Mudwing/Swampwing(?) Oppression

I like the Idea of Mudwing's being originally called Swampwing's but the other dragons got pretty racist and hateful towards their lifestyle and where they lived. So they started calling them Mudwing's as a derogatory term, then as a sociality, Mudwing's just became the stereotype they are in the books.

I feel like Mudwings as a whole are an oppressed tribe, their population alone is a threat to other kingdoms, so on top of the Mudwing Queen it's just the other six tribe micromanaging their population so they don't feel threatened. Their seen as Dumb, gluttonous and overall trash because they've been shoved to the lower end of the stick by everyone else, it gives a reason for Queen Moorhen to be so subservient to Burn. She might run her own tribe but ancient peace orders force her to keep her population low so when a war breaks out and her population suddenly sky rockets to make soldiers.

They need a plain to eventually even out that population. And when the war was starting to come to an end and the Mudwings were going to fight in Icewing territory it was an actually suicide plot and Moorhen feels absolutely horrible about it because their all so young.

This could also make the Mudwings more important because Clay and Sunny stopped the attack saving Clay's siblings, but would make an even worse issue with the other tribes. And Moorhen could finally stand up for her tribe when she first meets with the other six queens in council, putting her foot down. She'll let her tribe stop their breeding program to let their tribe even out naturally, and would offer Mudwing services to other tribes to keep them happy.

Mudwings are so fucking capable as a tribe, they'd be great for almost every single job there is, they can almost live everywhere, their family orientated. They had so much potential.

Wof tribes redesign again!!!!! Ive been figuring out how to make them quadroped wingwalkers with malleable hands in a way that i like. I gave them pterosaur swag cause theyre my fav beasts.

Ancestral traits of my headcannon tribes

feathers, exterior ears, six limbs, beaks with teeth, wing walking, thumb knucklewalking

skywings- upright posture with long long limbs, lacking a wing thumb for a more aerodynamic build, reduced tail. They have the hottest fire and hunt aerial prey, they are highly mobile in the air.

Icewings- tallest tribe, black skin under feathers. Clear feathers, feathers on neck modified to form shiny/pearlescent spikes. They rattle when they move and they persist ant hunt large land prey.

Nightwings- Covered in iridescent star spots, have grooves on their patagium to facilitate silent flight (a la owl), and have fluff around their beaks. They have really good hearing.

rainwings- Standard posture has flexible neck folded, feathers and scales can change color. Small, elliptical wings allow for fast pursuit through thick forest but are not good for long distance flight. Short legs are better for climbing then running.

Mudwing- Has tusks that grow through the lower jaw and thick armor and osteoderms. Secondarily featherless and wallow to avoid sun damage. Sit and wait ambush predators, a la crocodile, squat posture means they are not efficient walkers.

Sandwing- Long limbs, mane down back with quill spines. dark skin to protect against sun damage, Ossicones! Grapple flying prey and immobilize them with their tail stingers.

Seawings- Largest dragons, thick webbed spines on back that can flatten down, short wings permit flight but are not efficient. Better at swimming then walking or flying. Barbles on face are sensory organs.

I did mention in another post a while ago that someone was coming home soon. This is who I was talking about. He went missing 15/02/2025 I found out 4 days later he was deceased and in cold storage at the local vet. He’s home now.

He use to follow me around the house, he liked to bite the fingers of people he liked, every night I’d have him in my room and every time I’d come home from work he’d lay on my bed waiting for me. And now I don’t get that.

I hope he’s doing ok where ever he ended up in death, I hope he’s not scared or anxious.

A reminder for Trans people, I hope you guys are safe where ever you are. Currently in Australia, more specifically Queensland (a state) had an immediate banned basic trans health care for minors (Puberty blockers and HRT) in public facilities, as early a January 2025. And when America started to push more bills as seen below, it upped the Suicide rate for trans youth as YOUNG AS 13. Australia is also at 18-45% of trans people Adults and YOUTH having attempted Suicide.

Just because America is being a complete fuck fest doesn't mean it isn't reach out to other countries, keep track of your own countries and what their going. This will be pinned for the American Anti-trans bill tracker, they have listed everything, including every bill in affect.

Another thing. I am from Australia, conversion rates are literal dog shit. Me trying to donated into a foreign currency is like 1.5-2 times the amount I'm actually putting. I'd be lucky to be dragged down an extra 10, or more.

The Canadian dollar, US dollar and Euro's are roughly 1.10-1.64 in AUD. I hate conversion rates. But I hope people are also doing ok, with Gaza still under fire and Trump being president. Stay safe.

Red kite is honestly a sweet heart.

Tried to make her size accurate to the Date night announcement post, turned out pretty alright. Also Red kite's flower is there :)

Gale is honestly above average for her tribes size, mainly because of her age. Gale is the Stormwing General, a lot of her scars aren't from battles/wars but personal conflicts, I haven't worked on my fantribe lore to much because I'm not there in the story yet.

EDIT: Stormwings are mainly polyamorous so Gale is definitely married at this point in her life but yk healthy poly relationships! (not implying anything on Red kite that's why it's a speed date)
