I said last night we should talk about tattooing runes and sigils on your body, so here it is; (Note, the reference pictures I’m using I found Pinterest and best visually describe what I’m trying to convey)

Tattooing in itself is an ancient ritual that dates back to indigenous people, my people have been telling stories on skin with ink for thousands of years. That being said when you get a tattoo you bleed, and your blood is a form of your life force, your energy, a signature not just of your energy but of your DNA. We tend to get tattoos of things we like or something that has meaning to us, however it started as a way to document warriors, spirits, deities, and of course magick, these markings were significant to each tribe and custom to the person wearing them. How does that translate now into tattooing sigils and runes of your body? Well I’m gonna tell ya,

Blood magic

Tattooing is a form of blood magic, which isn’t as scary as it sounds. It’s simply put a form of magic that is stronger because a part of your DNA is used. So if you were to tattoo say a protection rune or sigil on your body it would draw it’s power from you directly, we trace invisible sigils or runes on use when we need to use them so the same quote rule and quote would apply here. When you need the power of the sigil or rune you’d simply finger trace over the tattoo to activate it. As mentioned up top it would draw from your own energy so, depending on how powerful the sigil or rune is you May feel dizzy, or get a headache. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering getting them tattooed. You can always temporarily draw it on your skin and see how it vibes with you before you get it permanently.

Choosing an artist

You’ve decided to get a sigil/Rune tattoo, amazing now you need to pick an artist carefully. If you’re not tattooing yourself (which I don’t recommend unless you know what you’re doing) choosing an artist is highly important not just to find someone willing to do the design but because let’s be real some people’s energy is highly crusty. You absolutely DO NOT want someone with off vibes tattooing you, especially tattooing something as energy heavy and important as a Rune or sigil. I recommend checking out each tattoo shop and artist available and feeling out the vibe, LISTEN TO YOUR INTUITION!

Color magic

If you want you can use color magic when deciding what rune/sigil you wish to have tattooed. Say you really wanted a pink tattoo, you’d find a rune/sigil that corresponds with what energy pink brings. You don’t have to do this of course, you can choose any color, rune, sigil you want.

Note, the picture shows large runes tattooed all over the body, YOU DO NOT have to have runes/sigils tattooed all over your body, YOU DO NOT have to have them large. YOU CAN have them any size, any color, any location that you so wish. YOU CAN even incorporate them into your next tattoo piece, which would look rad in my opinion. Work with your tattoo artist to figure out what you like best.

Artemis Deity Guide

The Romans knew her as Diana, she is the goddess of the Moon, the hunt, the wildlife, as well as mothers and maidens.

Who is Artemis?

Most associated with the moon and wildlife, Artemis is also known to be a goddess who reigns over childbirth, as she helped deliver her own brother soon after she herself was born. She lends a hand in the cycles of nature and the wild creatures within it.

Unlike her more extroverted brother, Artemis prefers wildlife and nature rather than hanging out with other deities. That being said, she seems to have a soft spot for humans.

She is a virgin goddess, sworn to chastity of her own will.

Basics of Deity Communication Part 1

This is my introduction to different forms of Deity communication. In this post, I am merely glossing over briefly the different kinds and levels of Divine communication you can have and what you can do to start opening up a conversation with your Deity of choice. 

Please bear in mind that I am not sticking to any specific tradition, this is merely from years of experience and trial and error. I also do not adhere to most historically based evidence though you will more than likely find that there is attestation of how this was conducted in other ways. 

Who can do this?

It does not require a special sort of person to communicate with the Divine. In fact, all people, beings, plants, animals, and so on have a connection to the Divine at differing points in their psyche. Humans are the most evolved species when it comes to this sort of thing, but every animal that has a brain can know whether or not they are being communicated with by different sources, especially the Divine. 

That being said, no person is incapable of opening a direct line of correspondence with a Deity and no person is exempt from bearing witness to the Divine in their life. The Divine is not omnipresent, but rather, each and every human carries a piece of the Divine within themselves. This is because our nature as humans aligns with the Divine in a very succinct way. No human will ever be without this piece of themselves and no human will ever fall short of having this piece within them.

