Chant: Journey to the Underworld
“ Around, about, and throughout we go,
By serpent, by hare, by toad and crow,
To seek the things that are yet unknown
From high above, to down below.
By bee, by cat - we unite the pack;
Be our will and by our word,
We do the deed of six in one
By bestom, stang, and sword.
By night, by moon, and compass round,
By devil and by whore,
We do the deed of six in one
By besom, stang, and sword.
We hail to you, beyond the veil,
Majestic Queen and great Horned Lord;
We do the deed of six in one
By besom, stang, and sword.
By tooth and word, and blood and might,
For all that we adore,
We do the deed of six in one
By besom, stang, and sword.
For our furrow, for kin, for dead and gone,
We toil as we endure;
We do the deed of six in one
By besom, stang and sword.
They heed our word, the deal is done,
And all that we implore;
We do the deed of six in one
By besom, stang, and sword.
We’ve laid the ground, down all around
Our covenant is born;
We do the deed of six in one
By besom, stang, and sword. “

Witchcraft is not simply about magick; that is why there are sorcerers. Witchcraft is not just about herbs; that is why there are herbalists. Witchcraft is not only about divination or contacting spirits; that is why there are psychics and mediums. Witchcraft is something wholly, entirely different. It is a lifestyle, a vocation, a liminal space defined by experience. It is a virtual crossroads where several paths meet and create their own space by virtue of their intersection.
Besom, Stang, & Sword, by Christopher Orapello and Tara-Love Maguire.
