“You should’ve seen him in battle. He’s quick and smart. He moves like the wind, yet, he seems he’s had all the time in the world to think everything through. It’s…” Uncanny. “Impressive.”

“I guess I’ll experience his guidance soon enough. But, I fail to understand… You speak your praise as if it was a bad thing, Your Highness. Do you not trust him?”

Dimitri shook his head. “It’s not like that.” It was not as if he hadn’t seen dreadful enemies in combat before. Professor Catherine and Manuela were up there, and Felix was well on his way to become a swordmaster. “It’s just…” But he was different. Manuela enjoyed being a flirt, and Catherine could often be found cheering on the Houses at the tournaments the Monastery held. Seteth was fearsome when angry, and Hanneman’s eyes sparkled when he spoke of Crests. Everyone had traces of humanity in them, however… “I’ve yet to see him smile once.”

“Some people are cold, Your Highness.”

“It just… Unnerves me.”

A missed step was everything the Professor needed to topple Felix over.

Felix tried to catch his breath as he stood up, yet, the Professor didn’t even sweat.
