I tried a new method of applying light and shadow, and it seems to have turned out pretty well. Overall, I think I managed to perfectly capture the old atmosphere!

This is my OC from the original story. Her name is Kirara, you might remember her from the reference I posted a few months ago. Her design was slightly redesigned to make her look more Japanese. Kirara herself is only half Japanese and has never lived in Japan.

According to the plot of the story, she and Viola (the old reference) ended up in another world. Kirara ended up in a country of elves, whose culture is very similar to Asian. You could say that she has gone back to her origin

Notes for Merciful

These are notes to my fanfic on ao3.

Because I want to write so much about what I wrote, I decided that it was too much text to write them under the chapter and decided to post them on Tumblr instead. This post may be updated as I post new chapters.

General notes

There is an unknown amount of time between each chapter that has been posted, unless one chapter directly continues the plot of the previous one.

There are differences between the timeline and the AU. If you were paying attention, you can see how differently these terms were used by Error in the fanfic. AU - this is where the story has changed dramatically due to intervention or other factors, or the world itself has undergone dramatic changes. Timeline - has only minor differences from the AU to which the timeline belongs. For example, in Chapter 10, Error noticed that Star is more of a pacifist than his original from Outertale. But if because of this the story had changed dramatically from the original's story from Outertale, then the timeline would have become AU. Error had the idea that because of this change in Star's character, the timeline could have gone completely differently and become AU. It still became AU due to Error's intervention

Error doesn’t talk, he’s not mute, and I think that if he wants to, he’ll talk, but this requires a very good reason. He is rather afraid to speak because of what he experienced in the anti-void, even if his memories of how he became Error are now very blurry.

The glitches in my AU are more emotionally stable, but their instability manifests itself in moments of emotional vulnerability or overload

Chapter 3 notes

When Error dives into the world of code for first time, you might think that Error is quite young compared to the other gods and guardians, because by this point the main forces of the multiverse have already been formed. In reality, Error spent centuries in the anti-void turning into a glitch, but what is time in the anti-void compared to time in the AU? So Error himself is older than he seems, even if as a god he is younger than the others.

Chapter 12

As you can see, the higher gods are on a completely different level of power, considering that they were able to interfere with the timeline and erase all traces of interference. In fact, they violated the logic of the code, which I think only gods are really capable of, because in reality this is not possible, given that the characters of the game interact with each other. I say this as someone who is studying to be a programmer :_)

Don't know if I'll add this information to the fanfic, but it's interesting

In this multiverse, the gods have a practice of taking AU "under their protection", this is a formality and is not reflected in any way either on the AU or in the code, so Error may not know this, considering that the code is his main source of information.

Each god has its own space, in the case of Dream and Nightmare it was Dreamtale, for Ink it was the Doodle sphere, for Error it was the Anti-Void. All these places have their own importance. After the destruction of Dreamtale, the balance in the multiverse became a little confusing.

These are designs for my OCs for one story that is currently in development and I would like to write a full story

The concept of the story is that two girls end up in another world that is in a state of war. Kirara ends up with the elves, and Viola with the demons against whom a war is being actively waged. After a while, the reasons for the war, conspiracies, prophecies, old records are revealed and everything turns out to be much more complicated than it seemed at first. And in order to restore peace, Kirara and Viola must rise to the top of the world

The working title for the story is "Two Kings". The idea came to me quite suddenly. To be precise, I was very inspired by two TikToks that my friend sent me, where your race and your role were written according to your dates of birth. My friend was a demon, and I was an elf, and we were both were kings. For some reason, I remembered the The Chronicles of Narnia and The Magicians and at some point I couldn't stop thinking and this is what came out just a few days later

Part of the story is based on expectation-reality or something like that. First of all, for this story I take typical elves (beautiful, graceful, arrogant blondes) and demons (repulsive creatures that have unimaginable physical strength). And one would expect that Kirara would end up with demons, and Viola with elves, simply based on their appearance, but in fact everything happens quite the opposite and I can just imagine how people around in that other world look and think "How did such a gloomy tired girl even become friends with elves?" and "Why does such a beautiful girl as the sun hang out with demons?". You can also notice that their crowns do not at all correspond to what is expected from the race each of them is with. But their characters and skills will completely correspond to the situations each of them got into

I feel like if I continue I'll be talking forever about the various things I've already thought through, so I'll try to do that later in another post.

Be careful when asking a powerful yokai for a favor, who knows what he might ask for in return

The first name written is each person's personal/first name, the second is who they are, the third is their age, the fourth is a respectful name, and the fifth is a short name. Personal names are rarely used in the yokai world, and are usually used only by small and weak spirits. But stronger yokai or gods usually have at least one more name by which they are addressed and with which they can make contracts

You need to choose who you can trust with your first name wisely, because you can do a lot with just a name

For the first time in a long time I decided to draw and made myself a new avatar with my oc

I think I like Nightmare ( ´-ω-)

I like the version of Dreamtale where passive!Nightmare and the corrupted!Nightmare are the same person(as I know in the original passive and corrupted Nightmare are two different "people"). I believe that if they were still one person, Nightmare would have begun to regret everything he did at some point, after the obsession caused by corruption subsided, but then it turned out to be too late to change anything. As a result, the conflict between him and Dream is not so complicated as it is long, and it is because of this that it is difficult for both of them to decide to do something
