When the purpose of a thing is not known, we undervalue it, misuse, and even will go to the extreme and kill it sometimes. We ALL do this in one way shape or another. My concern is when it has to do with people. . It is our responsibility to know that every person has a purpose. If you don't know it, ask em! If they don't know it, help them identify it! . I was 11 when I first had the thought of taking my own life. We had just been resettled to America as refugees. (It was bitter sweet)...I'd always dreamed of how amazing America would be, I fantasized, had visions and it consume my every thought. My initial experience however I couldn't have predicted. 🔸️ 7th grade was hell for me. I had 1 friend, a little Spanish girl named Elizabeth Rodriguez. (I will always love her) When she wasn't in school I had no one. I remember having to hide in the stalls in the bathroom during lunch periods because kids were so mean to me. (Looking back, I skipped lunch a lot) 🔸️ I didn't understand it, I was too young to wrap my head around all that was happening. The cultural difference didn't help. I prayed so hard to God to return me back to the refuge camp. I would rather go back to what was hell because the hell I was in was too much for me to bare. 🔸️ I never told my parents. I would return home from school and pretend all was well, because for the 1st time in years my parents were hopeful for life. Sleep became my bestfriend NOT knowing it was the beginning of DEPRESSION. 🔸️ I felt I had no right to say anything to anyone because God had done such an amazing thing by bringing us to this place and how ungrateful it would be to complain. School didn't get better. I FELT SO ALONE! 🔸️ For 14 years I suffered in silence. All that people around me saw was what I wanted them to see.