So maybe a year ish ago I found this horn at a thrift shop.

This past weekend I got the opportunity to go to paganicon for the first time. One of the main programs there was the sounds of the Iron age. This amazing person had instruments that were historically made to be similar to norwiegen and norse/Scandinavian of those times. She played them, sang songs, and told stories. Even sang a song of the sagas.

Some of those instruments were made from different goat horns and other animals. Now I believe this is a real horn except for the mouth piece. It is plastic and was made to fit on the end of the horn.

Anywho because of the event I had learned something new about my norwiegen heritage. I honestly don't know much about the different things of my heritages because I have many blood lines and there has been alot of disconnect in culture and community due to generational trauma.

However this weekend I had learned what this horn was and how it's used. It actually has many uses. A horn was sounded to give thanks to hosts of parties or events. A horn was sounded to give thanks to the guests of events. A horn was sounded to honor ancestors and spirits of the lands. A horn was a musical instrument that provided music at parties. It sometimes made the people dance! A horn was sounded to communicat the arrivals of guests. A horn was used to send prayers to the gods. A horn was sounded to call childeren back to the house.

Horns were used for so many things and it sounded like almost every villager had one for the uses they needed it for.

I am proud that I found this gem thrifting. I am so glad that I bought this now after learning about it. I now know how I can use it in my practices and connect with the gods and ancestors with it. It is a beautiful horn.

I was thinking of cleansing it, blessing it, and repainting the flowers on it and putting some runes on it to make it my own.

Things Pagan Content Creators don't show you

Hi, My name is Tony; I am a solitary Heathen/Pagan! There's tons of Pagan, Heathen, Witch, and Wiccan Content Creators out there as we all know! Has it ever struck you as odd that they always seem to be connected with the gods or their practice? Well I got news for you; heres a list telling you what a lot of them will never say(mostly, and sometimes will say if asked but most of the time they aren't).

The point of this list IS NOT to shame them, its to bring awareness to the community, to give motivation, and to overcome possible Imposter Syndrome with our paths and practices.

*** Most, and yes, MOST people of our community in fact do not have daily, weekly, or even monthly conversations or workings with gods or deities. Yes, we can all work with them, however that doesn't mean there's always a line of communication. Content creators will brush over this, and yes it does seem to us, like they talk to them all the time. Not the case.

*** Before I say this next one, I will go ahead and recognize that a lot of people say this too, I'm bringing this up for again, awareness.

It is okay to stop Practicing, Offerings, Praying, and any forms of work with our craft or path. Taking a break from it is sometimes necessary. We are human. We will get overwhelmed sometimes and THAT'S OKAY!! You are not any less of a Pagan because of it, and if anyone says otherwise, send them to me. Fuck those people, its your craft, not theirs.

*** You do not need that expensive altar and altar pieces. You don't! Most us Pagans are in the working class and simply can't afford these extravagant altar. You can buy whatever you want but you don't need most things for your craft. (Not shaming the people with amazing altars btw, even I look at them)

*** Can't afford certain offering items? That's fine! Here's some things you can use for offerings for my budget pagans and witches. Food from your plate, WATER(easiest and great offering for any occasion, I recommend water especially with ancestor work), Herbs you probably already have, crafts you do, creative writings, crafts, music, plants, and the list goes on.

*** Your craft is your craft. Again, your craft is your craft. As long as you're not culture appropriating, do whatever feels right.

*** When these bigger creators go on break and say they are taking a hiatus, they do not really go into detail that they did nothing for months, they will tell you about the one or two things that DID happen. Again, this can discourage their audience. Again, I'm not attacking creators for this, cause who wants to say they did nothing for months? Exactly.

*** Most importantly, if you identify as Pagan, THAT! IS! ENOUGH! Just believing our ways and the gods and deities is enough to be Pagan. I don't care what anyone says.

As stated earlier, this post was not to put down Content Creators in any way. I am simply hoping I can empower my community. I struggled for a long time thinking I wasn't Pagan enough because I felt I wasn't doing enough or didn't have the money or time to invest. Be the best you can be for yourself, not other people. You're loved, and doing enough.
