Since you're rewriting the entire MCU, I'm curious: what are your thoughts on Thor and Jane's breakup? I like them individually, but like how the fact that they loved each other but sort of grew apart/out of the relationship. (Also tbh it's so unrealistic that most fictional couples never break up.)

I thought that the breakup made sense, but it's hard for me not to be a little miffed about how it happened. Which is less of a condemnation of the MCU's writing and more because I know the background information about how Feige screwed over Natalie Portman and f*cked with her contract during Dark World, which is why she wasn't in Ragnarok.

I think the big problem between Jane and Thor is the fact that he's an alien who will live for millennia, and Jane is a human. Dark World had a lot of people reminding Thor of this, and the original ending was a breakup between him and Jane because Jane realized there was such an uneven power dynamic (which they later cut and replaced with a hastily filmed kiss scene, which was not actually with Natalie Portman because she was too busy for reshoots). I like Jane; I like the Lady Thor comics, where she controls Mjolnir (spoilers?). I don't hate Jane and Thor together, but they're far from OTP status in my mind, and when they broke up, I was reasonably unbothered (except for being upset at all the behind the scenes f*ckery). I think it is realistic that they break up, especially considering the insurmountable differences between their characters. I do wish we had a little more information about the break up (but I love that Thor was Dumped).

I am looking forward to Taika helming Thor Love and Thunder because Natalie Portman/Jane Foster will return as Lady Thor, and I have faith in him for that project and portrayal (he was able to convince Natalie to come back, and it's not like she's low on work or anything).

(I promise I'm not hating on you I'm just curious) for your picture series of the female Avengers, why did you decide to do "Loki Laufeysdottir" when he calls himself Odinson in the MCU?

Well, I'm used to that name (Laufey>Odin) from the comics, and also in the AU that this blog is associated Odin is much worse than he is in the MCU so I envision all of his kids end up no longer associating with him.

Hi so this is totally out of the blue but uhhhhhh I also commented on AO3 (same username!) and I love your writing and you mentioned in one of the chaps for Winter’s Wife that you were looking for someone to bounce ideas off of? I’m also writing a canon divergence fic (it’s for Endgame!) that’s kinda similar to yours but like not really idk I’m rambling but if the position isn’t filled I’d love to hear your ideas again sorry if this is weird 😅
