Teen Beach Movie - Biker OC (kinda)
I watched Teen Beach Movie again and it's still a great movie!
I have these weekly drawing prompts with a friend of mine and this week was "something inspired by a movie/series" but we only have as long as the duration of it.
I wanted to try a biker design of teen beach movie and ended up with this. It's not my best work but hey, I completely made it myself!

Should we give her a name?
I know, it's been a while since I last posted something here and I should change that. Sorry!

Signs a Character Is Falling in Love
ෆ They Start Noticing the Small Things: The way the other person laughs. How they stir their coffee. The exact shape of their handwriting.
ෆ Hyper-Awareness of Touch. A brush of fingers becomes a full-body event. They replay it later. On loop.
ෆ They Look for Them First in a Room. Just a glance. A check. Not because they care. Obviously.
ෆ Jealousy They Can’t Explain. A spike of irritation when someone else makes them laugh. What’s that about? They don’t want to know.
ෆ Their Defenses Go Weird. More sarcasm. More teasing. Or less of everything. Silence, suddenly.
ෆ Uncharacteristic Generosity. Lending a book. Making a playlist. Bringing coffee “just because.” They’re not in love. They’re just nice.
ෆ They Get Irritated by Their Own Reactions. Why do they care so much? Why are they thinking about this? Why won’t it stop?
ෆ They Start Mirroring. Their speech patterns shift. Their posture echoes the other person. It’s subconscious. It’s terrifying.
ෆ They Avoid Eye Contact More Than Usual. Because they’re afraid if they look too long, the truth will pour out.
ෆ They Rehearse Conversations in Their Head. Over and over, what they could say, what they wish they said. They’re not in love. Nope. Definitely not.

20 Lies Your Character Believes
(These can shape their behavior, choices, and arcs... until they’re forced to confront them.)
✧ I’m hard to love.
✧ If I don’t succeed, I’m worthless.
✧ People only stick around if I earn them.
✧ If I show weakness, I’ll be left behind.
✧ Everyone eventually leaves.
✧ I’m just like my father/mother—and that’s a bad thing.
✧ I’m too broken to fix.
✧ Happiness isn’t meant for people like me.
✧ The worst thing I ever did defines me forever.
✧ If I’m not useful, I’m disposable.
✧ My anger is dangerous. I have to bury it.
✧ If people really knew me, they’d leave.
✧ I don’t deserve forgiveness.
✧ Love is weakness.
✧ Control is safety.
✧ I can fix everyone else but not myself.
✧ I owe it to them to suffer.
✧ If I rest, I’ll fall apart.
✧ Hope is a trap.
✧ This is the best version of me they’ll ever get.

You don’t need to say “She was losing.”
Show me the way her breath stutters, the way her vision blurs at the edges, how her arms feel like lead but she still lifts them anyway. Show me the taste of blood on her tongue, the sharp sting when she wipes it away.
A fight isn’t just fists and kicks, it’s instinct. It’s mistakes. It’s the split second where she moves left instead of right, and pain explodes across her ribs. It’s the way she grits her teeth, forces herself to stay standing, even when her legs threaten to buckle.
People don’t announce their next move. They don’t think in long sentences. It’s breathless. It’s now. It’s move or lose. Make your readers feel every hit, every heartbeat, every desperate second she fights to stay on her feet.

Unhealed Wounds Your Character Pretends Are Just “Personality Traits”
These are the things your character claims are just “how they are” but really, they’re bleeding all over everyone and calling it a vibe.
╰ They say they're "independent." Translation: They don’t trust anyone to stay. They learned early that needing people = disappointment. So now they call it “being self-sufficient” like it’s some shiny badge of honor. (Mostly to cover up how lonely they are.)
╰ They say they're "laid-back." Translation: They stopped believing their wants mattered. They'll eat anywhere. Do anything. Agree with everyone. Not because they're chill, but because the fight got beaten out of them a long time ago.
╰ They say they're "a perfectionist." Translation: They believe mistakes make them unlovable. Every typo. Every bad hair day. Every misstep feels like proof that they’re worthless. So they polish and polish and polish... until there’s nothing real left.
╰ They say they're "private." Translation: They’re terrified of being judged—or worse, pitied. Walls on walls on walls. They joke about being “mysterious” while desperately hoping no one gets close enough to see the mess behind the curtain.
╰ They say they're "ambitious." Translation: They think achieving enough will finally make the emptiness go away. If they can just get the promotion, the award, the validation—then maybe they’ll finally outrun the feeling that they’re fundamentally broken. (It never works.)
╰ They say they're "good at moving on." Translation: They’re world-class at repression. They’ll cut people out. Bury heartbreak. Pretend it never happened. And then wonder why they wake up at 3 a.m. feeling like they're suffocating.
╰ They say they're "logical." Translation: They’re terrified of their own feelings. Emotions? Messy. Dangerous. Uncontrollable. So they intellectualize everything to avoid feeling anything real. They call it rationality. (It's fear.)
╰ They say they're "loyal to a fault." Translation: They mistake abandonment for loyalty. They stay too long. Forgive too much. Invest in people who treat them like an afterthought, because they think walking away makes them "just as bad."
╰ They say they're "resilient." Translation: They don't know how to ask for help without feeling like a burden. They wear every bruise like a trophy. They survive things they should never have had to survive. And they call it strength. (But really? It's exhaustion wearing a cape.)

