Environment study!

I really suck at drawing city compared to more classic landscape, so pretty happy with it. It took me around 50 min to do

This design literally fought touth and nails, I just couldn’t get it working, but I’m pretty happy with the end result.

Here's a lil design for TOTK Zelda's Loftwing if they were in the game (let me live in denial, okay?)

Originally I wanted it to have a majority of green, but it just didn't work with the blues, wich I absolutly wanted to have. Basiclly, the lighter one represent silent princesses and the darker/purplier one is supposed to be a call back to sksw Zelda's Loftwing.

Anyway, I ended up going for yellow as the main color as it's the color that Zelda's power has, plus her hair color.

The tails end obviously represent the secret stones.

Hope y'all like it, I'm personnaly really happy with it, espassally the background.

Just a lil update on my Raphael design from @faberown story cause I had completly forgoten to draw her a halo and she just deserve to have a background, even a lazy one.

Both sexe of the pêcheur-couronné, mainly based on the european king fisher.

I LOVE how this turned out, espiacilly considering I do not usually go this deep in details (yeah I’m lazy), and let me tell you, the scales were a freaking pain to go throught, but hey, I did it!

I think I’m going to make to different design for the male and the female ´cause sexual dismorphism exist and, well, why should we private dragons of all the wonderfull possibilities it creates?

Honestly thought, don’t know when I’ll finish it.

Some pretty old Temeraire design

Honestly, I still like those, even thought I would have pretty much different design today.

So, in order we have:

A chasseur-vocifère (green one),

A plein-vite (yellow one),

Iskierka the kazilik,

A greyling (grey one),

and finally a winchester (brownish one).

And here we are with a second Temeraire dragon: The Kirin !

A japanese breed once again, so the thoughts I had while doing the Ka-Riu still aply here.

§the horns are based on the ones of the sika deer, native to japan.

I'm seriously thinking about doing another Ka-Riu design since I've done some pretty big resaerch on birds and buterflies from japan and there's just so much potential to do zan intersting design.

Anyway, hope you like this lil happy dragon playing in the water !

Here's a design for the Ka-Riu, an acid spiter from japan from Naomi Novik's series Temeraire (my gods how much I love those books)

A few thoughts on this design:

It has 3 talons on each legs because from the lil resaerch I've done, the main difference between a chinese and a japanese dragon is that the chinese one have either 4 or 5 talons where the japanese one only have 3.

Same for the somewhat long body, japanese dragons are usually more serpent like than chinese one.

Japanese dragons are usually asociated to water, so the crest are supposed to ressembe a fish, and the lil nose nodlle (I don't how to say it in english) are based on the koi fish, and it will be the case for all of my future design for japanese breed.

Still on the crest, I put a lot of them for it to look like some sort of fire, as Ka-Riu is describe in the mytologie as a crimson dragon, somtimes made of fire.

Anyway I'm really happy with how this turned out, and will totally do more dragons from these books, perhaps even create some breeds myself (probably japanese ones)

So, I really suck at drawing architecture and environments as a whole but I do love traditional buildings, espacially japanese ones, it’s just so elegant.

Anyway, her’s a quick sketch of a japanese pagode with the ref I used.
