Chapter 3;Multitasking

A fickle mutual favor, that's how Celine remembers herself agreeing to Nikkis idea.

Yes she understood she needed the funds for her experiments and designs to continue but she knew Nikkis scheme had to involve far more than just a few games with money bet upon the table.

Celine had known Nikki for at least a year longer than Melody so there was no way a few dice rolls and cards would be all that could get them their dreams.

Unfortunately with those games came cheaters and liars that Celine couldn't stand. This included the people Bonnie brought to her now unwarranted anger plastered on their faces

"So these guys are the ones who thought we wouldn't notice?" Celine inquired

"Oh yes they tried to cheat Melody at the last poker game " Bonnie said keeping a grin on her face that Celine knew meant she was eager to dish out punishment

"So gentlemen care to tell me your reason for what you did ?" Celine asked the boys clearly irritated with them

"It was just easy money not much else" the ringleader said

"Uh huh and you didn't see the policy on your way in?" Celine raised a brow as Bonnie tapped a sign that read no cheating or you're out

"Oh please people cheat at shit like this all the time" the second one pointed out before Celine stood up "Yes but unlike those places there's actual consequences here and j don't appreciate you trying to cheat my friend out of her money but seeing as I'm willing to give second chances,I think I can overlook this incident if you do something for me" Celine said a smile slowly coming to her face

At this the boys seemed concerned "and uh what's that exactly?" The leader asked

"Test my game, you play for the money you owe, win and I'll forgive your little debt sound good?"

The males seemed to ponder her words before they nodded

"Sure Perrine we'll play your dumb little game but what is it"

"You'll find out, Bonnie the keys please " Bonnie grabbed a set of keys before they followed Celine to a door that once unlocked showed a room that seemed normal but there was certainly more to it than what these boys were expecting

"Now here's how this is gonna go you guys are gonna split into two teams. The team that gets to the final door first wins and their debt forgotten, lose and you're gonna have to find a way to pay off what you owe" Celine spoke calmly

"You can't do that" The leader said

"Oh yes I can otherwise I think I can just call up the headmaster and we'll see what he thinks about all this huh?" The boys knew she wasn't kidding once Bonnie smiled at them with a dark look in her scarlet red eyes

"fine fine we'll do your stupid game" the third said before they split into two teams

"Good luck fellas you're gonna need it" Celine said before she and Bonnie headed away to the space Azul had given the girls to oversee everything

Celine turned on the monitor to the escape rooms before Nikki came In with Melody

"I'm guessing you're doing this for more than money and defending Melody right?" Nikki inquired

"You know me too well Nicole, yes money is nice and I would love to watch them get torn a new one but what better way to get entertainment than run a nice little social experiment to see which of these guys will actually win fairly" Celine said while looking at the monitor that showed the males looking for the keys and clues to the next room

"Huh multitasking" Melody said

"Please tell me you included something in case they cheat" Bonnie grinned before Celine held a remote

"Wanna push a button when they do to find out?" Celine asked giving it to Melody

"Kind of " she responded

The four watched the monitors until Bonnie spotted something

"We got a fake key at twelve o clock~" Bonnie said giggling manically

"Melody hit the button at the top left once he's got it in the keyhole" Celine instructed

Before long the boy had it in the keyhole qnd Melody hit the button before the boy shouted in pain dropping the key and she knew what this was

"A shock button?" Celine nodded

"I thought they might try something like that so I may or may not have installed some things to make sure everyone plays fair" she spoke calmly

"Not bad" Nikki complimented before adding "what else did you install?"

"Oh a few moving walls, some trap doors can't make it too easy for either side"

After a few rooms the first group was shouting each other

"This is your fault Joe! " the second one shouted at the leader "I thought it was an easy scam I don't see any of you coming up with ideas shaun!" Joe shouted back

Meanwhile the other two seemed to find the key "this is it, Edgar just one more room and we can forget this shit" the boy said "yeah this was a nightmare Daisuke" Edgar said before they heard a sound

"Are those walls moving ?" Shaun asked "GO GO" Joe said searching more frantically before Daisuke fitted the key In running with Edgar

In the monitor room the girls were laughing

"Okay okay we better go greet our winners " Celine said heading to the room the boys were meant to meet them in

The boys panted catching their breaths once Celine and Bonnie were there waiting

"Congratulations boys you won without cheating and used your heads, consider your debt wiped clean" Celine said pleased

Joe and Shaun then came in themselves looking terrible

"As for you two I think that the lounge could use two new sets of hands unless you want me to report you to the headmaster" Celine said showing a video of all their cheating

