Good deeds the pastas do

A/n: inspired by @milkycarnations post :) most are a "living together" type of good deeds bc I assume they're kinda of hermits because of the nature of their "job"

🪷 Eyeless Jack homeschool the child pastas, the pastas that are in highschool and the ones who didn't conclude the basic education level on the "right time" (idk how to explain it better). He might be a bit rusty with English and history but other than that he's the perfect teacher. His patience is not usually that high but when he's teaching he turns into a saint.

🪷 Jane will clean people's clothes without them asking, she'll even patch them if there's holes. She also makes people new clothes when she gets her hands on fabric, usually they're practical and simple (something like gym clothes, easy to run with) but super well made

🪷 Hoodie will take pictures of whoever asks him, and he'll go above and beyond for them. Think throwing himself on the ground to get a good shot, huge lights, all that. Heck he'll even make a physical photo album with edited photos if it's a person that he's able to communicate more often than just a stranger asking him for a favor.

🪷 Toby will return shopping carts that he encounter scattered around parking lots, and if they see a person not returning them he'll put the cart behind their car so they'll have to keep getting out of the car to push it way. He'll do it until the person loses their patience and return it. He'll also make sure that the person doesn't see that it's him putting the cart behind the car so the person has no idea why it's happening

🪷 Laughing Jack will put people's favorite candy and snacks in their rooms if he notices that they're feeling under the weather, sick or anything like that. He'll deny it but he does it pretty often. Also makes an effort to know the top 5 snacks because he knows that someone's favorite can be hard to come by.

🪷 Masky will fix people cars if he notices that's something wrong with it. Scratches? No problem he knows how to fix, sometimes even if there's no paint. Bumps? Fixed. Need to change the oil? No you don't, he already took care of it last week. He also checked the antifreeze, the water and the gas. If he's with the energy he'll clean it too.

🪷 Cody will make sure that there's no cross contamination in the food you consume if you have any allergies, both inside and when you go out to eat. Someone is cooking shrimp and you're allergic to shellfish? He's making that person disinfect every corner of the kitchen. Going out to eat? He'll make sure the cooks make your food correctly, if you have Celiac disease or something like that that's "harder to see" he'll order the same food as you to make sure they were prepared differently (like he'll order the same burger as you to look if it's made with different bread). Also he always has at least 2 EpiPen in his pockets.

🪷 BEN will always play with you when you ask him. Even let you win if he knows you're feeling bad that day. Videogames? Deal. Board games/card games? He's making at least 2 other people play with you too to make it more interesting. Children games like house? Hell yeah. Just not ask him to run around that much, like when playing tag or something, he will do it but he also will complain a lot about it.

🪷 Jeff will always speak for you in public places if you can't do it yourself. He'll also complain for you. Need to order something in a restaurant? He got it. Your burger came with pickles when you ask for no pickles? Bet he's already on the counter asking to switch the order. Your AACC device is out of battery? Write down what you want to say and he'll do it no hesitation.

🪷 Nina will always do your makeup, hair and nails. Her room is basically a saloon for when y'all go out and is super fun! Loud music blasting, chatter, dancing all that! She'll even make an effort to learn other alt makeup (she already knows emo/scene) if you're in some alternative subculture. Gyaru? She's getting those huge press on nails and fake tan. Goth? She already has white foundation and black lipstick. She'll spend a good amount of time learning techniques that she knows you like to use just to guarantee that you're feeling 100% hot.

