// Hey guys, I’m taking new business courses (which includes starting my own little online biz) and it’s going to take up a lot of my time and brain juices. So although I’ll be around on IM, Skype & Discord (All of which are available upon request to mutuals), I’m slimming down my blog count and deleting/archiving sideblogs & misc blogs so I can better focus myself and keep up on things. To start, my attempt at an Ulquirra blog ( @quartoxvespertilio​ ) is going to be deleted (bc there’s really not much on there anyway), Leo’s blog ( @killerbugyo​) is being closed/archived, and my NiGHTS:JoD multimuse (@filigreenightmares​) will also be closed/archived. Other blogs of mine will be closed/archived, however Owl & Vander ( @worldsandfeathers​ ) will be kept on hiatus/semi-hiatus while I do my classes.

//I will answer asks and do threads via asks (since maintaining normal threads is extremely hard for me at this time). If this is not okay, please let me know! This is just the method I’ve found works best for me bc sending asks limits me and keeps me from overtaxing my arms & hands, while having asks gives me a bit of leeway in answering them when I can. Anyway, thanks for all of your patience and interest in Owl & Vander. I can’t tell you how much it means to me~ UuU

~ Headcanon ! Nightmarens ~

In this realm of the Night Dimension, Nightmarens are born from the shattered remnants of a Visitor’s nightmare known as the Nightmare Mists, and a Red Ideya. From this, they are both a combination of a Visitor’s dearest dream and greatest nightmare.

For Queen Bella, she was born from a little visitor’s dream of being a princess and their deep fear of spiders. For Girania, he was born from a visitor’s love of knights and history, as well as their petrifying fear of deep sea fish. Finally, Chamelan was born from a visitor’s love of magic tricks and their pet chameleon, and their own fear of being hurt.

They are indeed, the dreams of visitors who were turned into nightmares.

~ HC ! Wizeman & the Origin of the Nightmaren ~

In the beginning, Nightmaren were made from the darkness left in the Night dimension by the natural nightmares of Visitors. These nightmare fragments drifted about like a dark mist, taking on the form of whatever the Visitor’s fear might be. By doing this, they were able to collect their Ideya which allowed them to retain their forms, and the more Ideya they gathered, the stronger they became! However, if they didn’t gather any Ideya or if they lost the Ideya they had caught, the Nightmaren would revert back to the dark mist from whence they came.

Only the strongest of Nightmaren survived, that was until Wizeman came to the Night Dimension.

It was rumored he used to be a Dreamer but that he fell and succumbed to the tides of the Dark Ocean, the natural divider between the lands of Nightopia and Nightmare. There, the ocean pulled the Ideya from his heart, an event that would have awoken any other visitor, but somehow Wizeman remained. Refusing to be conquered, he used the rare ability of Visitors to change their dreams and, with the waters and darkness around him, transformed himself into a powerful Nightmaren.

Now a Nightmaren and no longer able to leave as a Visitor, Wizeman quickly discovered his ability to change his dreams had transformed into a far more unique ability - the ability to create other Nightmaren. By gathering the darkness of others nightmares, Wizeman was able to create his own Nightmaren legion. The best part; they didn’t need Ideya to maintain their forms so long as he, their Master, survived.

With this knowledge, Wizeman began to gather Ideya for himself, increasing his power and Nightmaren legions as he went on to conquer the lands of Nightmare. All of Nightmare was in disarray as Wizeman’s nightmaren supplanted those that had formed themselves, taking the Ideya they’d gathered and leaving them to vanish. In the end, even the strongest of Nightmarens couldn’t withstand him. Only those who came, swore allegiance to Wizeman and submitted themselves to be “re-purposed” survived the purge while the others were crushed into dust.

Eventually he became the sole creator of Nightmarens, a god amongst the darkness, the very ruler of Nightmare! However, as the saying goes - absolute power corrupts absolutely and the wickedness of Wizemant’s heart eventually revealed itself.

Being empty and hollow of the bright feelings embodied in his absent Ideya, Wizeman felt nothing but contempt and impatience towards his creations. As a former Visitor, he did not see them as anything more than fanciful visions, glinting automatons, and the like. In his eyes, they were like everything else in the Night Dimension - empty vessels who appeared to have will and emotions, but not anything substantial. They were dolls, toys, tools to be used and nothing more.

He could do what he wanted with them and often did, resulting in the destruction or (if he favored the Nightmaren) the “re-purposing” of many Nightmaren “failures”. Despite their mistreatment and the iron fist he rules with, Wizeman’s forces remain loyal to him either out of fear of being destroyed or out of the knowledge that without him, they would cease to exist.

However, there have been some who were brave and confident enough to break away from his tyrannical rule, though only 1 has ever lived long enough to tell of it. Their name is NiGHTS.

