helllooo & welcome to this lil account of mine! so my name is osiris and i'm relatively new to tumblr (i've tried to ease my way into the community multiple times to no avail), and as a writer i thought i'd try my hand at making some friends in the community as a way to grow and improve my writing!

my current wip is a political war fantasy with sci-fi elements and it's currently in the outline stage

i would like to get better at worldbuilding and creating more expansive and fleshed out worlds like asoiaf and cosmere

i write fantasy & sci-fi but i also have a soft spot for romance, psychological thrillers, and spy stories.

one of my main goals is to write one of the most heart-wrenching, angsty corruption arcs

I've never actually had a successful NaNoWriMo...

would love to do beta reading and critiquing to help improve both of our writing!

also a sucker for any epic fantasy, dark fantasy, sci-fi, corruption or redemption arcs, stories where the villains are the main character (especially this!!!), and an ACTUAL enemies to lovers trope

my outlines are messy, my thoughts messier. character background history is muddled in thousands of words of lore that i have yet to sort out. timelines aren’t as accurate as i’d like them to be and i still don’t know what to name the antagonist, but damn will it all be worth it when i finally get to write that one dramatic scene that started this whole idea . . .

About Me:

I go by Sea or Amethyst!

I use she/they pronouns.

I'm a college student!

My Writing:

I write primarily queer fantasy, and I'm currently working on a standalone WIP, while I figure out what to do about my problem WIP.

I've been writing seriously for more than 4 years, and I have still never finished a novel length work. (Though I've reached novel-length word counts several times over.)

I favor softer magic systems, and I write a combination of darker and lighter fantasy.

I don't publish my work publicly, as I'm trying to get traditionally published. :)

Current WIP

Working Title: Wanderer and the Lightsea

A Really Bad/Chaotic Summary: Lilta lives on the edge of a thousand worlds, yet she has only seen one. She lives on a harbor of the Lightsea, a magical plane between worlds that links each realm to the next. After her friend, Norryn — a Wanderer, set to sail between worlds before choosing one to settle on— goes missing after deciding to settle on Lilta's harbor, Lilta leaves her harbor for the first time, hoping to find Norryn before its too late.

I'm currently working on an overly detailed plot outline for this WIP.

some of my favorite books: The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab, Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

I'm willing to give almost any book a try if it gets a glowing enough recomendation.
