For the purposes of this blog, does "children" mean characters below the age of 18, or characters below the age of 13.
Good question. I'd say that it could refer to anyone under 18 if the gap between minor and adult is important to the media being discussed, but could also refer specifically to pre-teens if the given media makes the distinction between child and teenager seem important. Context is important. Some stories portray teenagers as young adults and some portray them as older children. Make your own decisions using the themes present.
