lgbt hp headcannons
ginny has a strong preference for women, but has only ever seriously dated guys because of internalized homophobia.
harry's a pretty even bi, slight preference for women.
hermione is straight but an ally, ron is unlabeled and likes to keep it that way. all anyone needs to know about him is that he’s in love with hermione.
CHARLIE WEASLEY IS ARO.
harry's first crushes (though he didn't know it at the time) were bill weasley and cedric diggory. he finally realized they were crushes years later and everything made so much sense.
albus severus is gay, james sirius is straight, and lily luna is pan. there's no way james isn't an ally though because he's in a fully gay family.
ginny and luna made out a few times in fifth year when ginny wasn't with michael.
dean and seamus are so very gay for each other.
theo nott? gayest person in the series.
not really lgbt, but ginny and theo are platonic soulmates who both have massive crushes on harry, though theo respects ginny’s claim to harry.
wolfstar.

“Mum, dad? Can I talk for a second?” Albus Potter stood in the doorway of his parent’s bedroom. Ginny looked up from her book and smiled at her son.
“Of course, Al.” She patted the bed in front of her. “What’s up?”
Albus took a deep breath, sitting precariously on the edge of his parent’s oversized bed. His father had joined his mother sitting up, and now both sets of eyes were watching their son’s every move. “I don’t really know how to say it.”
“Take your time.” Ginny shifted, glancing at her husband.
A minute of silence and the teen spoke again. “You know Scorpius?”
“Malfoy,” it wasn’t a question, but Albus nodded in response to his father’s statement.
“Malfoy.” He confirmed. “He and I… Well, we aren’t just friends.” Harry and Ginny shared a glance. Albus couldn’t tell if it was amusement, surprise, confusion, or disgust. Maybe a mixture.
“We know.” Harry spoke up. Ginny nudged him.
“How?” Albus didn’t really know what he was expecting from his parents. He thought maybe they would have gotten mad, maybe screamed at him. His father may have been even more ashamed of having him as a son. Maybe they would have told him he didn’t know what he was feeling. Either way, the one thing the teen hadn’t expected was that they knew.
“We may be old, but we’re not blind, Al.” His mother laughed. “We’ve seen the way you two look at each other. Your dad and I were young once, believe it or not. We know the signs.” Albus tried not to think about his mum thinking about his dad the way Albus thought about Scorpius.
“How close have you two gotten?” Harry entered back into the conversation.
Albus turned Weasley red. “Why are you asking about my sex life, dad?” Harry was speechless.
Ginny burst out laughing, while Harry turned almost as red as his son. “I don’t think he meant to. Your father was asking whether you just have a crush on him or if you’re dating.”
“We’re dating.” Albus’ confidence returned to him. “Have been for about eight months.” Ginny and Harry exchanged another smirk, seeing the look on their son’s face as he talked about his boyfriend.
“Why didn’t you tell us sooner?”
“I didn’t know how you would react. Dating Scorpius is taboo.”  His parents looked confused, so he continued. “For one, Scorpius is a guy. I didn’t know how you would react to that. Also, he’s a Malfoy.”
“Oh, honey. Scorpius being a Malfoy doesn’t matter. Your father is perfectly civil with Draco. As long as Scorpius makes you happy, we’re happy.” Ginny kicked her husband lightly under the blanket, prompting him to agree with her.
Harry gritted his teeth. “Of course, that’s all that matters.” He got more comfortable. “As for him being a bloke, I really don’t have any room to tell you off in that category.” Harry rubbed the back of his neck, exchanging another look with his wife. He had been wanting to tell his children for some time, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Albus’ eyes grew wide as realization dawned on him. “You don’t mean… you’re gay?”
“Bi.” Harry corrected him. “I’m married to, and very much in love with, a witch, if you haven’t noticed. But no, I’m not straight.”
Seemingly having forgotten all about his situation, Albus pried his father for information. “Have you ever dated a bloke?” Harry shook his head. “So then, how do you know?”
