what is it with men and greeting each other with handshakes while not extending the same courtesy to women despite being in the literal same room.

What? I don't know where you got that impression, but of course I know it has a second season, I've seen it more than once and I love it. If you're talking about me making a comment in the tags about it being cancelled, I mean it not getting a third season just when they officially set up their detective agency.