Okay so like I'm trying to do more research on some creepypasta's I don't know a lot about currently in the process of doing that And one of those characters is X-virus but I really love the idea of Toby, just kind of finding him hiding in the forest at first and he just brings him back and walks into the Mansion with the energy of like "Look what I brought home :D" Slenderman would not be too pleased. Slenderman would just be sitting there like "what the fuck are you doing???? I didn't tell you to abduct this one" And Toby would reply with "can we keep him please???🥺" and X-Virus is just sitting there like "bitch I'm a human being tf you mean CaN wE kEeP HiM I'm not your fuckin dog but yes I would like a place to stay for a bit so I can hide from the cops that would be nice"

Okay so like I have THOUGHTS on Jay Merrick as a character. Like none of them are bad (completely) but I just need to emphasize that these feelings I have about him are very strongly held opinion and have been formed over the last about 3 years. To be honest when I see something I disagree with I just calmly move on and don't engage. 

Okay so there are 4 posts that summarize my entire opinion on this man and I am going to link them and After I add the links I'm going to do what I do best and ramble. 

Now for the ramble:

Start off with the important one Jay is not this innocent cinnamon roll who has done nothing wrong ever in his life. He is not pure and passive guy that everyone tends to portray him as. 

Jay has done many questionable things throughout the entire series. He has broken into Alex's apartment, he lied to several people on several occasions, he stalked several people, he posted Tim's medical records online, he has trespassed on several properties, ect. He has committed crimes and done questionable things. 

Despite the questionable things he's done, I still think Jay is overall a decent person. A great person? No, not really. He's morally gray. Like some positive aspects about Jay he is a sympathetic person and avoidant of violence. Like dude literally tried talking down a guy who was holding him at gun point. When Tim punched him in the parking lot he just took it didn't fight back. When Tim opens up to him about his past he comforts him.

He's not conflict avoidant by any means but he's not violent either. He is not at all innocent but he is also not a terrible person is my point I guess because like everyone in this series has at least done something questionable I feel.

Jay has sass and I love that he bites back. I also feel portraying him as awkward is accurate though cuz he is I mean look at his conversations and interviews with Tim and Jessica. He is awkward and a terrible liar. Like the sass and the awkwardness don't really contradict. I would love to see a portrayal that strikes this balance because I know so many people who are extremely sassy but also can't hold a social interaction for the life of them.

Jay is also a dumbass but I don't think anyone is arguing for his smarts I just can't make a post about Jay withour bullying him because it's funny. 

Honestly people can portray a character however the fuck they want tbh I just wanted to rant about my views on the characters because character analysis is my bread and butter.

So I'm in choir and I'm kind of a music nerd sooo. Headcanons for Marble Hornets Characters voice parts. But first!!! A not so little explanation of vocal parts (please this information is necessary for people who are not into  music theory)

Voice Parts (basics)

Women's singing parts:

Soprano: higher female vocal range. 

Alto: Lower female vocal range

Men's singing parts:

Tenor: highest male vocal range. 

Baritone: Medium male vocal range, Also used to generally describe the men's part in some music. 

Bass: lowest male vocal range.

Now to understand my headcanons Voice Parts but slightly more complicated. Important info going in each part typically has a subdivisions of two consisting of the higher and lower ranges of those specific parts. baritone is not included due to (in my experience) being used to describe just the general men's part in less complicated music 

Women's singing parts

Soprano 1: Higher Soprano part

Soprano 2: Lower Soprano part

Alto 1: Higher Alto Part

Alto 2: Lower Alto Part

Men's singing parts

Tenor 1: Higher tenor part

Tenor 2: Lower tenor part

Bass 1: Higher bass part

Bass 2: Lower bass part

So now that I hopefully explained it good enough Voice part head canons!! Just so you know I am not at all a professional or vocal coach these Head Canons are purely for fun 

Jay: Tenor 2 

he sounds like he would have a higher singing voice but he wouldn't be hitting all those high notes 

Alex: Bass 1

he doesn't sound like his voice would be extremely deep but he does seem like he would have a deep singing voice 

Brian: Tenor 1

 Let's be real he could hit those high notes plus in all my experience tenors tend to be a bit dramatic in the fun way though and you can not tell me he isn't at least a little dramatic quoted example "My hair always looks good that's why I'm the star." - Brian Thomas