“How did you know, before Scorpius?” Figuring he was too far gone to keep anything from his son, Harry responded honestly. “I’ve kissed guys and had crushes.”
“Who have you kissed?” Albus looked like he was in the middle of watching the best movie he’d ever seen.
“That’s on a need to know basis, actually.”
“Come on, dad. I won’t judge.” He pleaded, his voice coming dangerously close to whining. “At least tell me if it’s someone I know. Do you know, mum?” He directed his efforts to Ginny.
“Of course I do.”
“Please tell me!”
“Can’t do that.” Ginny smirked.
“Why not!” The fourteen-year-old Potter fell dramatically onto his parent’s bed.
Albus’ show and his parent’s laughter attracted the attention of his siblings.
“What’s going on?” James came around the corner, toweling his messy hair after a shower. Lily wasn’t far behind.
Albus smirked. Even after all these years, Harry was putty in Lily’s hands. Albus knew he, or more likely Lily, could worm the answers he wanted out of his father now. “Dad likes blokes.”
“Ah, finally fessed up, did you, dad?”
“It wasn’t some well-protected secret,” Harry began before his youngest son cut him off.
“Wait - you knew? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I figured it out on my own about two years ago. Despite being the resident straight of the family, I pride myself on my ability to detect when other people aren’t. Dad’s been unknowingly out to me since fourth year.” James smirked at his father’s raised eyebrow. “Though I will hand it to you, Al, dad was a lot harder to catch onto than mum. I had her labeled by the time I turned thirteen.”
Ginny cleared her throat, sharing yet another look with her husband. “‘Labeled’ as what, exactly?” She opened her arms and Lily snuggled up next to her.
“If you weren’t sickeningly in love with dad, I’d say you’d be married to a girl for sure.”
“You’re right,” Ginny answered. “I’m not straight, and if you must know, I do have a preference for women, but that doesn’t mean it’s your place to say that. And I wouldn’t trade my life and your dad for anything.”
James just shrugged.
“The point, Al” Harry cleared his throat, “Is that your mum and I love you and will love whoever you love, even if they are a Malfoy.”
Albus rolled his eyes. “Okay, dad. But don’t think you’re getting away without telling me who you’ve kissed.”
“Dad’s only kissed mum, Alby!” Lily chimed in from between her parents.
Laughter erupted from the rest of the family as Harry kissed the top of his daughter’s head and then leaned over to kiss his wife, much to the protest of his sons.

Seamus' face turned quickly from surprise to laughter as what his best friend had just said. Dean chuckled along, starting to jog lightly ahead of him.
"We're gonna be late, Seamus!"
The shorter boy snorted. "Give me a reason to care." He didn't bother picking up his pace. "Just walk with me, will you?"
Dean made a show of rolling his eyes but ran back up the hill to meet his roommate. They kept walking towards the quidditch pitch, hands hanging carelessly at their sides. Seamus blushed as his pale fingers brushed those of his dark-skinned friend. not just a friend, a part of his brain tried to correct him.
But Seamus was jolted back to reality as the duo reached the bottom of the hill and a flash of red hair stepped into Dean's waiting arms. The Irish man had to look away as his roommate's lips met those of his girlfriend.
"I was wondering if you would end up showing."
"I always do." Dean stepped away.
"Just with less time to spare every day." She threw her sweaty hair in a ponytail. "Hey Seamus."
"Hey, Ginny. Good to see you." Seamus sported a weak smile. He liked the youngest Weasley, he really did, but he had a hard time not resenting her when she's got the boy he's sure he loves wrapped around her finger.
"Can we head up?" Once again, Seamus was brought back to his current position by Ginny Weasley's voice.
"Sounds good to me, Seamus you coming?" Dean grabbed his girlfriend's hand, not unnoticed by Seamus.
"Uh, no you go on ahead I'll meet you back in the tower."
Dean and Ginny exchanged a glance. "Are you sure? You're welcome to walk with us."
"Yeah, I've got something I've got to take care of, I just remembered."
