As you are looking at ao3 stuff why do you think f/f ships have less?

Okay so first off f/f ships are not unpopular. They just didn't have a head start on ao3, in the old days people built their own sites, because everyone decided that yes let's use only one site was a good idea, (it isn't this why ai was able to use it to train but that is a whole other thing)

This led to those sites not being kept up and Ton of f/f fics have been lost because of it.

Secondly f/f ships have steadily increased, doubling on ao3 each year, 44% more than there were last year already btw. And above any other category in % of increase.

Third they don't have many mainstream ships where m/m & f/m do. By which I mean a show that is beloved around the world is going to have many writers around the globe whereas one might only be known in country x and have 15 writers in total.

I know every year when top 100 ao3 ship comes out the debate is why does everyone hate f/f ships happens and then comes the response well if you want it so bad write it.

But I find this whole debate on all sides disrespectful to those I can clearly see working their butts off in variety of fandoms.
