7. What are the traits of your ideal Whumper? - I love a cold-blooded, sadistic Whumper, ones that don't necessarily have any other motive to do the horrors they do than it's fun for them. Whumpers who are just cruel, maybe easily angered, kind of just beyond any redemption. On the other hand I also like to imagine Whumpers who don't really realize they'e being Whumpers or don't mean to be: they think they're doing the right thing, they think they're on the good side (being raised/brainwashed into certain beliefs), but get close with one Whumpee in specific and slowly learn they're in the wrong. The opposite of the first - they grow so fond and protective of Whumpee they'd die and kill for them.

20. How are you doing today, buddy? - Kind of not fine, honestly. Weekend nights always remind me of how lonely I am and I just have to listen to some people probably having friends over in some apartment above mine because there's lots of laughter coming from there. And then just generally don't have energy or motivation for anything in life 😖 but it's almost 1am here so I guess I'm going to sleep now and avoid being stuck thinking about that haha

Whumper making Whumpee perform a silly, endless, physical task, like emptying a whole boat full of water only with a tablespoon, no using hands as a tool allowed or the whole thing starts over. Any task that will take weeks, or months, and when they're done, Whumper might just reward them somehow before assigning them a new job.

Whump drabbles, 13/100: defender.

“Of course he’s different. But you mean it with malice, and that is not okay.” Caretaker loomed over cowering Teammate. Whumpee sat still across the room, his horned head bowed, hiding behind his wings. “He’s different, yes, but he’s also smart, and kind, and compassionate. You could learn a lot from him.”

As soon as Teammate stormed away, sour-faced and embarrassed, Whumpee revealed himself and nearly tackled Caretaker with a hug.

“What’s this for?” Caretaker asked, as they closed their arms around Whumpee.

“Did you mean what you said?”

“Of course.” Caretaker kissed the top of Whumpee’s head. “Every word.”

Whump drabbles, 12/100: kick.

It wasn’t the first time Whumpee had knocked the wind out of Caretaker when he went to console them during what appeared to be a vivid nightmare.

“It’s okay,” he grunted between shallow breaths, doubled over in pain, while Whumpee sobbed, apologizing profusely.

“I thought you were him…”

“I know.” Caretaker lay next to them, still holding his stomach. “Honestly, it was on me this time. Next time I’ll try not to startle you so badly.”

“I’m so sorry.”

“Hey, shush.” Caretaker opened his arms, letting Whumpee snuggle against his chest. “It’s just good to see you finally fighting back.”

Whump drabbles, 11/100: frost.

Keep walking. Just a few more hours at most.

Surely, there’d be a road at some point. A village. A little cabin with a fireplace. Surely, the forest would end…

Whumpee looked down at his blackened fingertips. He could no longer feel them, or his nose and toes. Should he somehow survive, how much of him would be salvageable at the end?

But he wouldn’t survive.

He should’ve just listened to Whumper. He’d freeze in these woods, and nobody would ever be able to find his body, bring him home, to Caretaker, to bury.

He never should’ve tried to escape.

Whumpee is in the hospital, barely keeping their eyes open. Caretaker is right there by their side, ready to do anything.

"Caretaker," Whumpee breathes, "Can you bring me... a phone? I need... to call someone."

Caretaker brings a phone, but Whumpee is too weak to even hold it.

"Who can I call for you?" Caretaker asks softly, poised to dial.

The name Whumpee utters shocks Caretaker to their core.
