You don't owe it to others, to fulfill their image of a man/woman/enby.

I still get hung up on whether I pass as a man or not. But saying this out loud, does help often. Not always but often enough.

Not everyone that has known you, will and can immediately use your chosen name and pronouns.

In my experience, the longer someone has known you, the harder it can be for them to name and gender you correctly. It's not always because of transphobia, malice or denial. My best friend for example has literally known me since I was in diapers. And for most of our lives, they have known me as "deadname" and as a girl. So of course suddenly coming out with a new identity and name will take getting used to. Personally I'm not mad if they misgender or deadname me. (Especially because we don't spend much time together)

Transition medically for yourself, not for the sake of others.

My main reason for transition used to be to pass for others.

Which honestly is not a good reason.

Now I am more aware of what I actually want and what would help me feel comfortable in my body. So I know which steps to take in my medical transition. Yeah therapists can help with that but while they might greenlight your transition not all of them will fully educate and prepare you for it. Keep in mind, a medical transition is still a big step and might cause a lot of other issues. Do your research, consult doctors and make sure you are absolutely ready for it.

You're valid no matter what!
