Personal Tea Leaf Reading (July 8 2024)

Hello all, oh boy do i have a little tea reading for us!! I drank earl gray tea, with the question of, what's upcoming (this week)? we got, two people chasing each other playfully, with a puppy dog next to them, at the top of the rim close to the handle. Company is imminent with joy and fun. The dog emphasizes this. Next, close to the handle to the bottom of the cup, is a shoe. watch my step, or go dancing. :P going clockwise, next we have a flock of birds (ravens? crows?) at the bottom of the cup. This represents the need to find purpose in life, and maybe I'm seeking stability. One of the birds has an arrow in its mouth, and is pointing in the direction of the far side of the cup (away from the handle) and ascending from the bottom of the cup to the rim. The flock of birds are traveling in a line, and it also looks like a pathway of stepping stone, so I'm interpreting this as there's a message incoming (not sure if it's good news or bad news, probably neutral based on the signs), that I'll get to know later. the steps and rising birds also represent growth and overcoming hurdles in life, rising to the top. so I have that to look forward to. and lastly in the leaves is a lighthouse. this shape was really hard to figure out WTF it was, but eventually i realized it looks like a buoy, a lighthouse, and a boat all at once. These three symbols are all water and navigation based, which I'm interpreting as an emotionally disturbing time is coming up, and to 1. watch the direction i take 2. be wary of dangers, and 3. know that hope is not lost amongst the trouble. Upsetting a Deity (You Probably Haven't!)

Upsetting a Deity A lot goes around about upsetting a deity, but the chances are you haven’t! Deities won’t be upset about little mistakes or being unable to pray because you’re having a flare-up. They understand and they care. Most likely, they would want you to be well and safe. It would take a LOT for a deity to be upset in a significant way.

Upsetting a Deity example In Hellenism, you must be clean before offering or communicating with a deity. We should all research thoroughly, but sometimes things are missed, so not washing your hands before offering food may not be looked upon favourably. However, you can learn from this and embed it into future practice. Apologise for the mistake and move on, dwelling will only make things harder for you and your relationship with the deity.

What if I didn’t give them an offering today? That’s okay. Give your deity an offering when you next can. You don’t have to give offerings daily, or on any set timescale. If you can’t do offerings at all, that’s fine too. There is no must for offerings!

What if I just realised my old actions were disrespectful? Then you’re learning and that’s great. Let’s remember that deities aren’t human, their stances wouldn’t be like ours. Apologise for your past mistakes and move forward. If you’d like to build a relationship with that deity, begin doing so with your new found knowledge on being as respectful as you can be.

But I made a promise that I couldn’t fulfil? Try avoiding making promises you can’t keep, especially specific promises. Try making a loose promise, so rather than a set time for a specific offering, promise to do it when you next get the chance. Deities understand that things change. As long as you intend to fulfil your promise at the time you make it, they know your intention was there. If it didn’t happen, do it when you next can.

But I feel bad anyway, how can I fix things? If you feel bad or would just like to do something to make it up to the deity, do what you would normally do. Apologise, honour them, provide an offering, and share how you have learnt from the experience. A small mistake or getting something wrong will not have an everlasting impact on you.

The deity isn’t responding properly to me anymore! Are you communicating with a clear mind? Your emotions and mindset impact how you communicate and may be overriding the responses or even how you interpret them. Take a break, realise you can apologise and move on, and relax. When you’re in a calmer mindset, try again.

What if they don’t want me to worship/work with them anymore? How do you know this? Deities are deities, they want to be worshipped. I can assure you, the chances are you haven’t done anything bad enough to where a deity no longer wants you to worship/work with them. Like before, take a break, apologise, relax, and move on. Communicate about topics when you’re in the right mindset to do so.

So I can do anything and the deities won’t be upset? No. Like before, deities are deities. They are divine. They see your intentions, they know when you’re being truthful, respectful, and honest. Don’t try to fool them or purposefully disrespect them, you will not be granted their favour by doing this. Likewise, do try avoid making promises, oaths, and similar, that you know there’s a chance you might not be able to keep.

Items that Witches and Practitioners use for Divination

In this blog, we will be discussing the various kinds of items used in divination spells. There’s a large range of them, from tarot cards to dowsing rods, to even tasseaography (tea leaf readings) and we will be looking through and exploring a lot of them!

Tarot Cards: Tarot cards are used for divination. They are a deck of 78 cards and each card represents a value on the tree of life. A reading is made usually in a set of 3, with each card representing the past, present, and future. There are 21 arcana within the deck, and the rest are a set of Ace to Ten in Wands, Pentagrams, Cups, and Swords. The cards even have different meanings if they are drawn right side up or upside down and they are used as guidance for how to go about things to prepare for the future predicted by the cards.

Oracle Cards: Oracle cards are like the kinder version of tarot cards. While the tarot give it to you straight, oracles tend to be more benign in their guidance towards the person being given a reading. In fact, each deck of oracle cards is different in its looks and has different meanings with different symbols. Readings for these cards are usually done in 3s, similar to tarot, but they can also be done with a single card to give guidance on a specific problem occurring in your life.

