Okay I wasn’t that convinced that Dan was jealous of Adam in the first clip even though it’s in a bunch of jealous Dan compilations, I thought he might have just been distracted or trying to be funny but I was rewatching 2012 younows and saw the second clip

And oh my god Dan, at least try to hide your jealousy of Adam, he’s right there. Like can you roll your eyes more dramatically? Why hasn’t this clip been spread more? This is more convincing than the Sam the surfer clips to me because in those clips you can argue he was just upset about Phil believing coincidences mean something when he doesn’t believe in anything supernatural. But here, why would he be upset about Phil enjoying a week in Ireland with a friend who Dan clearly gets along with? I think it’s also relevant to mention that Adam is in fact gay.

been thinking a lot lately about the regeneration cycles of doctor who and how they’re such a great metaphor for the phases we go through in life

because every single doctor has had their own personalities, quirks, catchphrases, styles. but there are common themes and beliefs and doctorisms that show you that, despite it all, they are still the doctor. i imagine it like a quantum wavefunction where every regeneration is an observation that collapses them into one personality for the next however long. but there’s still a primary distribution that is the doctor

i spent the past year in a metamorphosis of sorts, and now i’m on the other side and i feel like a stranger to myself. and it can be such a scary position to be in, but ive been picturing the doctor every time they regenerate and spend an episode or two learning their new mind and body. finding a new style, picking back up some old habits and shedding others, even switching genders once. exploring.

and it’s just so comforting to think of myself in the same way. i’ve changed. i’ve grown. but that doesn’t mean i’m not myself anymore, i’m just somewhere else on the distribution now. so comforting to know that i just need time to learn this new mind and body. to look at a photo of myself from years past and remember that despite everything, it’s still me.
