I just realized...is it weird that they don't mention aoyama at all, like in any way??

Zero missed presence or reaction from the hero kids (supposedly his friends) or teachers.

Just absence, like he never existed at all 👀

It's kind of funny how little retaining sentiment there is 😆 but also kind of messed up if you really think about it 🤨

’Kay, so I guess I was under the impression My Hero Academia: You’re Next was gonna take place post-Final War, but I just looked it up…and it’s right after Aoyama is outed as the traitor?

All I gotta say is I hope there’s a scene with the remaining LoV members just standing in a circle and then Dabi yells,

“What do you mean an All Might impersonator?!”

Spinner: "Stand back, he's gonna blow!"

...

Or the main cast occasionally saying they need to finish this quickly so they can back to the crisis at home.

I was talking with my partner earlier about how I prefer reading manga over American comic books, since manga is typically written by one person all the way through, so it's easier to tell if I'm actually interested in the story or characters in a series enough to continue it. While with comics, if there's a character I like there's always several different writers' runs of that character and I might only prefer a handful of people's interpretations of those character's arcs and stories, so it can be a bit harder to get into.

However, I kinda wish we could have that with My Hero, given how hard Horikoshi dropped the ball at the very end. I'd be so curious to see how maybe Oda (One Piece) would handle the social political commentary and how hero society would have changed after the Final War since Horikoshi brought up so many flaws within that system and how it failed people, and then changed literally nothing in the end.

Or, I'd fucking love to see how Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) would have handled the League of Villains' fates since while Scar was a murderer and antagonist at the start of FMA, he had very fucking valid points against the government (given the genocide and all) and then later in the epilogue he had become an important figure working to make peace between Amestris and Ishval. I think she could have done a lot with the League's issues with society and have them work with the heroes to change things so what happened to them wouldn't happen again. (She definitely would have handled the heteromorph discrimination issues better than Horikoshi did.) And I'd love to see her rewrite the entire Todoroki family subplot as a whole. I think she'd actually make Endeavor suffer consequences for his horrific actions, and Rei and Fuyumi would have much more prominent roles, as they should. (Can't believe we never get to see Touya talk to/apologize to Rei when that was the first thing he wanted to do after he woke up from his coma. Especially when she's the main one who saved him in the end, besides Shoto.)

All this to say, I don't think I'll ever stop being pissed off about the end of My Hero. I've read a lot of finished manga lately, and while not all of them have ended the way I prefer, and I usually have things I would have liked to see more of or characters I thought could have had more screentime/development, I don't feel anywhere near as angry and betrayed by those writing decisions as I do with this.

I think, like any real life ailment, it depends on the day:

On one hand, of course she loves the power, the magical convenience, the inherent ego she gets by becoming a literal god among a civilization of people who hated her. She is by all definitions the most powerful critter in the universe. Who wouldn’t be hyped about that? As long as you can handle a body-sharing roommate as annoying as Cyn.

But on the other hand… she’s cursed with a never ending hunger for her own kind’s body and blood, can’t go out in the sunlight again, and is either a full on hologram or a giant eldrich centipede… or both. That coupled with the fact that she’s not outwardly liked by anyone other than N, her family honestly sucks, and housing trauma far beyond any other drone’s imagination… Safe to say that’s not exactly good for her mental wellbeing. Can’t “idgaf” emo yourself out of that sadly

TLDR; Some days she’d go “ah hell yeah life is awesome” and other days she’d hate everything. So, yeah. Definitely depends on the day.

It doesn't make sense for Toga to die at all if accountability is what was important...

Because if Toga wanted to avoid accountability by choosing death, how is her dying taking accountability???

It doesn't add up or flow narratively at all, even more so that knowing it wasn't the original plan (it said in the fanbook) until it changed nearing the end.

I think it was a weird choice for Horikoshi to make.

I get that his thing was that Toga wanted to be accepted as she was, not redeemed. And that makes sense. But I do think killing her off to avoid accountability (ergo, her saying she'd rather die than face consequences) was just odd.

Toga understands society to a certain degree (rudimentary compared to Dabi's understanding, but still there). I think that out of all of the LOV, she had the most capacity to make a change. So it was really wasted to just kill her so that she wouldn't have to face the ramifications of her actions.

This is weird because it's like. Was Deku expecting Shigaraki/Tenko to ditch the League the moment his 'hatred was smashed'? He thinks it's a bad thing that Shigaraki/Tenko didn't renounce the League? Hatred = League Of Villains, and that's the only meaning they had, despite Shigaraki saying out loud wanting to do something one of his teammates would look forward to, despite Shigaraki wanting to be their Hero. Has Deku ever listen to a single word Shigaraki has ever said?