Pendulum: This is a method of seeking answers and guidance by interpreting the movements of a pendulum, often used to answer questions or make decisions. The pendulum works by tapping into the sixth sense and acts as a form of receiver and transmitter, from the practitioner’s higher guidance, guardian angels, and spiritual teachers. As the pendulum moves, the practitioner gains answers in response to questions. A pendulum divination works best with “yes” or “no” questions.

Dowsing Rod: Also known as divining rods, they are tools used in a practice that aims to locate underground water, minerals, or other hidden objects. Some believe they can be used for divination or spiritual insights. Dowsing rods are usually used in attempts to locate ground water, buried metals, ores, gemstones, oil, claimed radiations, gravesites, malign “earth vibrations” and many other objects and materials without scientific guidance.

Crystal Scrying: Also known as crystal gazing, this type of divination involves gazing into a crystal ball or other reflective surface to seek visions, guidance, or insights into the future or hidden information. It can be done with the aid of a medium such as crystal ball in order to scry, gaze, or even through modern technology like a smartphone.

Water Scrying: Also referred to as hydromancy, this is a form of divination where practitioners gaze into a bowl of water, or a large body of water, to seek visions or insights into the future or present. There’s a similar technique that is also used with pyromancy, in which practitioners gaze deep into the flame of a candle wick and do similar methods as used in hydromancy.

Automatic Writing: involves channeling messages or insights by allowing a pen, pencil, or writing object to move freely on paper, without conscious control, to potentially access the subconscious or spirit world.

Palmistry: Also known as chiromancy and palm reading, this involves interpreting the lines, marks, and bumps on a person’s palm to gain insights into their character, fortunes, and potential future events.

Numerology: The study of supposed relationship between numbers and events, based on the idea that numbers have a vibrational frequency and can provide insights into a person’s character, destiny, and life path. It’s the belief in an occult, divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. Another name that numbers in numerology call themselves is “Angel Numbers”. Think number sequences like 333 or 111.

Tasseography (Tea Leaf Reading): A divination or fortune-telling method that interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee grounds, or wine sediments. This divination has Arabic origins, the word “tasse” or “Tass” meaning small cup or goblet. Certain symbols made by tea leaves, coffee grounds, and wine sediments would mean certain things or predict future events.

These are just some of the unique ways in which practitioners, witches, and warlocks divine and ask questions about uncertain situations. There’s some notable movies in which some of these techniques of divination are used, such as Coraline (Henry Selick, 2009). In the movie, Coraline is seen using a dowsing rod made out of poison ivy to locate an old well. Later in the movie, Coraline meets Miss Spink and Forcible, who give her a tea leaf reading to guide her as she continues to explore the Other World.

pendula: metal (this was a gift and i don't know what it's made of; brass maybe? gold in color.), howlite, glass beads with sea turtle scene

crystal chips: red jasper, various quartz, flourite, lapis lazuli, lace agate, tigers eye, sunstone, sodalite, bismuth. all stones can be thrown, or you/i can choose 5-10 specific stones that resonate with your query.

my kitty cat, nachtus:

nacht came into my life through my current girlfriend, who has had him since he was born. every time she went into the room with his litter, he scrambled up her pant leg like he knew she would be his favorite person. he's about 2 years old now, and loves cuddles, belly rubs, q-tips, waking up our boyfriend in the middle of the night, bothering people while they're gaming, and sitting on my gf's shoulder like a parrot.

my puppy dog, misha:

misha came into my life through my current boyfriend, who has had him since he was a puppy. he was a rescue, along with his brother oakley, who went with my boyfriend's sister. misha is a chug (chihuahua-pug mix) and is estimated to be around 8 years old. he loves cuddles, being swaddled in blankets, barking at strangers, lying on the softest pillows he can find, and zoomies!

Tasseomancy examples

Here are some examples of images I’ve seen when reading tea leaves, and how I interpreted them.

A large hen, huddled up and brooding (not laying eggs). Then later, a large hen with its head perked up. – There will be/needs to be a period of rest and inactivity, before you will have the energy to resume your ventures.

A bee visiting a very long, elongated flower. – Certain flowers require bees to have specialised proboscis in order to reach the nectar (the biologist in me is coming through). Hence, this reading means that the nectar/reward is there, if one has the means to reach it.

A scarecrow, and a bouquet of flowers. – Investing in someone who doesn’t appreciate you. Metaphorically, giving a scarecrow a bouquet of flowers.

A mermaid – An instruction to work with water spirits, or to make use of magical waters and inks (which came up when asking how to craft sigils).

A bow, but with no arrow nocked – An instruction to do preparatory work for a project, but not to take any actions yet.

A witch, or, a person and a pointed hat as two consecutive visions – A representative of willpower in its embodied form; mundanely, it means the determination to see one’s goals realised. In occult terms, it’s an instruction to use magical methods.

A cow, especially one with horns – A lunar symbol, representing one’s mother, or any emotions relating to mother figures. It also indicates any work that requires steady, repeated effort over a long period.
