current fan creation landscape is kinda like if you went to a party with a homemade cake and everyone takes a slice and silently thumbs up at you with no attempt to start a conversation except for occasionally some guy sits in the corner with a tape recorder critiquing the cake as though he was a restaurant critic and another guy is handing the cake to an uber driver like "yeah i need you to find a restaurant that makes cake like this so i can have more of it" and the only person that's talked to you in 30 minutes is a very sweet little guy who was like "hey i liked your cake" and then ran away apologizing for bothering you the moment you said thank you.

Does anyone have podcast/audio-drama recommendations for stories with early 1900’s high society vibes? I’m thinking speakeasy’s and casinos and flapper dresses and art deco. Something sort of like the great gatsby or Lackadaisy, with gunfights and car chases and prohibition era type vibes. I haven’t come across any in my adventures, so any suggestions?

I hear your voice- excerpt from Chpt. 5

“Seems busier than last year doesn’t it?” he asked Regulus over his shoulder.

“I think it’s always like-” Regulus started to answer before someone shoved hard into his back, nearly sending him toppling to the ground.

“Whoa! Sorry!” The dark haired boy said, grabbing onto Regulus’s arms for stability and standing himself up straight.

Regulus twisted around to snap at him to watch it, but stopped the moment he saw who it was.

“Potter,” he hissed instead, flinching out of his grip.

James Potter blinked in surprise, looking extremely startled. “Oh!” he said, clumsily stepping back onto the foot of a girl standing behind him, and having to turn to apologize to her too.

Regulus glared, a sense of dread filling his stomach, and before he could stop himself his eyes had darted around Potter to look behind him– and he saw his brother.

Sirius was standing there- his hair down to his shoulders, wearing muggle clothes, and red eye liner. He had on a series of red and gold bracelets on both wrists and was trying to tug his own trunk and balance Potters as he dealt with his collision in the corridor. He hadn’t noticed Regulus at all yet.

So he had gone to the Potter’s after all. And they had taken him in.

Good.

Fine.

“Sorry, wasn’t watching where I was going,” Potter said, turning back and directing this apology at Regulus. “Can we get around you two? We want that compartment up at the front,” he said. He lifted his hand and ran it through his wild black hair, making it even more wilder than usual. Regulus glared.

“Not surprising,” Regulus said, “you can’t keep your eyes on the quaffle when in the air– makes sense you’d lose track of your own two feet when you’re on the ground,” he said coldly.

He saw Sirius’s head snap up in his peripheral vision, but didn’t take his eyes off Potter.

The older boy just rolled his eyes, that stupid crooked grin still on his face. “Why don’t you keep that sort of talk to yourself until after the first game– or are you worried your insults won't hit as hard after we’ve beaten you?” he asked happily, turning sideways to slip past him. “See you on the pitch baby Black.” he smiled.

Regulus’s anger made his chest and his face burn.

“Don’t call me that,” he scoffed.

Potter raised his brows, “just baby then?” he grinned.

Evan grabbed Regulus’s arm to pull him aside as Potter and Sirius moved past him, Sirius knocking into Regulus with Potter’s trunk as he passed.

“Those two seriously have to be the most obnoxious people to have ever walked these halls,” Evan said.

Regulus watched Sirius move away from him, unconsciously waiting to see if he’d glance back. He didn’t, and eventually he and Potter were both lost in the crowd.

A loud whistle blew from the front of the train and the doors to the platform closed magically. Regulus turned around to head in the other direction, tugging Evan along after him. “Come on, let’s find a compartment this way,” he muttered, wanting to sit as far from his brother as possible.