"Ugh fine just never put us in one of your stupid rooms again! " Joe shouted

"Oh just make sure you never cheat again and I won't have to after all cheaters never win, espically guys who try to cheat my friends and crush their dreams " Celine said looking at her nails

Bonnie smiled dragging Joe and Shaun away before Celine smiled at Daisuke and Edgar

"Hope you had fun fellas" Celine said before she headed off

Nikki watched Celine on the monitor she knew this was Celine at her best, finding a way to make things work in multiple ways and that would surely benefit them in the long run

this specific chapter revolves around Melody Seashell

Chapter 2;Eyes are the key

It was only a few days since the casino had been added to the Monstro Lounge and Melody couldn't be anymore nervous if she tried to be, after all it was her turn to host the games for the day

Many, many things had the potential to go horribly wrong with Nikkis' plan and by some miracle they managed to get the chance to open the place with the headmaster and Azul Ashengrottos' permission. Everything needed to go right if they wanted to keep the place open and achieve what they desired.

Melody took a deep breath and got to work setting things up before the patrons arrived.

They all sat at the tables as the others got to work and Melody sat at her own table while Bonnie came over

Bonnie had heard about the threes endeavor and said it seemed like good entertainment so she requested to help them out

"Mind if I act as the dealer?" She inquired

Melody shook her head no "not at all Bonnie" Melody said with a smile

After a while a few customers came over

"You play poker or black jack?" One boy inquired

"Both, but which would you prefer?" Melody asked

"Poker" the second said as Bonnie took out the cards and they all sat down as she dealt them out

Melody did have one secret. When she was home every other night her father would host a game night between himself and his associates. When she wasn't in her room she would find a spot that she could hide in so even if she couldn't fully see what was happening she could most certainly hear it.

There was one thing she had learned during every game, everyone had their tells and eyes are always key

Melody kept her eyes on her opponents faces and knew the first one had a good set of cards so she folded this round a wise decision as the boy presented a full house

The next two rounds went by fine and during the second boy dropped out once he realized he didn't have a good set of cards on him but something was off with the other one from what Melody could tell with how smug he was acting.

Melody looked at the guys hands and saw something sticking out of his sleeves.

"Hey Bonnie?" She said

"Yes?" Bonnie responded

"I think we someone cheating " she said before the boy tried to defend himself "I'm not cheating" he said before Bonnie grabbed his arm pulling it up before several cards fell out

"He's been cheating. Want me to throw him out?~ of course all his winnings will be confiscated ~" Bonnie giggled

Melody shook her head "No one more game he can try to keep it but if not I think we can take him to the others" Melody said as the boy had a sour expression but nodded in agreement.

The final game began as Bonnie confiscated the boys jacket and made him roll up his sleeves to ensure he couldn't cheat.

Within a few moments Melody knew he clearly thought he was going to win but she certainly knew better

"Read em and weep dollface full house " he smirked

"That's good but not enough in this case, royal flush" she presented the cards and his smile fell flat before the money was given to Melody and Bonnie went behind the boy taking him towards the VIP room.

Nikki approached "that was certainly something but how did you know he was cheating?" She asked with a brow raised

"It's easy his eyes darting gave him away" Melody smiled

Nikki returned her smile in kind she knew Melody was a benefit to the endeavor and she was proud of her friend.

Melody knew this game was only the beginning but she could certainly help make her friends dreams as well as her own, a guaranteed reality

Chapter 1: A long and winding path

Nikki had been watching her friends for some time when a thought crossed her mind, there were many expectations placed upon them. After all they were attending the school founded by some of the most powerful people recorded in history. Nikki herself knew what she wanted but to get there it wasn't an easy task, none of their dreams were.

Melody, one of the recent additions to their school within the year wanted to be an idol, she certainly had the voice for it but the industry was of course harsh to anyone who wanted to tread upon it. Melody also happened to have stage fright.

Celine as much as she enjoyed making beautiful clothing to make others feel happy, that industry is also harsh one and Nikki knew she feared her work might not be enough , it didn't help that you needed to be capable of accepting criticism and not giving up. Celine after all was harsh on herself enough from Nikkis observations.

As for Nikki she wanted to create films, being as flexible as she was surely she could be a capable stuntperson. Not just anyone was allowed to be behind the camera and she'd need to prove herself capable of being a star. It was demanding just the same as her friends

They needed plenty of things, they needed practice, but most of all they needed money and a lot of it . It dawned on Nikki just how they could get what they needed.

