Ao3: Center and Auto-resize images

There’s this lovely person, who’s gone and brought it to my attention, that adding images on Ao3 isn’t just a matter of slapping it on there. If you want to be mindful of auto resizing, then there’s a little more work to be done than just centering them.

And because I am lazy, and don’t want to go back into 30 plus chapters:

How to use Work Skins 

Work Skins let you add custom CSS to your Ao3 fics. Users can chose to turn them off, but lets assume they don’t (or if they do, they have their own, which likely already takes care of things).

Summary:

Evan Buckley wasn’t born under a prophecy or with a holy choir singing in the background. He wasn’t even born for himself. He was born to save a dying brother - and he failed.

When Evan found out he’d been custom-built as a bone marrow dispenser for a sibling he never met, he did the only thing that made sense: he climbed into the Jeep his sister gave him, and ran like hell from Hershey, PA. He’s been driving ever since - chasing freedom, maybe answers, but mostly just trying to breathe.

He thought his parents and sister were the only ones who could give him answers - but the road trip from hell seems hellbent on proving otherwise.

There’s a dragon-snake thing in Florida. Flesh-eating horses in Montana. And an old goat-man who insists Evan’s “Obama-care hands” is totally normal, then gave him a map to some camp in the New York woods.

Cool. No notes.

As if unearthing family trauma wasn’t enough, now Evan’s weird quirks - making promises, sensing lies, the way animals listen to him - they just might mean something. Like, maybe he’s a demigod. Which is definitely not a thing. Right?

Because Evan Buckley might be spiraling, but even he knows better than to join a cult in the woods. Probably.

hey tumblr are y’all also having Next To Normal fixations at the moment or am i just stuck in musical/westend tiktok? i am in absolute awe of jack wolfe’s rendition of gabe goodman and thought, “how can i fit my good friend buck buckley into this?” and a vision came to me and it will not leave me alone. so have buck in 911 s4e4-5 having to address his parents’ and sister’s grief made manifest. have buck finally having the ability to name the spectre that has cast the long shadow that he has been living in all of his life. never being good enough for people to stay for, always too much, and forever too exhausting for everybody that no one can ever love him anyway. well, maybe. maybe daniel could have loved him too, if he wasn’t gone too soon.

personally, i rebuke the timeline that peter krause is no longer part of the 9-1-1, and so i am manifesting, putting it out in the world that bobby nash will return to us once again.

adding to this with more funny haha / funny kinda dark thoughts about the tbhx world building.

but also like think of actor celebrities, and how they embody their roles, and some people in that world enforcing ideas and beliefs about a character into an actor. like they might not be in the the top hundreds, but imagine an actor with a hero trust value of like #796. imagine keanu reeves with john wick lethality, and maybe matrix perception. imagine tom cruise who just *can not* die from his “stunts” irl - that he can survive anything. jennifer lawrence being seen as a political revolutionary symbol against the government, and having to grapple with those expectations and trust by the people, and how her words and action are shaped by how the public perceives her, and having to live with that in her daily life. like how can you even be an actor in that world?

and how about online micro celebrities? that��s how moon started right? as a travel vlogger? and that gave her teleportation powers to see more of the world to show to her fans - before that was warped by her interaction with nice. what do you do with people’s first impression of you as a person, if you’re a viral meme? what do you with a kid who’s got the power of god and anime at his side? how about jared (19) who “never learned how to read” losing his ability to read for all time because that’s how perceived him to be? drew gooden having all the roads in his life always being under construction, yet because he “hope it does”, all roads work for him and never have having a red stop light or any obstacle ever - the roads are just constantly slow for him, but the roads WORK with him to get him to his destination.

just. so many thoughts about the trust value, and we haven’t even touched the fear factor / fear value yet.

i'm really so curious how deeply tbhx is gonna go with its whole premise of "heroes are made and gain powers based on trust" because i really wasn't anticipating that

1) moon/xiao yueqing has teleportation-based powers but because everyone wants her and nice to stick together, her teleportation leads back to nice which was INSANE to me

and

2) lin ling is becoming increasingly more worried about being clean and perfect which is a side effect of nice's image of perfection which is indicating that this whole trust system can have mental effects??? and that's horrifying to me???

we are 2 episodes in, how deep is this gonna go