Tim: All the mens vocal parts 

Tim's the music guy he would probably have a lot of vocal diversity he could hit those high notes let's be real and he has the sass to match the energy of a Tenor 

Seth: Baritone 

Seth isn't a Tenor but he isn't Bass I would like to think he is in that middle range he doesn't show up a lot so I couldn't guess based off his voice or personality 

Jessica: Soprano 1 

Her voice is pretty high pitch to be honest so I would say she's a Soprano 1 she isn't a diva like a Soprano but she does have that drive to she has the Soprano spirit

Sarah: Soprano 2 

She had a slightly lower voice but she had that sass she absolutely has soprano energy

Amy: Alto 2

From the one recording we had of her she had a lower voice so I put her as an Alto 2 because of that

Taylor: Alto 1

She feels like she would be an Alto she's able to harmonize with her gf hehe

Adam: Tenor 1

He's a drama queen he's definitely a Tenor

David: Bass 2

He looks like he has a deep voice tbh

Skully: All the singing parts

because he is the carrier people he has many faces 

Slenderman: Autotune

he can't sing lmao he's an Eldritch horror creature

Okay so Marble Hornets Headcanon you know how a lot of people portray Jay as this awkward soft boy who is an extreme pushover? (Slight exaggeration but I did it to get the point across). I find it funny that's how Tim and Brian viewed him like this (taking out the weird almost infantilization of a grown man aspect out of it) when filming the student film. Then years later when Jay started posting and they actually had more time to watch his actions/interact with him do they realized... OH HOW WRONG THEY WERE.

They soon realize Jay is kind of a fucking menace. Like He's a little sassy, he breaks into random fucking abandoned buildings, he commits crimes, he'll your medical records online, ect. The only thing that I got right was that he was awkward. This realization hits the hardest for Tim most likely. But it's also funny to imagine Brian's reaction of "oh... Damn okay he just like he fr" *proceeds to break into another house"

To be honest I feel like the only one who had awareness of the fact that Jay was like this was Alex. Not to the extent he would assume Jay would break into his fucking house. But would know he has a bit of an edge to him despite being an awkward dumbass.

New Perspective by Panic! At The Disco fits Marble Hornets specifically TTA and Brian as characters and I also see no one addressing it or including it in MH playlists and I am completely normal and completely sane so I have an in-depth explanation on how I think certain lyrics fit to certain things In Marble Hornets so here is my shitty broken up analysis on it. I skipped repeats in analyzing every line of the song to try and fit in and I only picked the ones that I had some evidence/headcanons for or I thought tied back enough in a funny way

"I feel the salty waves come in

I feel them crash against my skin"

TTA has major associations with water

"And I smile as I respire

Because I know they'll never win"

"Wipe that stupid smile off your face!" -Alex Kralie

"There's a haze above my TV

That changes everything I see"

Can't remember what video but TTA used a TV is some of their entries

"And maybe if I continue watching

I'll lose the traits that worry me"

TTA assocation with eyes and watching

“Stop there, and let me correct it

I wanna live a life from a new perspective”

Seeing things or events of what occurred in Marble Hornets in a different lense

"You come along because I love your face"

I love your face could be referenced to the masks they wear it could also be interpreted through the perspective of Brian saying this affectionately to Tim referring to when Tim where's the mask

“And I'll admire your expensive taste”

Spending so much on tapes is a lot of money sooo

“And who cares? Divine intervention” This could be referring to when Alex is saved by the Operator 

"But leaving now would be a good idea

So catch me up on getting out of here"

This could be related to how often Hoody runs from Jay or Alex or Tim being distant when helping out to the Ark or Jay and then eventually just leaving due not remembering (pulling from a Night Minds interpretation as it feels like it makes sense that the operator would just erase people's memories so Alex wouldn't have more people after him) 

"We move along with some new passion

Knowing everything is fine (everything is fine)" 