"Alright mate," Dean seemed to accept his answer. "See you up there." He turned, slipping his arm around Ginny's waist, and they headed up toward the brightly lit castle.
Seamus walked the other way. He thought he'd sit in the locker rooms for a minute and just collect his thoughts. He had to get a hold of himself.
The sixth year sat down heavily on a bench right outside the pitch, staring off into the darkening sky.
"You okay?" A brighter female voice spoke this time.
Seamus looked up into the concerned eyes of Katie Bell, who's hair was thrown haphazardly into a do similar to Ginny's. "Oh yeah, I'm good. Sorry, just... enjoying the weather." The lie was awkward but Seamus hoped Katie didn't notice.
Clearly, she saw right through him, though he wasn't sure she could read what exactly he was thinking. "Well I was just about to head back up to the common room, d'you want to walk with me?"
"Sure." He stood and they began to walk. After a moment or two of heavy silence, Seamus spoke up again. "Um, Katie. This is awkward but I was wondering if you might want to go with me to the next Hogsmeade weekend."
She looked over at him, studying him for a long time without responding. He shifted.
"No."
He just stared back at her, his cheeks starting to heat.
"You're hot Seamus, sure, and I know I'm hot, but you're not interested in me."
"What? Of course I am! You're beautiful and you have nice tits and..." He trailed off, looking at the ground. "I'm sorry, I can't do this."
"Exactly. I can't be a distraction for you." Katie looked up the hill to where Dean and Ginny had reached the castle. "How long have you liked Thomas?"
Seamus looked up sharply. "What?"
Katie just rolled her eyes. "I don't know you very well, Seamus, but I can tell. You've fallen hard for Dean."
A moment of silence and Seamus sighed heavily. "So what if I have. There's nothing I can do about it."
"I'd say not asking girls out when you know you're gay would be a pretty good start."
"Noted." He glanced up at her.
"And for what it's worth, Dean and Ginny aren't going to last. You'll have your chance with him soon enough."
A foreign glimmer of hope rose in Seamus' chest. "What makes you say that?"
"I've seen Ginny at practice, she's worse off than you, pining for Harry. She'll never be happy with anyone else. That and Dean treats her too much like a lady, that's not the kind of person she needs."
"I wouldn't mind being treated like a lady." A soft grin rose on his face.
"Just give it time."

Everything Comes Around
“Excuse me?” Ginny raised her eyebrow.
“It’s too late to do anything about it now, mum.” Lily Potter rolled her eyes.
“Let’s get one thing straight. It’s your body, I don’t care what you do, I’m just tired of your attitude.”
“Sorry, I’m just tired of you controlling everything.”
“Please, Lil. You know as well as I do that your father and I are not strict parents. Look at some of your aunts and uncles compared to us.” Ginny sighed. "How did you even get there?"
"Lucy took me." She responded matter of factly.
Ginny sighed again. She's have to talk to her brother about keeping better tabs on his daughters. "Fine. Are you at least going to let me see it?”
Lily smiled slightly and pulled up her shirt, showing her mother her side. The tattoo was a delicate Lily stretching from her bra line to her waist.
“Oh, Lils. It’s beautiful.”
“What’s going on?” Harry walked into the kitchen.
Lily tried to push her shirt down quickly. Harry saw, however. “What’s that?”
The young girl realized it was too late to get out. She figured she should just be confident in it. “It’s a tattoo.” She left her shirt covering it.
“Is it of me?” Lily bit back a giggle while her father kissed her mother as a greeting.
“No, but it’s inspired by you,” the teen quipped.
“How so?” He seemed caught off guard by this response.
“It’s the same one you got when you were my age, don’t you remember?”
Harry looked between his wife and his daughter, looking for an answer. “I didn’t get a tattoo while I was in Hogwarts, did I?”
“Sure you did,” Lily responded, eyes full of mirth. “Mine’s of a Hungarian Horntail, if that helps jog your memory.” She exchanged glances with her mother.