~ Headcanon ! Wizeman, Ideya and His Nightmaren ~

Ideya, the most precious and coveted source of power in all of the Night Dimension. In the Night dimension, there is nothing more valuable than Ideya. In its raw form, the Ideya is a great colored sphere of energy representing a portion of a Visitor’s heart. When absorbed and compressed by a Nightmaren, the Ideya becomes a shard, it’s size depending on the strength of the Ideya. Such examples of Great Ideya shards would be the shards of Hope, Growth, and Knowledge seen adorning Wizeman’s body, and NiGHTS’s own rare Ideya of Courage.

In the time before Wizeman’s empire, Nightmaren formed when a Red Ideya of Courage was absorbed by a particularly potent combination of Nightmare fragments. This gave birth to Nightmaren who quickly learned how to use the power of Ideya. Thus began the gathering and absorbing Ideya among Nightmarens and the first glimpse of what would later become the level hierarchy of Nightmare.

(‘A`) : What does your muse do when they’re alone?

When Chamelan’s alone, he often practices what it would be like to be an actual street magician. Whether it’s perfecting card tricks or his disappearing act, this 2′nd level is always on the move. Sometimes, if one is really quite and careful to be unnoticed, one might even see the mock performances he gives in his spare time. If he has the time, he’ll even hold mock battles for when he’s sent out to grab or guard Ideya from Visitors.

(ﾟ⊿ﾟ) : Is your muse in denial a lot?

Not really. Contrary to popular belief, Chamelan is actually very aware of his station and what’s going on in Nightmare. After all, being someone who’s main skill is hiding, it’s not easy keeping secrets from him. So despite his posturing and childish antagonisms, Chamelan knows he’s not one of the favorites and is therefore expendable. It’s kind of a sore spot for him, actually, and is one of the reasons why he’s so envious and antagonistic towards Reala and NiGHTS who are, without a doubt, Wizeman’s favorites regardless of Reala’s failures and NiGHTS rebellions.

d(*⌒▽⌒*)b : What makes your muse the happiest they could ever be?

Huh, y’know, actually I don’t know what would make Chamelan the happiest he could ever be. If anything really good were to happen to him, if he were to get the greatest praise from Wizeman of all the nightmaren, he’d still take it all with a grain of salt. Sure, he’d enjoy things for a time, but really, he doesn’t believe sincere happiness exists and deep down, knows that every good thing as its tarnish. So even if he were handed true happiness on a silver platter, he’d never be able to fully experience it because he’d always be expecting there to be a catch, and eventually, he’d find it.

However, I think having a buddy - just someone to perform and talk magic with, and maybe even a pal to get into playful trouble with- would bring him the closest to being really happy Chamelan would get.

(ﾟ∀ﾟ) : If your muse was a drug, what kind would they be?

If Talont were drug, he’d be the pain killer that dentists give people who get their wisdom teeth pulled simply because of the bizarre disorienting effects it has on people. See, the weird loopiness and numb-not-numb sensations that come with powerful painmeds like that actually really correlates with the strange disembodiment of his limbs and head. That combined with his disorienting smoke and mirrors show with his juggling balls and stuff, really fits the bill.

（‐＾▽＾‐）: What does your muse’s laugh sound like?

When Talont laughs, he literally sounds like Sanji (the blond laughing) from One Piece.

(╬ ಠ益ಠ): What infuriates your muse to the point they may kill whatever it is?    

PEOPLE STEALING HIS BOOTS AND CLAWS. Seriously, because Talont is made up of living clothes, you can literally take his boots, gloves and hat and wear them. OTHER NIGHTMAREN HAVE DONE THIS TO TALONT AND HE HATES IT with such a passion that he’ll attack anyone wearing them. Chamelan once spent three days trapped in one of Talont’s contact juggling glasses for stealing Talont’s boots as a prank. He laughed the entire time - until Talont started using him for his juggling.

“Jeeze, calm down, Girania! It ain’t like we’ve been gone that long.” -pauses and looks around.- “I take that back. This place is deader than a grown-up’s dreams.”

“Well, what do you expect? It’s not like we were reformed very quickly after our... incidents. Master Wizeman was not kind in our executions.”

“Ain’t that the truth. But if he nixed us, how did we get back?”

“Canst thou not see? We are but tools in his majesty’s hands, the clay of his fingertips, and a master craftsman doth not keep useless tools.”

“Wait, are ya calling us useless!?”

“No... On the contrary, Chamelan, I think he’s saying that we were brought back because we are useful to Master Wizeman.”

“So... the only reason we ain’t Ideya an’ nightmare dust is because Wizeman needs us fer somthin’.”

“Exactly, and so long as we keep it that way, we won’t have to worry about getting... well, destroyed again.”