"Everything is fine" being the Final quote of the series or the other one "Everything is normal, everything is fine, I worry about nothing, because nothing is on my mind" 

“And I would wait and watch the hours”

Imagine how many hours TTA spent watching everyone's everymove that's what this line could relate to they could wait and watch for as long as it takes to take down Alex

“Fall in a hundred separate lines”

Brian died by falling and it probably plays on repeat to him mentally as he travels in mind

“But I regain repose

And wonder how I ended up inside (up inside)"

Wonder how Brian ended up inside the Ark (reference to comic)

"More to the point, I need to show

How much I can come and go

Okay so I have two interpretations of this line when putting it in the context of me relating it to Marble Hornets in some way So interpretation 1: Brian's guilt he feels for all the help and warnings he made we're in vain and this is his feelings towards mostly Tim and possibly Jay Or interpretation two this is from the perspective of the third member of TTA (haha like new perspective get it because I'm so funny and you're to late into this poorly written lyrical analysis to back out now) anyways in the Entry Isolation Brian/Hoody asks "where is he? And with eyeballs accompanying it The eyes are something that tend to be associated with the third member (I'm taking this from Night Minds video yes)

"There's no more that need be said

When I'm inching through your bed

Take a look around instead and watch me go"

Idk watching people sleep is something that they tend to do a lot sooooo

"It's not fair, just let me perfect it

Don't wanna live a life that is comprehensive"

It's been so long that being comprehensive or having a clear consistent existence is no longer a viable option for most people who are involved in general to be honest

Hey, so I was scouring Tumblr for headcanons on the music taste Marble Hornets and Creepypasta characters. So this leads me to generally ask what others' opinions are on this in general beyond the few posts I was able to find.

So this leads me to ask what bands do you think the character of Marble Hornets and or Creepypasta would listen to?

Comment your answers and once the post gets enough comments I’ll make another post with a general music compilation and analysis of the character's music taste (I am a music genre nerd so I know way too much about genres and sub-genres).

For a better context of the characters I use regularly here is a list of the characters I know practically most of the Marble Hornets characters and work with them regularly but for creepypasta, I know a lot of them but don’t focus on a lot regularly so I’m just listing the one I know well

Is there a better site or place to ask? Yes. do I have access to that for various reasons? No.

First post and random rant but regardless I shall continue. Okay so I like I was thinking back on the progression of my ongoing Internet horror phase and how my relationship to it has changed over the years specifically the Creepypasta/Slenderverse aspect of it. Running down the timeline would be interesting in and of itself at least from my perspective but it would be way too lengthy so I'm just going to talk about one of my favorite tidbits on it. Specifically how I got into Marble Hornets.

So I guess the best place to start is by the point I even heard of Marble Hornets I had already been into Creepypasta for a bit at that point and I only was aware of the fanon versions of Hoody and Masky. Basically fanon versions in a nutshell are the quiet shy uwu soft boy who is best friends with the blue eyed cheesecake obsessed twink looking ass who is essentially Dwight Schrute but lame and they work for Slenderman willingly and they're totally loyal to him (this is not at all accurate fuck the fanon versions).

Basically one day when I was doing character research and checked the wikis for them it turns out they were from a series called Marble Hornets and Marble Hornets kept being referenced when I was consuming content. So eventually I stumbled upon a video compiling the full series and I watched the first few entries without any context to the story and then I immediately dipped out because I was too scared. I had a very low fear tolerance at the time hence the reason why I dipped out.

Essentially from then on I kept ignoring the existence of Marble Hornets until I would like to say 2 or 3 years later I started reading headcanons of characters and one of them was a mixture of Creepypasta and Marble Hornets this caused me to slowly incorporate stuff into my characters and universe is also an entire other rant that I'm not going into detail on. This is what caused me to learn of Jay's and Alex's existence as I really did not pay attention to the first few entries I watched of the series. Over time as I used characters from Marble Hornets without actually watching it. It became more and more apparent to me that I actually needed to eventually get into it.