It took Harry a moment, but then his eyes widened and he turned to his wife. “You did not…” Ginny nodded shamelessly and laughed at her husband with her daughter. “How could you, Gin?” He was clearly not upset about it, but slightly embarrassed.
“How could I not? You were mortified about that rumor for weeks. I had to share it with Lily.” Ginny moved behind her daughter in case her husband tried anything, still laughing.
“I don’t know why you’re embarrassed dad, it makes you cooler.” Lily examined her nails matter-of-factly.
“I’m sure it would.” He sighed. “As long as your brothers don’t find out I won’t punish you two too severely for this teasing,” Harry joked.
“Whoops…” Lily bit her lip.
“They already know, don’t they.” Harry nodded as though resigned.
“Them and the rest of the cousins.” Lily’s father raised his eyebrows. “What? It’s funny. I had to.”
“Ugh. Just for that, Ginny’s making dinner. Emphasis on making. No takeout. I think that’s enough punishment for all of you.” He chuckled as Lily groaned and Ginny made a reproachful noise. “And I’m going to Grandma Molly’s for dinner.” He smirked and left the kitchen, leaving the two girls scowling behind him, barely hiding their grins. It was worth it.

obsessed with powerful Ginny that’s all.
Office Meetings (Ginny Weasley x Harry Potter)
‘Auror Potter, it was you who wanted to talk with me.’ Ginny Weasley cocks one of her eyebrows as she looks at the auror in front of her. ‘You want to tell me what’s going on?’
Her hand is on her hip as she leans against the doorframe of his office. She knew what this was about, but wasn’t going to play into his hand. She was going to play it hard, make him suffer.
‘It’s about the article in the Daily Prophet,’ Harry says, swallowing hard as he watches Ginny close the door before walking to his desk. ‘The one about the Auror department-’
‘What about it?’ Ginny places both of her hands on the desk right in front of Harry, her eyes challenging and she can feel the tension growing more and more as his eyes flash to the cleavage that she’s showing - making her feel triumphant.
‘I can’t-’ Harry swallows again as he looks back up, his eyes resting on her lips now. ‘That article wasn’t- It was-’
‘Cat got your tongue?’ Ginny walks around the desk, sitting down on it as she uses her foot to spin his chair toward her. She leans in, her lips touching his ear lightly. ‘Be very careful with what you’re going to say next, mister Potter. You wouldn’t want the world to know that you’re fucking the head of publication from the Daily Prophet now would you?’
She leans back a little, her eyes finding his again. ‘Imagine the headlines. Imagine all those eyes following you through the office when they find out.’ She catches him looking down at her lips again as a smirk paints them. Her hand is running up his trousers, stopping them before they reach his crotch. ‘Please do tell me what you actually called me here for, mister Potter.
‘I’m afraid I can no longer stay professional.’ It’s hardly a whisper as he can feel his crotch throbbing in his trousers. Ginny’s hand dangerously close to them. All he can think about is her and wanting to have her on his desk as he takes her right there and then. He reaches for his wand, enchanting the door to be locked.
‘That’s more like it,’ Ginny says as her hands undo the zipper of his trousers. ‘Now be a good boy and be quiet, you wouldn’t want them to hear you scream out my name.'

favorite hinny headcannons
harry shaved his legs one time on a bet... ginny taught him how.
hinny's wedding song - shut up and dance with me - much to mrs weasley's dismay and the amusement of her brothers.
ginny can't cook to save her life.
harry loved playing with ginny's hair so much he learned to braid and does her hair before every quidditch game - when he found out she was pregnant with a girl, he practiced every hairstyle his little girl could possibly want on his wife.
ginny HATES cuddling on nights she has late practices but harry loves it... he often ends up on the couch because of it.
harry insists they both learn to drive - long family drives become a regular activity in the potter household.
they ALWAYS kiss each other goodnight... even when they're mad at each other.
ginny only agreed to name al after snape because she knew how much he would hate having a potter named after him.
both harry and ginny are bi with a preference for women.
