The friend I usually go running with in the mornings said we should take Saturdays off because we probably needed the rest, also that his ankle was hurting. So no running today. It's odd, I thought I'd be happy for a break but I was already awake so I didn't get to sleep in. Also, I feel super lazy now. I have so much to do, not just writing but voluntary summer school as well and summer reading books I need to complete, but I have no motivation to do anything. I just want to lay in bed. I guess running got me more motivated for the day. Now I'm just laying here, trying to will myself to get up and be productive.

Navigating Ideas

Let me talk about actual writing stuff. Something that was really difficult for me personally was actually picking an idea and sticking with it. Having ADHD, I get ideas for book and game plots pretty often. Some come and pass, others I kind of run with and flesh out a bit, but then eventually I lose interest, or can’t come up with a conclusion to the plot. Occasionally I come back to the story and mess with a bit, but never finish it.

However, what I believe is different with the book in trying to write now, is that the idea I’ve chosen is extremely simple compared to those I’ve had in the past. Before, I was coming up with plots set in the Middle Ages about taking over entire kingdoms, or one set in the future about over throwing the government.

The plot I’m concentrating on now is-what I’ve been calling- very John Green-esque.

It revolves around a teenage cast, faced with an abnormal situation.

The basic idea: a girl falls in love with her stalker after he kills for her.

I’m still building upon it a lot, I don’t even have a name for it. But I believe book titles often come easier towards the end.

I hope that, because of the plots simplicity, I will be able to finish it and call it my first book.

Back home and waiting for my turn in the shower. I just remembered I have voluntary summer school to work on, so I won't have as much time to write as I thought I would.

Just woke up at 7:25AM. Gonna meet up with a friend today at 8:30 to go running. Hopefully when I get back I can just take a small nap and start writing or plot developing.

Here We Go

I'm going to try and write a book. Here I'll post about the process of me doing so. I think it'll be an interesting ride with ADHD and the fact I'm actually really excited about this. Advise and criticism is greatly welcome.
