IDK who needs to hear this but (I certainly did) : A chapter is not required to be 2000-4000 words in length (or whatever 'reasonable' amount it is in your head.) A chapter ends where you feel comfortable ending it. You make your own rules!

a new entry with similar energy: my comment to myself about having trouble figuring out how to describe my character playing the french horn, an instrument i very much know how to play 😭
Sometimes, I like to enhance the writing process by leaving ridiculous comments on my document as I write. Then, when I go back through to edit, I get the added entertainment of being reminded of whatever clownery popped into my head as I was writing.

i was doing final edits in an *unsaved* word document because i like to use the read-aloud thing (i normally write my drafts in google docs because of the autosave feature) and when i was finished, i cut everything from the word document, closed the then-empty unsaved word document, and when i went to paste it into google docs. guess what. it didn't paste. so it's gone. i felt good about those final edits. but now they're gone. if you need me i'll be crying in the corner
