Your new Drarry Microfic mods here 👋

Firstly, a massive thank you to @makeitp1nk and @cluelesspigeons for all the amazing work you and the other mods have done to create and sustain this lovely community over the past four years - it has inspired so many wonderful and amazing bite-size Drarry fics!

For anyone new to the concept of the Drarry Microfic challenge, the principle is: we issue a weekly prompt, you write a short fic inspired by it (originally 50 words, but we welcome micros of any and all sizes!), you tag @drarrymicrofic, and we reblog it on our tumblr account with some nice tags. 💖

It’s a fun, low-pressure way to get started writing fic, and for the more experienced to practice flexing their short-form writing muscles, and a great way to discover like-minded friends and fellow creators. Alongside the tumblr, there is a discord server focused on microfic, which is currently undergoing some updates. Follow our blog, and check back in a couple of weeks for more information, including how to join!

All four of us have enjoyed being part of the microfic community over the years, and can’t wait to get going officially in June. In the meantime, we plan to reblog some of the incredible microfic back catalogue, as well as those recently written micros that were sitting in our notifications. So, please, sit back and enjoy some blasts from the past as well as some brand new microfics.

Hello! We may have made some folks uncomfortable with our first April post linking the prompt "pieces" to Autism Awareness Month, and for that we are very sorry. We mod a vibrant international community we love, but sometimes that means we’ll run into instances where knowledge of certain topics differs across borders (example) and lead to discomfort. We are grateful to our community for bridging those gaps for us and are truly sorry for making anyone feel anything other than respected and supported. ❤️ We have updated our post to share our prompt and also celebrate Autism Awareness Month with no associations, only our love.

Before the party started, Harry went to Grimmauld Place to change his outfit. Afterwards, he returned to Ron and Hermione’s house. Ginny was already there, smiling brightly as she laughed at something Pansy and Luna must have said. Harry thought he saw some pink dusting her cheeks as she glanced at . Neville, who was currently talking to Blaise and Theo.

“Congratulations!” Harry exclaimed as he approached Ginny, placing a hand on her back to not startle her. “You reached your zenith now!”

“Thank you,” Ginny said with glittering eyes. “It’s about time.” She whispered the last sentence, glancing at Neville again. 

“He’s the right man for you.” Harry nodded, pulling her into a hug. “I’m happy for you.” 

Ginny sniffed a bit in the crook of his neck and Harry patted her back. They had come to the conclusion early on that they were better off as friends. Their relationship had never been better than after they had broken up. And now Ginny had found Neville. 

“Draco is here,” Ginny said before pulling away. 

Harry turned around and saw the man in a black shirt and  dark blue jeans. His hair looked a little messy as he was in a deep conversation with Ron. What they were talking about was a mystery, but Harry decided that it was time to find out. 

It was time for him to reach his own zenith.

Make it Sweet

Be prepared guys, this will be a little serie ✨

Harry and Ron were in the kitchen while Hermione was with Pansy and Draco in the living room, ready to decorate everything for the party that evening. They would all be celebrating Ginny and Neville’s engagement. 

Ron grumbled beside Harry. “Why are we the ones baking the cookies while the others got to do all the fun stuff?” 

“You know Hermione and she knows your taste in decoration.” Harry chuckled as he put his hands in the bowl. “She would never let you decorate a party, unless it was Halloween themed.”

“Hey!” Ron threw some flour at Harry. “You’re my best friend. You’re not supposed to say that! Even if it’s true…”

Harry laughed and that caught Draco’s attention. Harry stopped kneading the dough for a moment. He was in awe at the sight of that radiant face, his heart beating fast. 

They looked at each other, Draco’s eyes flicking to the cookie dough before moving back to stare at Harry again. 

“When will you two stop devouring each other so publicly?” Ron whispered. 

“What?” Reluctantly, Harry tore his gaze away from Draco. Instead, he looked at his best friend, shocked.. “I’m not devouring him.” 

“Oh please, you were totally making out with just your eyes just then.” Ron grinned before nudging him. “When will you confess to him?”

Harry turned to look back at where Draco had been standing a few seconds ago. He was gone now. Heart sinking, he looked down at the cookie dough again.  

Life was short. 

It was time to make it sweet.

Andromeda looked so pissed, Harry felt embarrassed. But he couldn’t help it. Teddy was so happy now that he thought it was worth the woman's terror. 

“Why did you do that?” she snarled, breathing hard to keep her composure.

“It was cute and—” 

“It’s my fault, Aunty.” Draco tried to rescue him. 

“Don’t you dare, Draco,” Andromeda cut in. “You’re maybe my family by blood but you were raised as a Malfoy. You wouldn’t buy a four year old child a niffler because it’s ‘cute’.” 

Harry looked down in shame, but his heart beat in joy when he heard his godson shouting.

“Harry! Nifnif found a treasure!”

Drarry microfic: prejudice

Harry found Scorpius in his room the day before he left for Hogwarts, his soft sniffles filling the silence.

“I don’t want to be sorted into Slytherin,” Scorp whispered softly when Harry sat down next to him on the ground. “I don’t want to become an evil wizard.”

Sighing, Harry wrapped his arm around Scorp, pulling him closer. “Can I tell you a secret?”

Scorpius looked up at him, watery, grey eyes staring at him with so much curiosity, Harry almost laughed. He looked so much like his father it was scary. “A secret?”

“Yeah.” Harry nodded, a fond smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “I was almost sorted into Slytherin myself.”

Scorps eyes widened, his mouth falling open in disbelief. “You’re lying.”

“I promise you, I’m not.”

“But…” Scorp shook his head. “You’re not an evil wizard!”

Harry shrugged. “Neither is your father, is he?”

Scorpius looked down then, his pale cheeks colouring a soft pink. “You’re right. Sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry,” Harry said, pulling Scorpius closer again. “We all have our prejudices.”

Bullet Journal

It was late in the day when Draco found his boyfriend doing something weird at the coffee table in their living room. The table was messy, that’s for sure. There were a bunch of colourful pens and some colourful tape spread on the surface. 

Harry didn’t notice him, so Draco sneaked behind the couch and watched him carefully. 

He drew lines and columns in a notebook, with numbers on the side and some pieces of that tape here and there. It was too confusing.

“What are you doing?” Draco finally asked, not really liking Harry doing something that he had no clue about.

“Merlin, Draco!” Harry gasped. “You startled me and now I messed up!” 

Draco looked over Harry’s shoulderto see that one of the lines wasn’t as straight anymore. Harry used his wand to erase the line and started redoing it.

“You haven’t answered my question,” Draco said as he joined Harry on the couch.

“I’m doing my bullet journal before the new year comes.”

“That’s in two days.”

“Exactly. I’m very late!”

“Late for what?” Draco asked in a whisper. He was still really confused.

“My therapist told me to try to do this. It might help me to understand myself more and help me for somee… other reasons, as well.”

Draco nodded. So it was a muggle thing. Of course it was. He had never seen someone doing this kind of stuff before. But if it could help Harry in any way, he was happy for him. And so he judged his choice of colours and drawings before being kicked out of the living room with a laugh.