I remembered how long it was from when I was a kid and I didn't want to spend 9 hours of my time on it so instead I looked up and explained the series and lo and behold I found Night Minds explained. So late one night I watched all of it and I was enthralled this was one of the best pieces of Internet horror that I have consumed to date. The story was cohesive, The characters were compelling, and The horror was good even while watching the summarized version I was able to be disturbed. but this is also how I realized two things how really different Masky/Tim and Hoody/Brian were from there fanon counterparts and I had been portraying them incredibly inaccurately this entire time and that Jay had been completely fucking ignored by anyone who was not watched Marble Hornets that was a shame because I love his character.

This revelation was huge for me at the time and this caused a giant hyperfixation on Marble Hornets. And it entirely shifted how I created my stories and how I had characters interact. It also introduced me to the existence of ARGs. Like I had watched videos on horror series before but I had never heard of an ARG up to this point so I was intrigued. That is an entire other can of worms so I will just stop it there and continue on talking about my experience with my Marble Hornets.

Regardless after that point I would introduce Marble Hornets whoever I could I used the Night Mind explained series to show people it rather than watching the actual series though I have to embarrassingly admit that I did not actually watch the entire series on the original channel. In fact I had not watched Marble Hornets in its full until recently.

For a long time while doing research on marble Hornets I had heard about news of follow-Ups such as Clear Lakes 44 which by this point is now canceled and I have not watched at all. About a year after this I heard about ECKVA as well, but I haven't bothered watching it because it was on pause and I don't want to get into something that I know is not going to have a continuation for a while if ever. But who knows, maybe I'll watch it eventually.

Soon after I heard about the comics I just couldn't find anywhere to read them. And there were three times I would do searches before I finally got my hands on the comics. My first search started with searching for comic dubs at the comics on YouTube but then I did not find any so I soon gave up and didn't revisit the search. The second time I tried I eventually found the comics actually existed through searches on Amazon but I wasn't able to find listings for the physical copies just copies through Amazon Kindle. It wasn't until the third time looking into this that I finally found the website and due to having the financial means to purchase the first comic I soon purchased it and waited for its arrival. By the time I had purchased the comics I had watched the summarized series from Night Mind on YouTube about three times. I read the comics over the course of a few months and had finally finished reading them around February of this year.

So very recently a few weeks ago I was showing another one of my friends Marble Hornets. I again used The Night Mind summarized series but slowly over the course of rewatching the series I had another realization. I owned all the comics, was incredibly into the series, and talked about it all the time but I had never watched the original in it's full which gave me a crisis and made me feel like a fake fan. So after I had that entire crisis a week later I finally bit the bullet and decided to watch the full series in its entirety for the first time.

I sat down and was preparing myself for a long 9-hour binge and expected it to be a lot to get through. It turned out not to be though I got through it over the course of a week. Watched season 1 in one day, Season 2 in about 2 days, and watched season 3 over the course of 4 days. Now I'm here. I can confidently say I have watched Marble hornets in its entirety. Honestly Night Mind was right. The best experience is watching it on your own and not using his as a substitute like I did. I was intimidated by how there were tweets to follow along with and codes but If you watch the series on YouTube with all the entries and To The Ark videos it's a pretty easy and comprehensible story to follow without the tweets.

So yeah that's my experience getting into Marble Hornets I have watched the series either five times or One time and four times on the abbreviated one. For anyone reading this thank you for taking interest in my shitty ramblings on the experience of how I got into Marble Hornets I hope this was interesting at the very least.

A lot of me watching Marble Hornets was also me doing research on how to accurately portray characters in like personal AU/Story I have on Creepypasta and Marble Hornets. I doubt anyone would want to hear about that but if people do I guess I might talk about it if there's enough interest. But I doubt this post will get any attention since it's Tumblr.
