Headcanon that all Asgardian weapons are sentient and choose their wielders. The chosen wielder can "hear" the weapon's voice in their head

Cue Thor wondering why he can't hear Mjolnir (because the hammer was handed over by odin who said it chose him)

Loki hearing a weapon speaking to him but not knowing where the weapon is

Mjolnir extremely salty over being in the hands of this excessively destructive blond idiot when it's meant for so much more than just destroying. Wondering why the prince it did choose hasn't shown up to claim it yet despite screeching at all hours of the day "LOKI I CHOOSE YOU YOU ARE MY CHOSEN COME AND RETRIEVE ME"

Loki just finding Mjolnir left on an empty table in one of the palace's rooms and,,, you know,, picking it up to go put it away only to hear the weapon that chose him go "FINALLY! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET YOU TO RETRIEVE ME EVER SINCE THAT BLOND IDIOT FIRST HELD ME"

Loki being beyond confused because he and Thor were both told by odin that it chose Thor why was it saying otherwise????