Character Movements — When They’re in Love (and Probably Don’t Want to Admit It)
Love doesn’t just blush and flutter. It aches. It stumbles. It leaks through the cracks, even when a character is trying to play it cool. Here’s what love looks like when it’s happening in the body before the character’s brave enough to say it.
╰ They lean in—and don’t realize it.
It’s instinct. Subconscious. Like their body is quietly screaming, closer. A slow drift during conversation. A head tilted slightly too far. A step forward they don’t take back.
╰ They can’t quite make eye contact—but they can’t stop looking.
They glance. Look away. Glance again. Maybe their gaze drops to the mouth. Maybe it hovers on the hands. Eye contact is too dangerous, it sees too much, but looking away entirely? Impossible.
╰ They fidget in specific, revealing ways.
Tugging sleeves. Adjusting jewelry. Touching their mouth when the other person talks. These aren’t nervous tics, they’re little release valves for all the don’t-say-it-don’t-feel-it energy.
╰ They mirror the other person.
Their gestures sync. Their laughs overlap. They cross their arms a beat after the other person does, and don’t even notice. Their body’s doing the bonding for them.
╰ They hover instead of touching.
The space between two people in love-but-not-there-yet is holy. Brushing hands. Shared drinks. Standing so close their shoulders almost touch, but never quite. Like if they make contact, it’s game over.

Ella - Inbetween Time
Tumblr media
Ella is fit. When she or Malia need a break from everything the both hit the gym. They begin with a nice jog, before boxing (Ella LOVES it because she can let out all of her rage)
I am not quite happy with her face and this drawing took longer than expected 😅)

How Body Language Changes When a Character Is Falling in Love (Whether They Admit It or Not)
When someone starts to fall, it shows up everywhere—not in the love confession (that’s the easy part), but in the twitch of a smile, in the silence that suddenly feels charged, in the way someone’s hand almost reaches out before pulling back.
╰ They start listening… with their whole damn body
Suddenly, they’re turned toward this person all the time. Full body facing them. Chin tilted slightly in. They lean forward during small talk like it’s breaking news. They notice things, like the rhythm of their voice, the way their lips move when they think too hard. They stop fiddling with their phone. Their knee bounces until the other person speaks, and then, stillness. They’re so present, it hurts.
╰ Their eye contact gets… weird
Sometimes they can’t stop looking. Sometimes they can’t look at all... There’s that moment—the pause, the flicker—where their eyes land on the other person’s mouth for just a second too long. Or they track their hands. Or notice how their hair falls into their face. It’s not about lust. It’s yearning, and it’s quiet and stupid and full of panic. And when the person catches them looking? Immediate eye dart. Back to their drink. To the sky. To anywhere else. Guilty. Flushed. Terrified.
╰ Their hands get stupid
They’re suddenly very aware of what their hands are doing. They fidget more. Or freeze. They keep their arms close to their body, like they’re worried they’ll accidentally reach out. If they touch the other person, even casually, it lingers. Not long enough to be noticed, but long enough to matter. Sometimes they adjust the other person’s collar or brush something off their sleeve and then have a tiny meltdown inside. That kind of touch feels too intimate. It’s not flirtation. It’s reverence.
╰ Their silence means more than their words
They trail off mid-sentence. Laugh at things they don’t usually laugh at. Start saying something and stop themselves. It’s because their brain is trying to do too many things at once—act normal, sound chill, don’t make it weird, try not to look like you’re in love. Meanwhile, the body is over here sweating, shifting, subtly turning toward the other person like a sunflower in denial.
╰ Their whole vibe gets softer
There’s a gentleness that creeps in. Even if they’re a sharp, snarky character, there’s a moment where they look at the person like they’re a planet they’ve just discovered. It’s brief. It’s devastating. It’s involuntary. And they might pretend it didn’t happen. But the reader saw it. The love interest definitely saw it. And suddenly, everything is different.
╰ Bonus: They mirror the other person without meaning to
Their arms cross when the other person’s do. Their head tilts. They laugh a beat after. This is subconscious connection at work. Their body wants to match this person. Sync with them. Be close without being obvious. And when they stop mirroring? That’s a sign too. Maybe something hurt. Maybe they’re trying to pull away. But the body always tells the truth, even when the character’s mouth is lying through its teeth.

I made a little animation
I have this idea for Inbetween Time, that whenever Malia is flustered and/or nervous, she pulls her hair in front of her face to hide.
I tried to animate it
Tumblr media
It's messy and it's like my third animation, so it's definitely not the best 😅

my snow white la version ❤️🍎
Tumblr media
ive talked before about how snow white is a good movie but not a good disney remake so i decided to draw my version of a few characters
set in a ficctional kingdom that takes inspo from the medieval, tudor and renaissance era, this 'snow white' is a romantic period drama between snow white and her childhood friend and love interest – louis, their love story is the main focus and its just sweet and romantic
i could talk a lot about my version but for now its just the characters design and im really proud of them specially the evil queen (who would be played by olivia colman idc) i wanted to create this fairytale, romance and period world (we need more of these)
i wish i could be the director of the live action so i couldve made this 😭

Inbetween Time has now over 10.000 words!
I know, it's not a lot. But I mostly write the dialogue and the settings right now. There are many placeholders in it (hero 2 is still hero 2, I have to change the years and there is one role named "random scientist 1')
I have 7 scenes written so far, with the second one being the shortest (551 words) and the sixth being the longest (2.657 words).
I am happy about it!
I really would like one friend to read it, but she hasn't (I think she ain't got the time right now). But I keep writing. My outline ist still really big and there is so much more to my plot.

Finally, everyone has a name!
Hero 2 will be known as Nicolas Raymond Cooper and that one guy without a name is going to be Sean
But I am still going to write "Hero 2" in my first draft 😅
Inbetween Time
I've got all main characters complete! (well, at least the designs)
Tumblr media
from left to right: Malia, Ella, Jace, Hero 2, guy that needs a good name and Mica!
feel free to zoom in