Nikki looked over at her friends before she took their hands in her own making Celine and Melody look at her

"I know a way we can fund all our dreams and get a little respect around here, that's what you both want right?" She spoke calmly with lilt in her voice

Both Celine and Melodys' eyes widened with curiosity and interest to what her plan might be

"Well yeah but how do we do it?" Melody inquired

Nikki seemed amused at her question "by taking a leaf out of my family's book"

The three soon approached the headmasters office where he and Azul Ashengrotto were kindly asked to meet them

"Miss Iriscope I do hope you plan to explain what it was you needed" the crow masked man spoke

"Yes I'd also like to know why is it you involved me" the bespectacled dorm leader chimed in

"If you both would quiet down I'll tell you" Nikki retorted keeping herself calm

They each sat down before Nikki spoke up

"I'd like to propose something that would benefit everyone present in this room, perhaps an extension to the Monstro Lounge" At this Azul raised a brow

"What kind of extension would that be exactly?"

"One of the easiest ways to make money Ashengrotto, a casino" Nikki spoke while looking at her nails

Crowley stared at the young lady after her proposal as if she had grown five heads

"And why would I allow such a thing on my school?" Dire asked flabbergasted

"Because part of the funds would make their way back to both the Monstro Lounge and the school itself, it's a lovely opportunity no?" Celine spoke up knowing this was surely an opportunity neither Dire or Azul would dare let slip through their fingers.

The headmaster placed his fingers to his chin and it was clear Azul was invested after all if it was an extension to his place that meant more guests, more deals to be made

"Since I am so kind I will allow your little extension" Dire said with a smile upon his lips

"Yes ladies I think this will work out nicely, I look forward to working with you three" Azul said

With that the three smiled to themselves even Melody knew this was only a step in the right direction for them and it would only be a matter of time before their wishes would be granted

How the staff comforts you after a bad day

Divus Crewel

Divus felt quite lucky to be the partner to one of the worlds best designers at least in his opinion

Divus went to go see you after work but to his surprise you weren't in your studio

He tried to call you but you weren't picking up and he knew something wasn't right

There was one other place you could be so he drove to your home

He got in using the key under the mat and looked for you until he heard sobbing upstairs

Divus walked upstairs knocking calling for you until he heard "go away" and went inside

He found you under the blankets sobbing and the room was a mess with many sketches torn up or crumpled and right away Divus knew what was wrong

He gently pried the blanket away asking if you were experiencing a bit of a block

Looking up at him with red tear stained eyes you nodded before he embraced you telling you it was alright to not know what to do next sometimes it happens to every great artist

And in his eyes you were nothing but the best, he dried your eyes making you some tea

Divus knows sometimes you need a break from trying to create

He makes sure after this incident to check on you more often just in case

Sam

You happened to work for another school so your meeting times were limited

In any case he was ready to see you after a long day of work

He passed through the gates seeing many of your coworkers and students but there was no sign of you

He looked everywhere but he couldn't find you until he saw your pet rabbit

The rabbit looked at him as it asking him to follow

soon enough Sam was lead to where you stay and it was pretty dark and from what he could make out it was a mess

He saw you crying on your desk before he placed a hand on your shoulder

Sam asked what you what happened and understood once he heard your woes

You had to teach a bunch of kids who clearly were a bunch of deliquents and didn't know how to handle it much longer

They trashed your classroom, didn't pay attention to lessons and clearly your boss wasn't doing anything to help

It honestly ticked Sam off if he were to be honest

Sam took you in his arms promising you things would be fine before your rabbit jumped up snuggling you both

He may or may not have pulled some strings to get you transferred to Night Raven to work with him so that stress wouldn't be as heavy on you

Sam just cares a lot about you

Dire Crowley

Believe it or not he isn't always useless at least not when it involves his partner, who so happened to be a gardener

Dire becomes concerned after you don't come to visit him for a few days

After this he went looking for you and he was horrified at what he saw

Your once beautiful garden that you were so proud of and loved was wilted and dying

Dire knew this wasn't normal, not for you he went to your home looking for you until he found you on the couch miserable

Dire asked you, why you looked like that and why your garden was dying when you were so proud of it

You told him how your just felt too much at once and even gardening didn't help when he wasn't there

Dire felt bad, of course he was in charge of a school but in the process he had forgotten to check on you when you were like this

He wiped your tears gently with his thumbs before taking your hands in his own and told you he'd help you get things back in order

This was enough to help you get out of bed and with that you got to work

By the end your garden was healthy again and in its center was a large beautiful apple tree

Dire enjoys gardening with his beloved among the flowers he finds them the fairest of them all

Ashton might be Vain but there is room in his heart for you and you so happened to be a Model was a bit of a bonus

