That It's a very interesting concept. When you break it down they would be one of the weaker teams. Ruby is a prodigy, but she has a lot of flaws in her close combat abilities and Jaune wouldn't have the invincible girl to train him, which would put his combat abilities even further behind than it was in the original. Meaning they would have to fight even smarter as a team to make up for their defects

Random Thought on RNJR

You know, thiniking about the members of team JNPR, Pyrrha is really the only "cool" one. At least to their classmates I mean.

Jaune is basically the worst student in the school.

Ren and Nora are a pair of orphans who kind of just hang out with each other.

Pyrrha is the only one that keeps JNPR from being kind of a loser team, you know?

So, if you do RNJR instead, with Ruby and her social awkward self, it really easy to see RNJR kind of being treated like a joke team. With whatever Pyrrha's team would be called being kind of the popular team if that makes sense.

Kind of makes me think you could do much more of an underdog story with a Beacon era team RNJR. I think I might try to flesh out this idea a little more in my head, but I think it's a cool idea.

There's definitely an interesting potential plotline with Ruby feeling like she's kind of in Yang's shadow, just like her team is in Yang's team shadow.
