anxious attachment culture is obsessively researching and reading about attachment theory to keep yourself distracted enough so you won’t text your avoidant close friend/person you have (had?) feelings for and overwhelm them a bunch again because you’re trying so fucking hard to give them space and move toward a secure attachment style… even when it hurts like shit that they won’t communicate and you feel abandoned and like this cycle of falling into old patterns will never end because you never see it coming until it’s too late and you’re scared it’s too late again💔

Hello! This is a “______ culture-is” blog centered and focused around different anxiety disorders! It’s goal is to mainly form a community and find other people who also suffer from anxiety!

Of course, there has to be some ground rules

Anxious attachment culture is your best (and quite literally only) friend telling you that she is going to move 6+ hours away in two or so years and having a total meltdown and panic attack over it

Yes that's still a long way off but the feeling of abandonment gets triggered just when my brain makes fake scenarios of her leaving, now that she's confirmed it's actually going to happen I can't help but feel constant impending doom

I logically know she's not actually abandoning me, I logically know that she would never do such a thing, but that doesn't stop my brain from treating it as abandonment and doing everything in it's power to convince me it's abandonment

Anxious attatchment is i havent spoken to this friend all day and i was scared the whole friendship group on the server hated me until i joined the vc and then now im still anxious this one person doesnt like me but he normally joins vc and now im scared that something bad happened to him and-

Sorry I realise that last one sounds like Im shitting on all avoidants but im not. Im just pissed about that one because they used it as an excuse to blame me because I was too possessive and clingy and they didnt like that :/

You have more value than you think you do, and if people did leave you you'd end up being alright because you have inherent worth and value without others approval. You'll be okay :)