Unfortunately you had been ignoring him as of late

He didn't get it, he was always in tip top shape so why were you ignoring him

Ashton went to see you and managed to intimidate your manager into letting him through only to find your dressing room trashed

Make up and perfume bottles smashed to pieces, clothes torn to shreds and your face was a mess from mascara and hot tears

He asked you what was wrong and what happened in there

You told him ,you couldn't take it anymore your job was very demanding and it was just too much for you

You barely had a sense of privacy thanks to your schedule

He felt awful he barely paid attention to you and this is what happened

Ashton hugged you tight and told you maybe you needed some time off away from the hustle of modeling clothes at least for a few days

He had a campsite set up with some things he thought you'd like including some stew he made

The best part would be when the stars come out and he keeps you close

Ashton knows he has to try better for you and he isn't a quitter

The Deep End

It was only a few days into Melodys' time in Night Raven College and it wasn't exactly easy

For one there were a lot of students who seemed to pick fights with anyone they could

She almost got swept up into a fight between two randos she got away yes but it shook her up a bit

It at least helped that she managed to make nice with a mysterious set of twins within her dorm at least they claimed to be her friends

If she was honest they frightened her a bit but nothing could compare to what was coming and that was

"Swim class!" The voice of Ashton Vargas boomed

Melody and her siblings had never been allowed to go swimming much less near the ocean, whenever she would ask questions she would be on the receiving end of the back of her parents hands

Melody couldn't help her fear of entering the pool

When it was her turn Melody tried to control her breathing but she couldn't help but shake there was something that was going to happen she knew it and it wasn't going to be pleasant

One of the students who seemed to have it out for Melody ever since she showed up, Horst came up to her

"What are you afraid of a little water ?" He taunted

Melody couldn't bring herself to speak up,she walked away since she didn't like confrontation however his maliciousness was only starting

She sat near the pool edge before she felt something push her forward and before she knew it her being was submerged within the pools depths bubbles escaped her lips as she rose from the pool depths

Coughing Melody rose out of the pool and everyone stared at her she didn't understand why, come to think of it she didn't understand why she couldn't feel both her legs it was as if there was only one.

As Melody regained her breath she looked at her hands and saw they were now clawed, webbed and green.

She screamed not understanding what was happening to her, she didn't understand why she looked like this

As Melody screamed one of her classmates, a blue haired second year called Celine Perrine made her way into the pool before she took Melodys hands into hers,deep brown eyes looking into her own

"Melody look at me, look at me" she said calmly trying to calm the screaming girl down

Melody looked into Celines' eyes with her own teary ones

"It's okay, I've got you " with those words Melody calmed down a little

"Did you not know?" Celine asked concerned before Melody shook her head no

"Well I can tell you you're not a monster or anything like that you're a mermaid and from the looks of it you've never transformed before despite feeling pangs" Celine swam them to the edge

She didn't understand what Celine meant by pangs but she finally saw it Celine had a tail herself it sparkled under the water silvery with hints of blue

"What do pangs mean?" She inquired

"It means pains when you look out at sea and aren't close to it,"

Celine helped her onto the pools edge while Floyd couldn't help but stare before Jade closed his jaw despite him being shocked himself

They had a feeling thanks to her scent but they simply couldn't be sure until now

Nikki ran over to them "you okay ?" She asked concerned but it was clear she was ready to beat Horst to a pulp for what he did to her

"Y yeah j just shocked" Melody squeaked out

"Great now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go teach some blokes some manners " she said before walking off a dark smile on her face

"Let's get you dried off " Celine said picking up melody as her tail shifted back into legs

As she was carried many thoughts ran through melodys mind including the fact her parents had lied to her and her siblings for their entire lives

A few days later and Melody was approached once more by Céline and Nikki "We got a proposal for ya love " Nikki smiled

"What is it?" She asked before Céline spoke "we're gonna teach you how to swim and control your mermaid form"

Melody nodded as the girls brought her to the pool

The girls changed to their swimsuits before they jumped in and Melody could take in both their forms

Nikki had beautiful pastel pink skin and upon her head was a cap not unlike a jellyfish and where her legs used to be were pink tentacles that seemed to glide through the water with a soft elegance while Célines' tails scales shined in the water creating a rainbow upon impact and the blue seemed to glitter as if made of jewels

"You're both so pretty " Melody said amazed

"Thank you come on in " Celine said helping her in

Melody felt herself shift once more the foreign feeling making itself known as her legs became a tail

The two had some trial and error but soon enough Melody was swimming much faster than either of them and she loved it

Melody felt free, free in this form of the troubles that plagued her so long but she didn't notice a certain Eel was watching her and he was grinning to himself

"Angelfish you will be mine" Floyd promised
