I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner. Little Richard is on the record player. It's a hot summer night and my wife is wearing pale blue denim shorts and a green bikini top. My wife is dancing in the living room and I'm cooking dinner and it's summer, it's green, and it's perfect. The apartment is warm and smells of food. The cats are getting along. Sorrow has no place here.

Low energy land spirit work
Please note that I would recommend properly greeting land spirits before talking to them, or making offerings to them. If you're intrested in reading about my thoughts and experiences with land spirits, give this previous post a look!
Open the window and let the outside air in. If your window is equipped with a screen against bugs, you can place a drink at the window for a few hours to serve as an offering
Taking a walk around the block, spotting the nearby trees, gardens, flowerbeds, rock formations...
Journal about your personal relationship with local natural spots, indigenous plants, wildlife...
Become interested in local birds! Birds are among the most common types of wildlife to be observed in urban areas, which makes it all the more relevant to do so. Setting up birdhouses also makes for a great offering!
Limit the amount of processed foods in your diet
Read up on plant identification in your area
Engage in artistic activities in order to depict nature! It might seem silly, but it's a good visualization exercise, and any time spent meditating upon the land spirits may be considered devotional. Drawing, painting, writing... no matter your activity of choice!
Reflect on what local issues might affect them, especially concerning environmental protection
Leave a bowl of clear water outside as an offering
Do your part to respect nature: composting, recycling, saving water and the like make perfect devotionals
Talk to them regularly, if only once a week. Spend a moment outside to tell them of your appreciation for their presence and protection
Use natural elements to decorate the house: get flowers when available, pick up the acorns or fallen leaves that strike your fancy...

Back on that Ovate shit 🌱✨️
But honestly, it feels so good to be back at the greenhouse. Nothing draws me closer to my craft, to the gods, and to the earth more than having my hands in the dirt, giving life to green things. I want to devote myself to more of the goddesses this year, and revive my relationships with those gods whom I may have neglected in the shadow of my recent wedding. But in light of the love and the wonderful marriage I have been given, I feel every reason to jubilate this Beltane, and thank Lady Aphrodite and Lady Hera for their blessings. This year, the fat from my fires shall be theirs, and may its scent please them.
All blessings this beautiful spring. Sorry for the inactivity. 🔮✨️

MBTI Types Interacting With the Supernatural:
INFP: *to a Gentleman of the Crossroads* Do you want, like, a wife?
ENFP: *tries to take a selfie with the unicorn they found* #fortheGram
INTP: *Thought they were chasing aliens, reappears 300 years later* 'Sup.
ENTP: I broke literally every rule about interacting with the fae, but now they owe me three wishes! Don't ask me how I do it. (Blackmail. It was blackmail.)
INFJ: DO NOT STEP INTO THE FAIRY RING YOU IDIOT
ENFJ: Look, I didn't choose to fight supernatural beings for little thanks and no pay, but everyone else was busy and I didn't want to bother them with it! *stabs vampire with a wooden stake*
INTJ: The indigenous peoples here have worshipped this being for 4,000 years. You're being disrespectful. This is the last time I bring you to a sacred site.
ENTJ: The guy I THOUGHT was my friend tried to sacrifice me to an Ancient deity. We all see how well that went. *eyes flaming*
ISFP: Apparently there's a prophecy that says I'm destined to save this magical parallel universe? Sounds legit.
ESFP: *Accepts a drink from a hot fae across the bar. Now owes said fae their first born child. Tries to have said first born child WITH the fae*
ISTP: *raises axe to cut down tree* You know what? Nah. *subconsciously spares a tree spirit*
ESTP: So, you're a demon? Dope. Hey, if I trap you in this beer bottle, do you have to do what I say?
ISFJ: All I did was accept a butterscotch from a nice old lady and now this is starting to feel like an emergency!
ESFJ: Give me back my son right now! No, you cannot have the changeling back, I have fed, clothed, and loved him for twelve years, now you think you can just come and take him? Timmy honey, put the matches down, dear! See? Perfectly well adjusted.
ISTJ: There are no such things as ghosts!!!!! *gets straight up attacked by the spirit they offended*
ESTJ: *organizes a trade union for the shoe-making elves*

It's been a while since I've done a reflective Tarot reading just for myself. I've done so many lately for friends, for answers, or for how my day might play out. But it's been far too long since I've really sat with my cards and listened to what they have to tell me. I find it's these moments where we truly need this reflection the most - and we often feel we can't have it. Whether that be due to a sense of needing to keep up productively, or a feeling of obligation to the things around us about which we care. Whatever the reason, make sure to take your time and reflect as the seasons of shadow creep upon us. This time has always been my best season for introspective work. As the world embraces her shadows, so must we.
Here is my reading, followed by my interpretation:

Overarching: The Chariot
Past: Eight of Wands (Reversed)
Present: The High Priestess
Future: Four of Swords (Reversed)
Underlying: The Hierophant (Reversed)
This was one of those moments where a reading really surprises me, and takes me off my guard. All sense of skepticism just seems to leave my body when I get such insight like this, such a consistent theme across all my cards, right down to my past and shadow cards being reversed. I was so excited to unpack this.
The Eight of Wands reminds me it's time to leave my fight or flight instinct in the past where it belongs. The scarcity and lack of love is over for me now, and being let down in small ways is not a herald of their return.
The Priestess is telling me it was about time for this reflection, and I need to see to it that I get more of it in the future. I need to get back in touch with myself, my needs and instincts.
The Four of Swords signals a time for rest, which I haven't been taking enough of. I have a lot of unsorted feelings and they're causing the blockages the Priestess warns of.
Overall, I need to be clear about what exactly I want. The Chariot reminds me of a need for balance and control, one of which I've been neglecting and the other I've forgotten I deserve. In the end it's my life, and my victory, that I need to set my sights on.
The Hierophant warns me once again of my stubbornness, and being so stuck in my beliefs that I'm neglecting my own growth. Following the rules and not my intuition may lead me astray in some situations.
Thanks for sitting with me for a while. 💕✨️

Blessed Mabon, everyone! What are your plans? I'll be attending a (secular) local festival that happens to coincide, and meeting my friends vending, performing, and attending there, and I think I'll make a pumpkin pie. What about you? What rituals are you doing? What meals are you making? What loved ones will be met as we welcome the autumn season? Let me know how you'll celebrate! (I'm so excited for fall it's making me giddy)

Update: I took in the railroad spikes as well as some more introductory witchcraft books and vintage jewelry. I got $45 in store credit and spent some of it on this gorgeous new tarot case!

Story time: So I ran some errands over the weekend - the fun ones (plant shop for some orchid bark, and checking out some new shops that popped up recently) and I stumbled into this little metaphysical shop. The owner knew a lot of local artists I know, sold some of their merchandise as well, so we got talking.
Apparently, her shop is unique in that most of what she sells is secondhand, thoroughly cleansed, and she told me that if I had anything witchy to sell I could get a little bit of store credit, and that just about anything was welcome.
So, I noticed she was selling railroad spikes (very useful for protection, according to Hoodoo and other folk traditions), and since I live next to a long stretch of abandoned railroad tracks, I spent the evening gathering as many as I could find, which turned out to be about ten in all.
And that's how I came home to my husband, with a paper bag full of dirt, another full of bags of herbs and trinkets, and a tote bag laden with rusty railroad spikes for the shopkeep. Will update as to whether I get store credit for them!

See how I buy my witchcraft supplies secondhand? Very mindful, very demure.
I'm not like the SHEIN advertisers want me to be, I don't buy 500 new journals for every subject.
See how I use the decor I already have to freshen up my altar? Very cutesy. Very classic. 💕
