Maigo is already fascinating as a character. Where did he come from? What is he? Why does he, unlike anyone else in the cast (other than bf lmao), not resemble any Sonic character?

And then you throw in the fact that he is “one of Sonic’s oldest friends”. That he treats him with such adoration and respect. There are sooooo so many places you could go with that. If he’s a human soul that Rewrite took, then why, one again, is he in such a unique body? And then, if he’s something else, (say, a program), then why is he here..?

I wonder if one of the only ways to get Maigo genuinely angry would be if you somehow managed to hurt “Mr. Sonic” in front of him. I wonder what Rewrite’s feelings about HIM are, in turn. Surely it at least started as a convenience for him, but I can’t remember the last time that anyone was referred to as a friend of his. Not Rewrite referring to someone else as his “friend”, but the game itself referring to someone as it.

Maybe Maigo is one of the only things that Rewrite somewhat respects. Maybe he’s confused by this! I can’t imagine that the development of new emotions ever goes smoothly for him. Here is this entity, who dotes on him and praises him and showers him with genuine affection, and Rewrite cannot begin to understand why he feels the odd warmth he does about it. It’s uncomfortable. It’s pathetic. If he ever figures out what it is, he may think it’s sinful!! Naive, foolish Maigo, his self proclaimed friend……

Anyways yeah they should explore each other’s bodies sometime- /silly
