There’s so much stuff in Rdr2 I just don’t do in my games and so I always feel like I’m missing out or not playing correctly

Literally have never hunted I just shot a guy herding some sheep once and then lassoed one of the sheep, stabbed it, and had to throw it away because it decayed

+ I tried to get a snake pelt (I don’t think that’s even a real thing) because I found out yesterday I can craft it into stuff and I used a shotgun, so it exploded like completely, making me spend 5 minutes trying to find its corpse (I did not)

I have crafted so far one thing and i hate it because it means i get drunk slower so it’s like what’s the point in drinking in game if I can’t have the fun interactions after

Oh oh I did actually make a fox hat today because I stole a perfect fox pelt off some guy in a camp (I don’t know how to hunt well enough to get one myself) than had to watch a YouTube video on how to give it to the guy to make it into a hat. But it’s a funny hat 🧢 🦊

To me he seems like a guy who can’t and doesn’t bother dressing for fuck but when the odd time he does find something he thinks looks stylish people think it’s the ugliest shit ever yet he wears it with pride

Like he wouldn’t be into football and openly just doesn’t get it but enjoys either a gin in front of the telly or going out camping/hunting

No shade no shade I like it but I just don’t see it personally so I wanna know what made that thought

But perhaps I could see a small emo phase when he’s younger but generally I think he’s too scruffy

Also he wears the same shit so often until it’s near done with it’s life and someone has to burn it - but openly judges other people’s styles

If there’s one thing I love about RDR is seeing what people within the fandom perceive to be a good and bad person.

There’s no right or wrong in my opinion, but it’s fun to see some people perceive Arthur as what they believe to be a good person, whilst others completely don’t.

The same goes for people like Strauss, or the Pinkertons, Micah, Dutch. Some people see them as some form of ‘devil spawn’, whilst others see them on a level similar to Arthur.

I, generally, do not like Arthur perceived as a fully good person. I’m not even quite sure I believe in the idea of good or bad people, and if it is as binary as that I still think he falls into a decimal between

I believe he had a lot of good qualities, and a lot of good actions that qualify him to be a good person. Even further, he atones for his actions later on and attempts on some level to redeem himself, if not fully successfully.

Normally I have a large concrete opinion but I don’t here. I don’t know if I see him as a good or bad person, and I don’t know what I believe is the criteria for that. Everyone to me is a mix of colours that blend to great a final colour that’s unique. Is green better than pink? No, just separate colours. Is Micah better than Arthur? No, just different.

Yet I also disagree. I believe when put through the same scenarios, Arthur’s responses and internal thoughts would fit criteria I consider good or better far more than Micah could. So does that make him a better person? Is my judging even right?

And if they are ‘bad’, does the blame affect that? Is Micah, a product of his own upbringing, a bad person for being that product? He could not change the experiences he grew from and cannot swap the tree he’s built his life upon to see things differently from another branch. Is he a good person because it’s not his fault? Is it his fault that he continues be that product of his environment, or should he just suddenly recognise his mistakes as Arthur does? Maybe, Arthur is only able to recognise his own mistakes and change because he is a product of his own environment, an environment that forced him to change.

Anywho it’s interesting to see how to people react to the game’s in depth characters and form their own opinions as it’s nice to see other perspectives (I’m cutting my rambling short as I’ve got so much more to say)
