Does anyone have podcast/audio-drama recommendations for stories with early 1900’s high society vibes? I’m thinking speakeasy’s and casinos and flapper dresses and art deco. Something sort of like the great gatsby or Lackadaisy, with gunfights and car chases and prohibition era type vibes. I haven’t come across any in my adventures, so any suggestions?

i wrote this drabble, and since it was only a 100 words, being a drabble, i decided to turn it into a zine!

if you don't know the fandom, this is a fanfic for a fiction podcast called kaleidotrope, it's only 10 episodes and "a queer fannish romcom" and takes place on a maybe magical college campus where fanfic tropes happen for real. or do they...

it's also implied magic is real besides the trope magic that's maybe real, and i think that's the case and this is canon compliant

I know I’m literally six years late, but I just found a podcast from 2019 that has a Joshua Ilon cameo in the final episode where he literally just comes in and makes Juno Steel jokes for ten minutes then leaves.

Literally made my day. It was like finding an extra little Juno Steel Easter egg in the least expected place.

so I started seeing all the death note in my dash and thought, huh someone is really into it again, then I came across your recent post talking about your fics.

So now I’m like ‘that’s pretty cool, I’ll probably check out some fics and then have death note appear in my dash now and again’, which takes me to check why I even followed you in the first place (in case there’s any hints in the popular posts).

Low and behold, my jaw literally dropped when I saw you’re the co-creator of the Kaleidotrope podcast!!! It’s been quite a while since I listened to it but it’s very near and dear to my heart still. Just wanted to pop up and say thank you for making such a wonderful show!!!

It genuinely upsets me that more people haven’t listened to kaleidotrope cause I feel like the podcast is truly one of the best expressions of love and relationships and the different ways that they can look with what I think is in my humble opinion one of the best confessions/shows of romance to be written in fiction because they play into the cheesiness of it just enough that it balances with the pressure that the characters feel and I really never get tired of it

Given that the only way anyone knows anything about them is through their words, Drew feels like he should be more eloquent when people stop them on campus to gush about true love and soulmates and happy endings. But he never knows what to say to all of that. He wants to ask, How do you know any of that is true? Everyone else at Sidlesmith seems so sure.

But then Harrison does something that makes him laugh, even after a dismal day, and Drew feels just as certain as everyone else about true love and soulmates and happy endings.
