing me out but i do feel kind of guilty for the other requests that are waiting to get answered. Take care of yourself and stay hydrated!

Hi! That's fine, I'd be flattered you'd think of me on Mondays <3
I've been slowly but surely adding to the comfy cartel ask you sent in a while back, and let me tell you, it's growing. I have no idea how long it is, or how long it'll end up being, but it's growing! College has been an absolute pain for the past weeks and will be for at least one or two more before vacation kicks in so I'm looking forward to that. How have you been? I hope you'll have a good day/night!!

happy monday hon! (are you pkay with me calling you that?)
i hope things have been great, and your monday's goin smoothly! <3
Hi! The nickname is fine, and I've been pretty alright despite circumstances. University is really hectic right now because of all my finals being stuffed in like 3 days time, so I'll probably end up only being able to write after I've finished all of that, which is kind of sad because I have quite a bit of ideas for this account and another account I've got going on. I've been working on the Comfy cartel request you send in the background though! It's becoming quite long because I've been wanting to write something's along the lines of the request for a while now. So keep a look out for that something in the bearish future (still probably after finals are finished in a week)! I hope your Monday has been great as well! Have a good day / night!
